I found some Transformers today!

Wal-Mart in Orange, CA got a boatload of Wave 2 Voyagers (i.e. Voyager Megatron, but not Voyager Prime). One Ultimate Bumblebee and nothing else.

The only nice thing I can say about Voyager Megatron is that it's at least cheaper than Leader Megatron. Didn't pick it up.

Got the 3-pack of Target Titaniums for 3.24 today.

Edit: Oh, and I found an Optimus Prime Gift Card, too. Been looking for a month.
How could they not have gotten any Voyager Primes in? They come 2 in a case with 2 Voyager Megatrons. Or at least the 6 cases that we got in last week at the TRU I work at had 2 of each in there.

I saw Voyager Megatron and Final Battle Jazz for the first time today at TRU (they had one of each, and that was the only new stuff they had). I wasn't too impressed with Megatron. If anything, it looks worse than Leader Megatron, which is kind of a feat. I might have bought voyager Prime if they had him, but I passed on Megatron.

I imagine people snapped up the Primes and left the Megatrons. I can understand why.

Does anybody here happen to have some opinions on Spychangers? I'm a real big fan of tiny TFs (I buy minicons and Legends by the bucketload) and I was wondering if they're worth buying. I have a chance to get some clear ones for $3 and i'm willing to buy a ton if they're good.

They're fun. Simple (Pull down legs, flip down hood, pull out arms, and the arms are the only articulation) but I have all of em (from G2 to current) and I like em well enough. For that price you can't go wrong. They're about the size of hot wheels.
FFMooglestar is my hero. That's all I'll say. Saved my ass from having to search for a Rodimus since I was in and out this whole week.
Yeah, he is a SERIOUS hero. I wish I had a medal to give him. Thanks again so much FFMooglestar...Roddy is absolutely beautiful. My Mirage Alternator is a bit bitter since he's not as unique as before, but that's okay.
Holy shit. It can't be Nemesis Prime can it?

Cochese - If you go back, let me know what they have. Depending on the selection I may be willing to buy some from you if you're willing.
No, I wish Fry's had that, but no way. It's the regular red pickup version of Prime.

And yeah, all the Fry's in SoCal seem to be pretty good for Transformers since not many people know they carry them. I haven't been to one since the movie toys came out so i don't know about those, but they all seemed to have at least 4 or 5 different Alternators (Rollbar, Subaru Impreza Ricochet, and the Scion xB one I think, and if you're lucky they usually have one or two Mirages and/or Optimus Primes. Lots of the Anniversary ones as well - Jetfire, Starscream, Grimlock, Bumblebee etc.
I'm trying to decide whether or not to get the classic prime or movie prime (Classic Voyager, Aniversary, or Movie Voyager). Any one version you would reccomend?
Definitely Anniversary Prime. Easily one of the most beautiful toys ever created. Every other version (except for the G1 Original) is a pale imitation.

There was one guy selling the Takara version WITH the trailer on craigslist a couple of weeks ago in LA, but I didn't have the money available at the time (no way I could sneak it by the wife/accountant since I've been doing so much other big ticket buying lately...and he wanted $200 I think for both).

In any case, I told the guy I would have the money in a couple of weeks, he told me he wanted to sell it ASAP and will probably not sell it in 2 weeks but rather just keep it, and now that I have the cash in hand he hasn't responded. Bastard.

Kicks-hobby based out of seattle got some SDCC Alternators in, but unfortunately they are only selling them together (the Rodimus and Menasaur)...at $80 a pair. Ouch. Ah well, gratz to those that got 'em through HTS online.

Saw Ultimate Bumblebee (the 80 dollar one) at my local Walmart. Funny thing is that was the ONLY TF on the shelf, kinda creepy there by itself. I have it preordered from Amazon (since it's free shipping/no tax) but I have a feeling I'm gonna regret it. It looks horrible. Bot mode looks kinda like that fugly beetmix bumblebee or whatever the hell it's called, or SuperDeformed looking. Car mode looks nice in pics, and I'm interested in the robotics/electronics, but I fear he shall be my biggest regret since Energon Omega Supreme.

