I had a mystery package on my stoop this afternoon. Turns out I won a Pepsimus Prime from the Mountain Dew contest.

Considering the packaging on the one I bought was a little sub-par (no tears or anything, just looks less than mint) and this one I won is pretty much pristine, I'm kinda glad it turned out this way. Now I can keep one boxed and open one for play. \\:D/

A friend of mine found '08 Bumblebee in his local Target in the Atlanta area, but no luck around these parts for wave 2.

I keep playing for the mountain Dew fridge but none have landed on my doorstep yet. Anyone know of a way to check your address that you have for the contest? Maybe through Yahoo or something? I wanna make sure.

I posted those a couple posts back Panda, they are sooooo badass!

Snagged it from someone's post on the TFW2005 boards. It is pretty f'kn sweet grab it from me if you want it.....Now if Hasbro would only make a real figure in limited edition of the Dewformer Machine....

Also LP your Gamertag sigs are sweet I checked the link to the site on how to create them but I may be lazy. Your thread with the ones you made so far are incredible. The Sounwave one..Bioshock one...all of them...I'd love one with Shockwave and little blocks of the games I played. I just played around with the site a little but not sure mine would come out as well as yours.

Thanks for the help, but, well, screw the scalpers. I haven't bought anything (*anything*) off of eBay in over 3 years, and I probably won't start now. I'll just see if it comes back into stock at the store. If it doesn't, oh well...there are only about 2.5 gazillion Transformers I still don't own. :D

Thanks for the .gif and the compliments. I have a few more TF signatures in mind, as time permits I'll be making a few more.

I bought the Barricade jacket at Hot Topic today. I've avoided the store like the plague until now, my flesh burned as I entered... but man that jacket was so worth it.

No offense, but who would pay $180 for a cheap Casio-looking watch that looks like it fell out of a Japanese vending machine. I am also sure you could get a nice pair of authentic Ray-Bans for $160.

Yeah, it's doesn't even transform like those old school G1 Autobot watches. Anyone remember those? I still have a couple.

There was also a horrible mail order only Autobot watch with the Autobot logo that would flip open to reveal a cheapo Casio type lcd screen watch, I think it was called "the Time Warrior" or some such nonsense.

The only real quality mail orders I remember from the Transformers were the Omnibots...those were pretty cool and the red car one was awesome. It was like a James Bond car.

But GI Joe definitely had the best mail order items - hooded Cobra Commander and Duke before he was available in stores (and before we knew he would be). Damn, I remember checking the mail every day during the 6-8 week delivery time for those.

When are the wave 2 figures going to be available at the Hasbro Toy Shop?!? How many are in wave 2?

As for that $1,000,000 Transformer collection, wow it is a thing of beauty but no way is it worth a mil. I remember when I first heard about it, the lady was being mocked for asking way too much for the collection. I would have definitely taken it off her hands for a good 20K cash or so, though.

I just picked up an original Jetfire without stickers applied plus all 9 pieces of body armor but no gun or gun holder, in styrofoam (but no box, instructions, tech spec, etc.), a boxed Metroplex with a few parts missing and torn up box, and a loose Perceptor for $40. All are in beautiful condition though. I think I will go through, pick out the best accessories of each, and sell my extra Metroplex and Jetfire.

You may recall from my posts a few days ago that I picked up a 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime recently as my first transformers purchase in many many years. It's pretty amazing (if rather difficult to transform) and I'm interested in getting some of the toys from the movie now.

I wonder if you could give me a little advice (or point me somewhere that has the info I need). I've looked at the toys that are currently available, but it's a little confusing, since there are multiple versions of the same character available. It seems that the Voyager figures are the "nicer" ones that are more intended for adult collectors. What characters have had voyager versions released up until this point and which are going to be released? It seems that some of these toys are a little hard to come by. Any advice on where to get these if I wanted all of the available ones? (Hopefully not above retail price.)

Also, which characters will be released in even better versions than the voyager ones? I know that Ultimate Bumblebee is on the way, and I've seen the movie leader Prime/Megatron. I'd rather just buy one edition of a particular character, so I don't want to get something and find out that a much nicer one is coming out. Anyway, I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

Hehe, I had one at one time, but I'm pretty sure it was a KO, as it broke when I practically looked at it (or possibly tried to eat it, as I was like 5 at the time), but I got it at a candy store in the mall (remember the days when there were actually stores of nearly nothing but candy!!!)

