At this point its getting tough on here. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind helping people when trying to find what they missed and I got. If I have more than 1, Ill sell at cost plus s/h. I dont care if the game is rare, sells for more on ebay, can get more in trade in but Ive yet to be helped in 1 single game that I missed out on and couldnt find. Apparently the stuff I got is worth half what all the others are. Its def getting to the point where its easier to flip shit and just buy what I wanted or missed with the profits if I choose to go that route.
/truth. I have hooked up quite a fe wpeople, but the couple games I was looking for and proposed trades I got the equivalent answer of "Well my game is a little rare and worth more so I'd need something extra". Mind you, hardly any of these games will be worth anything until the bible-forecasted "GREAT FATWALLET EBAY FLOOD OF 2005" subsides, and I'm offering games on these peoples wanted list, AND WE BOTH BOUGHT THESE GAMES FOR THE SAME PRICE. Some days I feel bad that I now sell more on ebay than I trade, but today is not one of those days due to shit like that.
I'm not going to go into details on how many of each game I got, because someone ignorant might bitch about how many of a certain title I picked up. I busted my ass, woke up at 6:30, went to 4 TRU's and drove almost 200 miles, bot back about 8 PM. My list (some in multiple quantities):
PS2
Digital Devil Saga
Metal Slug 4/5
Bard's Tale
Romance IX
Romance X
DBZ Sagas
Psychonauts
Gamecube
Pikmin 2
Resident Evil 4
Mario Party 4
4 Swords
Virtua Quest
GBA
Golden Sun Lost Age
PSP
Darkstalkers
Rengoku
Dead To Rights
2 x PSP Pro Starter Kits
In retrospect, I probably should have picked a few games to trade or fool around with, such as RE4, Samurai Western or Killer 7, but I can't complain. I was pretty lucky with my haul considering I didnt buy earlier then return for a price adjust. I might go back out tomorrow to the 2 that were well stocked to see if theres any GBA stuff. What makes me happier is what all I was able to accomplish with the $400 or so I spent:
- I got all the games I wanted on my list
- I got some nice presents
- I hooked up 6 people (here and GTZ) with stuff for cost plus ship
- I hooked up employees and early morning shoppers with the list so they could get in before the madness
- I hooked up some Game Crazy employees that will now give me heads up on sales and throw me promo swag
- I traded about $65 worth of stuff for $160 in Game Rush credit that will get me some good RPGs next year (provided the dickheads actually get them in)
- I have some items to ebay that will get me a good chunk of my $ back. If not now, in a month - I can be patient.
One last thing for all the people whining about hoarding and buying early. 1) - You thought you knew about hoarding before FatWallet got wind of this? Yeah, you didn't know shit - those people ar eprofessional locusts. 2) - I went to 2 TRU's in close proximity first - Boardman and Niles, OH. I had my pick out of everything there, I spent a majority of my total. I left a TON of games, partly due to me still being hungover, partly just because I didnt need them. It took a little bit to go across NE Ohio, and ended up at the next TRU's about noon. At noon, the Cuyahoga Falls TRU was DESTROYED - it was a gigantic mess. They had at least 30 copies of RE4 that were all gone, and any game with significant ebay value was gone. Someone had bought all but 1 of the 6 DDS the night before and was price adjusting them. I didn't get anything there, but then went to one of the Akron TRU's. They had a decent selection (they didn't have much to begin with, but there was Mario Party 4 left). Upon talking to the employee, someone had been there about 10 and spent $430 - $300 of that just on Resident Evil 4's. Yes, he bought 30 copies of RE4. He was a Fatwalleter and apparently was really beligerent when DDR was ringing up 29.99.
So i ask you people that do that complaining, is that why I am supposed to leave stuff behind? That I am morally obligated to give someone else the opportuniy to buy every damn game in the store? I wish it wasn't true, but the way sales like this happen it's survival of the fittest. Not to mention the "reward" I get for driving 200 miles and busting my ass for 12 hours is people wanting me to give them my games for $13 bucks each. A lot of people on this site and others need to realize how much easier it is to not put any effort and just ask for things rather than be the one giving. Just a thought.
