Trine - Puzzle-platformer for PSN - $20 Now released

I only played a minute of the PC demo because I wanted to use a PS3 controller and the driver I was using had bad button mappings that I couldn't remap, but initial impressions were that this will be very polished for an indie game. Love the idea of co-oping it with my fiancee. Interesting how many people are saying they'll refuse to buy it because of lack of online co-op. Not long ago, people enjoyed playing games together in the same room.

Day 1 purchase for me.

$20 means I will most likely be getting this the minute is released to play with my friend (and hopefully my girlfriend will like it as well).

And I can't see why 360 would have online coop when the PC isn't even going to have it.

It looks really fun to me. There haven't been nearly enough 3D sidescrollers

Ah... that Not Long Ago that I remember so well.

Before I got married and moved several states away from the only gamers that I know in real life.

For me "Co Op" is online 95 percent of the time. So without an online mode, I'm going to hold out until this game is out for a while.
Because the 360 version wont be out until the holiday season
That's no reason to assume they're going to add online, for certain.

They have never confirmed that the 360 version will have online. Bottom line.
If there is at least split screen I will bite..
It's not split-screen. Up to three players can play together, all in the same playfield. There is absolutely no need to split the screen.

I JUST looked up as I saw your post:oops:. Looks like it should be pretty impressive.

@CoffeeEdge
fuck your preconceived notions.
Battlefield 1943 isn't even coming out at $20, it's $5 less! Indie developer taking advantage of sidescroller demand v. EA, my have the tables have turned! :applause: But hey, if by the XBLA release they can figure out how to program online co-op and are able to patch that into the others then I'll grab a spot in a gameshare group (thank you Sony!).

Reminds me, can't wait for some 4 player co-op in TMNT: Turtles in Time and Zombie Apocalypse.

Comparing this to Bf 1943 is just stupid. If anything you should be bitching about BF 1943 being 5 dollars more than The Punisher

This game has a 10hr campaign with replay value. And local coop. Couple friends and some beer and you got a great night. Or they can sit around and watch you play Battlefield:roll:

I'd like to inform those that are wanting to play this earlier than next week that Trine is available RIGHT NOW on Steam, not on the 10th. It's tempting to pick this up. I played the demo in Steam and had a lot of fun with it.

The Dtoid reviewer missed the co-op option in the main menu. Commenters there have said that needing to get multiple characters across the screen makes the game much more complex, which does seem to be the case based on the demo.

Looking forward to reading some CAG feedback on this game. Especially any people who play local co-op if its in there.

Here are two posts from a developer on the trine forums regarding the release date for PS3

I would bet on having it earlier than 30th of July, but once again, when I have been correct with these dates ..?

Worrying about the demo or not having demo is also a bit too early, but if there is demo released on PSN it's likely that it's only after the release.

It's only speculation from my side.

I must stress out our publisher has said it will be out July. However, they did not specify is there difference between EU and US releases, but it is my understanding that they should come pretty much the same time.

It's too bad that Frozenbyte had to go with three separate publishers instead of being able to self-publish, as it seems to have come back to haunt them big time.

This get delayed again? I was sure I readsomewhere they delayed it a week because they did not want to release it the same week as Fat Princess.

Crystal Defenders and TV Show King were released on PSN today instead of Trine...what kind of bullshit is this? Why are they releasing these Santorum games instead of what is promising to be a quality game like Trine...which SHOULDVE been out in July...goddammit.