Edit: Holy Hell! This was it:

Here you are.

In terms of size/quality, from best to to worst (though not really "worst") they go Leader class > Voyager Class > Deluxe class. Pretty much everything you see on that site is what you're going to get, except for a leader class version of "Brawl" (Devastator in the movie) is being released sometime in August I believe. Other than that figure, IDK of any other figures getting a "better" version release besides Bumblebee like you mentioned.

Unfortunately, depending on where you live, you've started a little too late to start picking these toys up. Just about every store here in Portland has most of the entire stock gone. All I see are Voyager Ratchets, and non-movie Deluxes, like Wreckage and Dreadwing.

Alot of the Wave 2 figures can't be found nationwide yet for some reason. People here and there have some luck and find some of the figures, but for the most part I think Hasbro hasn't done a full shipment yet. Hope that helps.

Also if you're interested, the Masterpiece versions of Skywarp and Starscream are going to be Wal-Mart exclusives when they're released in August. They're retailing for $60, so about the same price as the 20th Anniversary Prime.

I though Dreadwing was Wave 2?:whistle2:k
I though Dreadwing was Wave 2?:whistle2:k
You are correct. I forgot to mention that. For some reason, only the Targets around me have the crappy Wave 2 figures, ala Dreadwing or the Scout version of Arcee. And no one wants those. I haven't seen them at any of the 3 TRUs I've been to.

Man, I feel like a fool for not keeping up with these things. I just saw the movie for a second time, and I think I'm hooked on getting a few of these things. Too bad every single store in town is out of any and all good Deluxe models. I was lucky to be able to find a Voyager Starscream in the back of a Toys R Us, but other than that, I have found next to nothing.

Argh, someone tell me there's going to be a restock of some of the bumblebee Deluxe models. ;_;

Thank you. I guess that should have been the first place I looked.

So I wouldn't have to worry about a voyager class Jazz or Bumblebee coming out, for example?

Unfortunately, depending on where you live, you've started a little too late to start picking these toys up.
Yes, I've noticed that a lot of places are kind of picked over, and the weird thing is that every store in my area seems to have a very different selection (and I'm not talking about the exclusives). I was able to pick up voyager Starscream and Ratchet today at TRU. Once I finally figured out how to transform them (thanks in part to Youtube video reviews), they look pretty badass.

No problem.

Not that I know of. Check the tfw2005.com boards and seibertron.com, they have the most up to date news with that stuff. There is a 2 pack of the Deluxe 08 Camaro Bumblebee with Voyager Optimus in Wave 2, but again, no idea when that is out. There's actually 3 versions of Deluxe Jazz, one regular, one "Final Battle" and one that has the G1 colors. Both of the latter are part of Wave 2. Again, I think Hasbro is making the figures in each class relative to their size in the movie. For example, Bumblebee is only available in the Deluxe size (outside of the $100 Ultimate model) because he's smaller than the other Transformers in the movie.

I had both Ironhide and Starscream in my hand when the figures were first released on June 2nd, only to buy Ironhide and return him. Curses.
Which ones are in wave 2?
Well I can tell you what's all in Wave 1....

Leader:
Optimus Prime
Megatron

Voyager:
Ratchet
Starscream
Ironhide
Blackout

Deluxe:
Scorponok
Old Camaro (IDK the year) Bumblebee
Barricade
Brawl
Wreckage
Jazz
Swindle
Bonecrusher
Protoform Optimus
Protoform Starscream

I think that's all of them. Everything else you see on that link in those 3 categories are from Wave 2.

EDIT***: Quick question for everyone. Did anyone actually pick up the Transformers Monopoly set? It's $29.99 on Amazon with free shipping, but I was wondering if it was actually worth it. I've spent so much money on stupid Transformers shit I need to start picking and choosing what I get carefully.

Just realized that I said I bought Starscream and Ratchet above. I actually got Starscream and Ironhide. They had a bunch of each of those, but none of the others. Ironhide is very cool.

I don't think I'll be able to pick up Voyager Megatron or Prime, but I think I can get the Leader class ones. They're just bigger and fancier? Any reason to prefer the voyager class ones?

of all the Deluxe edition that came out last month, i think Jazz is the only badass looking on both robot and vehicle mode.
which is why i bought 2 of `em. one still sealed and while the other is opened.

they could have done better on barricade and bonecrusher though.