If you don't want him, just cancel the preorder. I have no desire to get him either. I really don't know who they are marketing it to. The dumb lights and sounds features would seem to appeal more to kids, but the price tag puts it fairly firmly in the region of the adult collector, who isn't going to appreciate the substandard design and build quality (from what I hear -- haven't seen them in person yet). 20th Anniversary Prime is such a better deal.

I have Ultimate Bumblebee, and he certainly isn't the best design due to having a battery box crammed in his butt, but the build quality of the toy is quite good. Things snap into place on him and align perfectly to go into a very impressive car mode, and while his robot mode is a little lacking, I still think it's a pretty impressive toy (if only for the size of the thing).

So I'd still think about getting him, honestly. Check out some other reviews, if you're still not sure.
What is it, then? '77?

Looks pretty close..

I'm no expert on cars, though. I just went with what the store had. Maybe they should just call it the 19xx Bumblebee Camaro, eh? ;P
Its a '77. My dad built his own Camaro and knows every little thing about them =/.

Also does anyone know when the 08 Bumblebee comes out? I've seen people that have it but then on BBTS it says Sept 07. Anyone have a solid date on when I can get one?

Hasbro is shipping these in three waves.

Wave 1 = the original 4
Wave 2 = Wave 1 + Megatron only
Wave 3 = Wave 2 + Megatron and Prime

Stores can receive any of these waves, as Hasbro is known to overlap them. I saw a Wave 1 shipment at the Tustin TRU today -- wasn't there last week, and no Megatrons or Primes, and they had boxes of them stacked on top of the displays. The one I saw yesterday at Wal-Mart was definitely Wave 2 since they had tons of them, even on the upper shelves, and no Primes.

I wouldn't mind getting it, but $80 is way too much.

The eye lights are actually quite nice -- one of the better light up features.

But the sound? While you probably want it to do something for $80, some catchphrases and "Whip It" aren't exactly what I'd choose. I wonder how much just the sound -- something which has no value to me -- adds to the price of the toy?

WOOOO!

Picked up DVD Prime for 40 bucks at Wal-Mart today. Sexy, but not gonna open him.
Man my collection has really been growing, I'll probibly get the Movie Costco Prime pack this weekend too.

w/c WM area is this? coz the one i go to has a ton of them but still at $70....wouldn't mind getting an extra 1 for that price again, got 2 from TRU for $40 when they 1st came out, that was awhile back tho

Switching from the movie toys discussion: Tfsource has the TRU Ultra Magnus from a few years ago at $68 shipped. Not cheap, but the most rock bottom price you will find for this toy. Tfsource is an A+ online retailer - it's where I preorder all my stuff. Their prices are the lowest and they go to great lengths to get your stuff to you in pristine condition.

Also, BBTS has a clearance going on right now. Optimash Prime is $5.99, and titanium Starscream is $8.99.

Nah I got him on 192 in the Orlando Florida area. They had a crapload of them when I went but becuase of it's price, and the actual toy looks pretty friggin beautiful, they might sell quite fast

I'm betting this will be clearanced at 75% off by holiday shopping time at most WalMarts and Targets...and a LOT more available than the 20th Anniversary Prime was at 75% off at the same stores.

I found a bunch of "new" figures at a Walmart today, including the first voyagers I've seen in a long time for Ratchet, Ironhide, and Starscream, and a bunch of voyager Megatrons. So I guess some places are getting restocked. Nothing I hadn't seen before, though.

I've decided you're probably right. I just don't know if I can justify 80 bucks right now on something I don't really want, just feel I should buy to keep my collection strong. I'll wait it out of clearance.

