25th anniversary Prime has gone to 75% off at alot of Target stores, picked one up for $17 and change. Funny thing is that the other sets like the Springer/Rat Bat two pack are still at 50% off.
 
I finally opened up my 25th Anniversary Prime the other day, and in addition to the smokestacks being short, I noticed that the color of the cab is a lot lighter gray than the Encore edition, and there are a number of other small differences. I prefer the Encore (and I also think it's closer to the original) but the Hasbro one isn't bad if you can get it cheaply (i.e. not anywhere close to $70).

Is this the one that is making it's clearance rounds at Target these days? I admit it does look a bit different than the original one I had back in the 80's, but I was thankful I had some version of Prime from his original 80's form. I have not taken it out of the package.... I don't know if I want to either.

Yeah, those are the ones. All the ones at my store were beat to hell so we opened it. My son loves it because its the only Optimus that he can transform without any help.

Finally found the Springer/Ratbat two pack for $7.50...Springer is nice, Ratbat not so much.

I really wonder why they charged 70 bucks for him (35 on clearance)?

At the time I considered buying two of them, one to keep in the box, the other to open...but 70 bucks for a toy..ouch.
 
Wait so Target is clearancing the 25th Anniversary Optimus Primes?

Yeah $70 was a crazy rip. You can keep the comic reprint and DVD, thank you very much. The original was just $25-$30 if I remember correctly.

Got these guys today. I love how all of their weapons really resemble the G1 weapons, and how Megatron has a hole on the top of his hand for his cannon. That's something I haven't seen before with these guys.

Yeah, what is with the sudden Wal-Mart price hike on deluxes? Used to be $7.77 then jumped to $9.98 then last time I was in there they were like $12! Is everywhere going to raise the price on Transformers?

I would guess that everyone would follow Wal-Marts lead. I went shopping a few days ago and Target was $10, so they're not there yet, but I think it's only a matter of time.

Strangely, my Walmarts appear to still have deluxes at $9.97 or whatever Walmart's "around $10" price point is.
 
Yeah, I noticed the second walmart price hike the other day. Target is still at $9.99 and this week they are actually $8.99 on sale. Picked the deluxe Hound...well worth the $9.
 
Local walmart reorganized toy shelves which means there is more space for Transformers now. Picked up animated Jetstorm/Jetfire two pack for $21-22. Also saw new Smokescreen deluxe and Dinobot Deluxe.

If you have a Sears Essentials near you (and you check them every so often for clearance games) don't forget to check out the toy section.

I got Shockwave there last week (and I've yet to see it anywhere else around here), and Voyagers are still $17.99 there.
 
Some Sears stores still have leftovers from the X-mas toy aisles, and it's all 50% off. Obiviously it's YMMV as to whether your Sears has anygood stuff left.

I saw Animated Grimlock for $10.50 at a couple of stores yesterday.
 
What's the appeal of the Mighty Mugs??? I don't get it...

The local Target's near me (IL) still have the Deluxes for $7.99! :whistle2:o

Any thoughts on the upcoming Movie toys?
 
Well, the Mighty Muggs are cute and they all more or less use the same body with the defining characteristics being added via paint, so it's interesting to see how they interpret different characters. I dunno -- I bought a few on a whim and now I have maybe 25 or 30 (mostly Star Wars ones).
 
I'll pick up Prime from Mighty Muggs line but that's really about it. Just want prime to stand next to my mighty muggs captain america.
 
Walmart.com has some clearance Animated Deluxe Two Packs for $8 each, they also have a bundle with both two-packs, i.e. 4 Deluxe figures for $14. The two packs are
Optimus Prime & Blackarachnia
Prowl & Megatron


I ordered the bundle.

Is that Target price on Deluxe figures still active/nationwide? $8 is pretty reasonable for the deluxe toys, but the $11 and $12 I had been seeing seemed too high.

Not that I've seen.


I was at a bunch of Targets over the past few days, and animated deluxes rang up $11.99 at all of them.

Looks like TRU is the last place to get $10 Deluxes.
 
As an update to the clearance at Walmart.com; each of the two packs is now down to $5.50, although the double two-pack is still $14. They also have the Leader Class Bulkhead for $21. Ship-to-store is free, but even regular shipping is about $1.

I figured this was the best place to post what I found today... So, my wife, daughter and I were at the local Goodwill looking for cheap party supplies, and I did a double-take when I saw this on the shelf:

I had heard that Target donated damaged/opened toys to Goodwill, but this 25th Optimus Prime was in minty-mint condition (except for a raised surface on the top of the box). The battery in the talking Autobot emblem is even still good!
 
Killer find man. I had to pay 28 bucks for mine.

It would have been even more funny if your wife thought it was stupid to buy it even though it was so cheap.

fucking a, my Targets never have a damn thing on clearance, and finding something like that at Goodwill in LA? Never going to happen. Only place that still has them is Toys R Us, still at $70 a pop.

Target donates unsold clearance merchandise to the local Goodwill. It doesn't have to be damaged, opened, or returned merchandise. You got damn lucky...my local Goodwill actually marks the prices back up from Targets lowest!
 
ok folks, not to be a rumor monger, buuut:
Animated may or may not be canceled. Rumor at a few different sights holds that by the end of May, Animated will be off shelves, and that Target and Walmart, at the very least, have will not be replenishing their stock. Hasbrotoyshop.com has also pulled some of the more recent additions (BEFORE I could nab my Samurai Prowl, I might add:bomb::bomb::bomb:, so anyone wanna keep an eye out in stores for me? :bouncy:)

Could all be for naught, could be that it'll return after summer and the movie line settles down (though that wouldn't make much sense, seeing as how Animated Season 3 will be starting fairly soon, and would be finished by then). Here's to hoping it's a rumor, but if not, might wanna grab any Animated figures u've been eyeing to avoid ebay scalper prices later.
 
I have yet to see Wreck-Gar in a B&M store so I'm prolly gonna get him from HTS soonish. Luckily I found a Waspinator in a local Walmart a few days ago, so thats off my list. The last thing I was really looking forward to is Arcee, I really hope they go ahead and release her. *searches for a preorder*

Yes, saw one at Target a couple of weeks ago. Waspinator being out is news to me though. I kinda hope I don't find these as Walmart has jacked up the prices to $13 and Target has just done the same.
 
I was in a KMart this morning, and there was a slot on the top shelf labeled for the Mighty Muggs. Nothing actually there, but still, they either had some or plan to soon.

Also saw Universe Stormcloud on clearance for $22.
 
Waspinator/Samurai Prowl/few other new ones sighted at Walmart for $13 each. Got myself a Samurai Prowl. I advise people check fast if you have any interest, not a lot of the new ones but a ton of old ones shelfwarming still. All of them are $13. It sucks, but this was the last figures I wanted from the line so meh, I'll pay a premium.
 
FYI - Target has the Deluxe Animated Series Transfromers marked down to $8.99, looks like it is good through the first week of April. My Target had also restocked so I was able to find a Blur. None of the newest series, i.e. Waspinator.