You know what I really want? Hyper-detailed, die-cast, non-Transformable versions of the vehicles. You know, those little models with real metal bodies and rubber tires. I don't really care about the transforming aspect of the toys, just really great looking collectibles.

Well Voyager Megs and Prime are part of Wave 2, and again, I don't think anyone has seen them in the wild yet. The only reason I can think of to pick up the Voyager class versions of the 2 is that they're $20 a piece instead of $40.

Skywarp, so far is only being released as a MP-06 around September 2007, Starscream is the WM exclusive

I see. I thought that I had already missed those, but it looks like they just haven't shown up in our stores yet. If that's the case, then it probably won't be all that hard to find all of the voyager class ones. I don't think I'll be able to find deluxe Bumblebee, but that Target two-pack looks nicer anyway.

The Camaro would be a 2009, not 2008. The older one is 1975-1977, it is NOT, under any circumstances, a 1974 model.

If someone could get me interior shots, especially of the instrument panel, I could narrow it down even further.

Well the Camaro is based on the concept which is supposed to hit mid-to-late 08 through 09 so its technically '08.

Mid-to-late 2008 would be a 2009 model. The first Camaro bowed September 26, 1966 as a 1967 model.

If there's anyone who knows Camaros on this board, it's me. ;)

#-oDo'h, you're right...my bad.
#-oDo'h, you're right...my bad.
It's cool.

The reason it isn't a 74 model is because it has the wrap-around rear glass. I've been told it's actually a 76 model, but I'd like to ferret that out for myself with some better shots. All I can find now is Concept pictures.

I'm hoping I can afford the new one by the time the '10 model comes out, because I hope that will bring a SS model with over 500hp factory. And either a tilt/slide sunroof (like on the 2G Eclipse/Talon/Avenger) or a Targa. I don't think we'll see T-tops coming back.

So if you get it are you planning in buying it in yellow and adding black racing stripes?

I was going to but...I'm not going to be able to afford it this coming year.

Hugger Orange, actually. If it's offered, with a Tuxedo Black Hockeystick stripe. To match a 69 I'll eventually build.

Like this, but with a black stripe:

Is the Masterpiece Starscream going to be exactly like the Japanese version or is it going to have something missing like the Anniversary Prime that they released with the missing smoke stacks? I also noticed that we get a white version of Starscream while the Japanese get a blue tinted version. So far the pictures I've seen of the WM exclusive don't impress me. I guess because the box is ugly and the figure is just kind of there while on the Japanese boxes you get them posed and transformed looking all badass.

Oooh that's nice! Have you seen the '09 with that paint job/stripe? Any pics?

No, they are keeping tight wraps on anything that they haven't shown on purpose. I'm sure I could photoshop something, but I'll just let my imagination flow.

And if it isn't available, I might go with Triple Black.

The toys don't help me narrow it down any further.

Am I the only one who would take the classic Camaro over the Concept? I think that they both look great, but it's amazing how many people judge you and/or get jealous based solely on how nice your ride is. I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off it on the lot.

I'd love to take a ride in the modified Topkick. Those things look like they can flatten a Hummer.

Apparently Transformers has sold really well since June. In just about 2 months worth of time since the toys were released, they have sold around 3 million units!

This has put HASBRO in a very favorable frame of mind for the second movie possibilities...

"'Transformers' has been a unique box office success. Our U.S. retail sales of [the new] Transformers toys have exceeded our expectations with 3 million units sold since the launch," Hasbro CEO Alfred Verrecchia said during a conference call with analysts to discuss the company's results.

Hasbro's "Transfomers" movie-related toys boosted the toymaker's profits and sales in the second quarter.

"It's too soon to say if there's a 'Transformers 2.' No date has been set as yet, but a second movie is possible," Verrecchia said.

Exceeeding expectations...Great job folks! We collectors are over-achievers now! I knew we had it in us.

Read the whole article here, at CNN.com.

I don't have a single figure from the movie... I'm wondering if I should pick one up. I'll probably Prime and Megs, and maybe Starscream but I can't afford to pay full price for those.

Rodimus goes on sale tomorrow. I wish I knew when they'd start selling him on Hasbro's online store.
