Here it is, the new green tag thread for this year. The old one was getting too crowded. The list is not completely updated yet, but sometime within the next day it will be 100%.

Basically, everything on this list is 50% off. The discount comes after the cashier presses total. THERE IS STILL NO CONFIRMED DATE FOR MORE THAN 50% OFF. It is all rumors as of right now. According to corporate, bigger discounts will be based on sell through of the merchandise, which right now seems to be going along with plan. I wouldn't expect until the end of November or December at the earliest to get a bigger percentage off, but once again that is not confirmed and just speculation. It wasn't until after Christmas last year the 90% hit.

NOTE - THE GLITCH IS GONE SINCE THE BUY 2 GET 1 FREE DEAL IS OVER.

THE GLITCH! Since everyone still can't seem to get the glitch correctly, here it is. Take 3 games you want for the Buy 2 get 1 free deal and make sure the two green tag games are the same price or more expensive than the regular priced game. If the regular priced game is more expensive than the two green tag games, then the green tag game will be free, thus ruining the deal/glitch. Two of them must be green tag games and the third must be a regular price game to get the best deal. Make sure that the cashier rings the two green tag games first then the regular priced game. The system will give you both green tag games for half off and the regular priced game will be free. Here are two examples for those who still do not understand.

Transaction 1(this will ring correctly):
PS2 Mega Man Anniversary Collection $29.99 (green tag game)
PS2 MTV Remix 3 $29.99(green tag game)
XB Ninja Gaiden Black $29.99(regular priced game)
Total before discount $89.97
Then the discount is processed and you get this:
PS2 Mega Man Anniversary Collection $14.99 (green tag game)
PS2 MTV Remix 3 $14.99(green tag game)
XB Ninja Gaiden Black $0.00(regular priced game)
Total $29.98

Transaction 2(this does not ring correctly because you gave them to the cashier in the wrong order):
PS2 Mega Man Anniversary Collection $29.99 (green tag game)
XB Ninja Gaiden Black $29.99(regular priced game)
PS2 MTV Remix 3 $29.99(green tag game)
Total before discount $89.97
Then the discount is processed and you get this:
PS2 Mega Man Anniversary Collection $14.99 (green tag game)
XB Ninja Gaiden Black $29.99(regular priced game)
PS2 MTV Remix 3 $0.00(green tag game)
Total $44.98

Transaction 3(this does not ring correctly either because you don't know how to buy 3 games that are the EXACT SAME PRICE):
PS2Mega Man Anniversary Collection $29.99 (green tag game)
PS2 La Purcelle Tactics $29.95 (green tag game)
XB Ninja Gaiden Black $29.99(regular priced game)
Total before discount $89.93
Then the discount is processed and you get this:
PS2 Mega Man Anniversary Collection $14.99 (green tag game)
PS2 La Purcelle Tactics $0.00 (green tag game)
XB Ninja Gaiden Black $29.99(regular priced game)
Total $44.98

Things in this font color are things I recently updated the list with(I double checked these at the store before posting). Note, these are not new items added recently, just things that never got updated onto the list.

Special thanks to Zon and Benboxer for their contributions to the green tag sale info.
anyone know if/when the ff hdd for ps2 is gonna get added to the green tag? i heard people talking about it before...
Now that would be a good deal

In case anyone is wondering, Cold Fear has dropped to $19.99 GT. :D I just bought it from the Times Square TRU here in NYC for $10.81 (NYC tax). It's one of the few TRU's that still has the game in stock. Either way, I'm glad I got one, just wish there was a pricegrabber rebate on it, $6 would be GREAT!

scored the last ace combat 5 for $10, gonna send out the pricegrabber rebate tomorrow so it should bring it down to a cool $5. anyone know how it plays? is it arcade-y? it's gotten great reviews so I'm anxious to play it. I also saw a couple of titles I'm considering picking up amplitude, final fantasy tactics and final fantasy chronicles when they drop to $10 on Tuesday.

So I've probably got such a great loot bag this past month, I'm feeling really smug about my CAG'ness. Here's the low-down:

First of all, I had bought 2 Ace Combat 5's during the B2G1F sale and I had returned one a week ago for The Warriors (a $25 game exchanged for a $50 game :D ). The second one I just returned yesterday for NFS:MW BE and paid only $10 difference on the game since it was the BE edition... so basically I paid $35 for NFS:MW BE. And then picked up Cold Fear and AC5 (for the third time) for $10.81 each. I'm so happy I think I'll be content even without a spectacular black friday sale anywhere this year. What a great year it's been for this CAG. :bouncy:

Oh! And for anyone wondering where they might find AC5 in the NYC area, the TRU in queens (48th st & Northern Blvd) still has more than a handful in stock but no Cold Fear if you're looking to do one stop shopping. I picked up Cold Fear at the Times Square TRU (the only thing that store is good for since all new games are at least $5 more than MSRP).