Damn, that's a tempting price. I wish I hadn't passed on him originally thinking nobody would want him and he'd ultimately go on clearance.
Too bad they sold out of MP-04's so quickly. And I sure am glad I kept my Ultra Magnus from when I was little.
Me too. But I still should have picked up an extra UM like I did the optimus when they were both rereleased.
YES!!

Got my 08 Bumblebee at Kohl's for 2 bucks thanks to a friend's giftcard. Orlando, Hunter's Creek The Loop- Kohls
Kohls? You kidding me?

Damn, yet another store I have to check.
Kohls? You kidding me?

Exactly what I thought too, of all stores- Kohls is the one with the nice selection of figures. Warning though, they are priced at 13 bucks, but it's better than paying upwards of 16 for an 08 BB on ebay

$16? HA! There are clowns on craigslist asking $25 for it. Bastards.

And of course, all the stores you would least expect (or charge more than msrp) will have it. Of course, I don't think there are any Kohl's in SoCal...maybe one in the valley.

Theres a kohls right next to my local TRU. I've even joked to myself and my friends that i would find something in that Kohls and laughed, but i never really stepped foot into it...

I'm a glutton for punishment, so I went. No Bumblebees, but I found a stash of Barricades. Picked me up a spare, not sure what I'm going to do with it.

damn! i was thinking of stoping by there at kohls anyway i know there s a kohls in carson, ca. oh by the way i pick up ironhide do you guys think he's worth keeping?

I didn't even think our Kohl's had toys, but I haven't been in there so long that I'm going to give it a try tomorrow or the next day. Interestingly, they mailed my wife a $10 off of $10 coupon a few days ago for some reason, so it would be great if they had transformers.

Kohl's is generally a horrible place for toys. Messy doesn't even begin to cover them. They make K-Mart look organized.

Be sure to check everywhere, as the only time I've found Transformers there is when they were hiding behind Fischer-Price toys or stuffed somewhere at odd angles.
40 bucks was pretty much the price of these things when they were release back in the 80's
I don't think so...my optimus prime was $19.99 back in the 80's

I'm at Kohl's now, and they have a great selection of deluxe transformers! They were marked $12.99, but they had them for 10% off. Picked up the last '08 Bumblebee, and also got Arcee and Dreadwing (both of which they had a buttload of). They had most of the other deluxes. No Barricade, though. CocheseUSA, are you willing to sell or trade your extra one?

I could pick you up one when I go out there again.

That would be great if it wasn't too much trouble? Are you in need of any deluxes (aside from Bumblebee)?

Honestly, I don't know what the entire list is.

Well, from memory they had:

Arcee
Dreadwing
Jazz
Brawl
Scorponok
Wreckage
Swindle
Bonecrusher

If you need any of those, we could just swap. Otherwise, I could paypal you for Barricade.

Wow! I had no damn clue Kohls carried toys! I'll be making a stop there on Sunday afternoon.

As for other transformers, if you're into the alternators line, toynk.com has the Japanese die-cast Tracks Corvette available, as well as the USA version of Sideswipe (Dodge Viper).

The prices on shipping and the items themselves aren't too bad (downright good for the Diecast Tracks, IMO), either.

So I guess if you're missing one, or just want to add to your collection, there's a thought for you.

icruise:
could you sell me a deluxe: final battle jazz, longarm, payload, dropkick ? I could do all of 'em +(finders fee) or individual. I've been having a hard time tracking them down locally alot of hoarders as beforementioned.

I would, but I the only one of those that I've seen is final battle Jazz, and there was only one a few days ago, so I imagine it's gone by now.

Also a sucker for dissapointment, i went to kohls, found nothing but a deluxe bonecrusher, and a handful of Swindles. Then i checked out the TRU next to it and found a large set of voyager class. Many Megatrons, and a small set of Primes. Standing there for less than 5 minutes, 2 people came by and grabbed the Primes, so i quickly got the last 2 for me and a friend.