Got some bad news for ya. As of Tuesday 11/22, 471 of the green tag titles will no longer be green tag- they will be removed.

The good news? They'll all be becoming $9.99 standard price. This is the same price that a majority of these are after GT anyways. This will work in your favor for games like Polarium (DS), DBZ Sagas (PS2), or Splinter Cell:pT (Cube), which were much more than $9.99 originally with GT anyways. It's also likely you'll be seeing a few new game titles added to that pricepoint. Stores will be recieving this list of games today at some point.

That's all for now, update later when I return from working there today.

When you say 471 of the games, does that mean that some green tag games will be removed, does that mean there ARE some games staying green tagged?

There is already another thread regarding this subject... ALL GT games are being removed and being marked at $9.99, even those that are currently less that 9.99 now.

w00t! Somebody actually called me "Nice"... quite a change from the usual "asshole" I get :D Thanks!

Scored a copy of Cold Fear for $9.99 @ the St. Ann, MO TRU store, had a few more copies handy there.

Cold Fear was the only one I was looking for, so I think I'm done with GT 2005.

My store has quite a few copies of Cold Fear left... but my wife put me on a budget, so video game purchases are getting trimmed back a bit :(

I just tried this at my local TRU. SC:CT (GC) was green tagged $50 and scanned $24.99. The same with Timesplitters: Future Imperfect. I had him scan a Cold Fear that was GT $50 and it came up $9.99. So, not ALL GT items are $9.99 unfortunately.
11/21 dude. That's when the GT prices change.
Whoops, guess i should have read the whole thread.

Went in and switched a Burnout Revenge from the Buy 2 Get 1 sale for DQ8, and picked up Ace Combat for $10 using the gift card I got from that Buy 2 Get 1 sale. Good deals all around :D.
Whoops, guess i should have read the whole thread.
Actually, the price change goes into effect 11/22. 11/21 is the last day to get games at GT prices (which, in most cases, makes no difference in price)

Picked up the last copy of "Ace Combat 5" today for $9.99! Thanks for the price drop tip as it was still marked $49.99.

Was at Target today and they had the Greatest Hits version of "Ace Combet 5" out. Don't know if TRU will hike the price back to the GH MSRP of $19.99, but not likely.

Picked up Feel the Magic at another TRU today, sadly no PSO or FFTA at that one either. Ah well. I got a couple other GBA games to look for at my local TRU tomorrow. I will enjoy getting a pretty penny credited to my card when I get all these adjusted.

Actually, this thread's days are running very short. On the 22nd, GreenTag Video Games are getting eliminated, at least for this year's sale.

Alright, so I've done all the math and tallied up my bounty for the past month, and it seems to me that I paid altogether $108.25 for the following 7 games thanks to the GT games and glitch:

The Warriors :xbox:
Need for Speed Most Wanted Black Edition :xbox:
Ace Combat 5 :ps2:
Cold Fear :xbox:
Dead To Rights 2 :xbox:
Burnout Revenge :xbox:
Resident Evil 4 :ps2:

How you ask? Well, that's quite the tale but after today and recounting the damage, it was oh so worth it.

Keep in mind I live in NYC so 8.375% sales tax...

First strike: $70.42 during B2G1F sale-> 2 copies of RE4 (one to exchange for Shadow of Colossus when they get it back in stock) and Ace Combat 5 (so RE4 was free).

Second strike: $81.26 during B2G1F sale -> :xbox: Time Splitters (thinking this was GT but was not) + Ace Combat 5 + Burnout Revenge (the free game here), all of these three had gift receipts, I forgot to get gift receipts the first strike.

Went back trying to exchange RE4 but no luck so instead got the non-videogame cs rep to exchange the GT ($24.99) AC5 for ($49.99) The Warriors and while I was there, picked up Dead to Rights 2 for $9.97. She didn't even cross off or write anything on the receipt about AC5 since she said I would still need the receipt to exchange RE4 in the future. With me so far? The key here is the unblemished receipt with AC5.

I found out recently that AC5 was dropping to $19.99 GT so I went to TRU and returned the AC5 I bought in strike 2 for store credit hoping I would get the full $50 like some other guy had posted during the TRU B2G1F deal thread, but ended up with $25 (plus tax) store credit.

Now here's the slight twist: Went back last week (after the AC5 and Cold Fear dropped to $19.99 pre GT) when NFSMW came out and exchanged the second strike games ($49.99 TSFP + $24.99 AC5 credit) basically for NFSMW:BE + AC5 + Cold Fear + $5 difference since NFSMW:BE is $59.99. Make sense? So AC5 and Cold Fear were $9.97 each after GT by this time. So it's like I paid $86.63 total for NFSMW:BE + AC5 + Cold Fear (picked up at TRU at times square) + Burnout Revenge (the free game from strike 2).

Now the even trickier part. Since I still have the receipt from strike 1 in pristine condition, I bought another AC5 by itself for $10.81 (NYC tax). I went back today to my local TRU after being lied and told by some guy over the phone that they had Shadow back in stock only to find they still don't. So in my angry act, I asked to return AC5 and RE4 (I bought another AC5 for $9.97 since I already exchanged the AC5 I originally bought from strike 1) using the strike 1 receipt. Again, an older lady who didn't know much about video games helped me, and the best part is she gave me the full $70.42 back in cash!!!! (I paid in cash and had the original receipt so I didn't have to settle for store credit) And she didn't ask a single thing about the free RE4 though the receipt plainly showed it on there.

So if you've followed this long crazy ordeal, you can do the math and see that I only paid $108.25 for the 7 games. Sick deal IMO.

If you are getting lost in the math, think of it this way, I got a free RE4 and paid basically $10.81 (one of the AC5) for The Warriors. Then you can think of it as I paid $21.62 for AC5 and Cold Fear and the full $65.01 for NFSMW:BE and got Burnout Revenge for free. And add in $10.81 for Dead to Rights 2 and that's all 7 games for a grand total of $108.25 I'm set to have entertainment for a long time now... possibly til the Xbox 360 price drop?

No, I simply let them do their thing. Was it my fault the lady didn't care for nor ask about the free game? She even asked another cs rep how she should "ring up" the free game and the other rep said to "just ring up using the two games with prices". I did nothing wrong other than be a dissatisfied customer. I was lied to and told TWICE that they had Shadow in stock and came down to find an ignorant RZone rep who didn't know their head from their ass so what's wrong with what happened? Because somebody else didn't do their job correctly, I'm at fault? I gave them money for the games I really wanted, and they charged me the prices they felt that should have been charged, did I in any way tell them to exchange AC5 for The Warriors? She rang it up as $49.99 when she clearly saw the receipt and that it was $24.99. Yeh, I'm gloating, and yeh I think DreamSymphony is jealous. Deal. :booty:

Buying a game for $10, then using a different receipt to get more money back multiple times is fraud.
Buying a game for $10, then using a different receipt to get more money back multiple times is fraud.
I think you missed the point genius, I used the receipt to exchange a game that I bought legitimately and the cs rep did all the work from there. Then I bought the game again and returned it with RE4 (which was also bought legitimately) since they didn't have what I wanted to exchange them for and again the cs rep did all the work. I only returned them because they pissed me off wasting my time TWICE and making me drive there for no good reason. Man, are you some 70 year old man who needs his prunes today or just a TRU employee who just realized that you fall in the same category as the cs rep who "helped" me and trying to take a cheap shot? Fraud is when I steal a game out of the store and find a receipt from someone who bought the same game and return it so I got cash for nothing, in my case, I spent my own cash every time and simply let the TRU employees work their magic. If you feel like your day is made worse by it then tough, I would like to see how much you have spent on video games from retailers in the past year. Unless you're some rich old man who has tons of cash to blow.

And it's not like I abused it unfairly since it would have been a price match or difference refund anyway because they dropped the price of AC5 to $19.99 with GT, I only got more money back once on the final return. So where does your argument hold water?

I just bought SC:CT for xbox this past week and plan on taking it to BB this Friday to get the difference ($29.99 -> $9.99), is that also fraud? :booty:

Hey man, you live in NYC it appears, if you want, I can try snagging one for you on Friday if I see any when I go to BB for the pm (I bought one at $29.99 just to make sure I'll have one in hand on Friday) and I'll sell it to you for face value ($9.99 plus tax?) if you want. I work in mid-town so I'm around if you wanna meet up to trade too.

Picked up the following at TRU:

Metroid Fusion (GBA) - $10
Metroid Zero Mission (GBA) - $10
Mario Golf (GBA) - $10
FF Tactics Advance (GBA) - $10
Ace Combat 5 - $10
Cold Fear (Xbox) - $10
Demon Stone (Xbox) - $10

It most certainly is.... That is unless you have an unused receipt in which you bought SC:CT at BB instead of another store.

Read my sig, that's u buddy. Why don't you go to the gamerush thread and tell ALL the people buying games for cheap from EB, or using some other "fraudulent" method, and trading them in for more cash than they spent that they're all thieves commiting fraud? That way you can sleep at night. *sigh* I bet you're one of those people that lined up Monday and was told at midnight that the 360 was sold out and you're angry that you couldn't hock a 360 on ebay for $1k aren't you?
It most certainly is.... That is unless you have an unused receipt in which you bought SC:CT at BB instead of another store.
Of course it is, you see, that comment truly puts you in the category of people who fit in my sig. Just your ignorance of not knowing that BB is selling SC:CT for $9.99 tomorrow morning and saying that I would be commiting fraud by getting a price match at the very store I bought the game from tells me a lot about you. I'm bored of arguing with you. :speaktothehand:

Sorry, but trading in games for a profit is different than returning unopened games to a place you didn't buy them from for a profit. You my as well just be stealing stuff from the store at that point.

EB and GS are in the business of buying trades. If you happened to find a game cheap and end up making a profit on the trade, good for you. But deliberately buying unopened games for dirt cheap and returning them to a store that you know is selling them for 2-3x more, sorry, but that is no different than stealing. Those places aren't in the business of taking in trades and paying out for merchandise that wasn't even their's. It's because of your types that abuse the system that places like Target, TRU and CC don't even take returns without a receipt now.

I havea novel idea that you can try. Get yourself a shrink-wrap setup and reseal all of your used games and return them as new to Walmart. No different.

In case you didn't read carefully (it seems like you didn't even bother reading period), I BOUGHT with US currency another copy of Ace Combat 5 from TRU after they had the price drop to $19.99. Because YOUR types who work at TRU, I got this great deal. I know you're a TRU employee spooge, but come on now, from a purely objective standpoint, a TRU employee not doing their job properly and giving me an exchange for AC5 to The Warriors, and not crossing off the receipt indicating a game was already exchanged or returned, is not my fault by any means. And neither is the lady not asking for the free game when she rang up the return. Did I shrink-wrap any open used game? No. Did I buy a game that wasn't from TRU and return it to TRU with a receipt? No. What I did was buy another copy of AC5 from TRU post price drop and use the receipt (that your type didn't bother crossing off after the return) that I had from the B2G1F sale to return two games since I had already exchanged the first copy of AC5 for the Warriors. Look at it this way, I simply returned a game that was $25 but dropped to $9.99 (after GT) from the SAME store. That sounds like a price match to me, perfectly acceptable. Now explain to me how any of that is my fault? Maybe if your "types" did their jobs better, we wouldn't be debating this anymore. Face it, if any of y'all got this deal, you wouldn't be pissing on anyone's parade. Sheesh, it's your types that defeat the purpose of CAG. I got in on a great deal and bought a game at $9.99. I could have also just gone to Gamerush and trade in like 20 copies of AC5 and make a hundred dollars and just hoard the game, but instead chose to keep my money at TRU and buy only one copy so others can buy the rest, where's the wrong in that?

It's obvious you have no morals and don't mind ripping off stores so I am not gonna argue with you.... CAG is for getting legitimate deals and not meant to defraud stores, but good for you on your successful rip offs :)

In case you can't understand the simple logic, let's boil it down to the crux of your argument and analyze just that part (since all the other games were perfectly simple in how I obtained them):

I bought 3 games during the B2G1F sale. I got 2 x RE4 and 1 AC5. With me so far or should I start over? I exchanged the AC5 for The Warriors not having paid the difference of $25 (AC5 bought $49.99 GT) because the cs rep didn't care about what the receipt said and punched in $49.99 for AC5. She then gives me back the receipt without marking off AC5.

So now I'm left with 2 RE4's, got that?

I go back a week ago to the same TRU and buy another AC5 (now $19.99 GT) so I have a full deck again with the receipt (2 RE4's and 1 AC5). My goal all along was to exchange the games because I want Shadow of the Colossus and maybe for Forza or Conker. Instead, the RZone guy who doesn't know what an xbox or ps2 is, tells me TWICE on two seperate occasions that they had Shadow in stock. Each time I go there, carrying the two games back and forth and back and forth, they in fact did not get any Shadow at all. So the last time I just got worried that maybe the exchange time window was almost closing (what is the exchange policy for TRU?) I asked the CS rep what I should do because I want to exchange for something that I can never get at TRU when they do have it in stock. The lady said I should just return them and buy it at another time. She then proceeded to make the return and didn't even ask for the free RE4.

Now that is the boiled down simplified version of what has happened. What's wrong with what I did?

And even better, explain how this is different from anyone who bought a GT game during the B2G1F sale knowing full well that they were supposed to buy games that were in fact the same price, not 2 $49.99 games and one $49.99 GT game. Because that's what I see this as. Simple as that.
