Ugh. Forget the GTA angle, this kind of socially deviant behavior from a pair of kids killing a kitten is a major meltdown point for me. That's just disgusting. And the article pretty much leads to not much can be done about it so let's blame the video games.

I agree 100%. At the risk of sounding cliche, I believe parenting to be the most important thing you'll ever do with your life. At the very least, it will have the most long-reaching effects. How you raise your kids will affect how your kids raise their own kids, and so forth and so on. Being strict is not a negative thing; if you love your kids, you'll keep them on the straight and narrow, and not "be their friend".
Anyway, GTA is not directly at fault for this heinous act. However, I do believe the parents of these kids should never have let them play such a mature game at that age. Kids will go as far as you let them; the blame here lies with the adults.

Actually, yes, I would, as long as the animal posed no threat to anyone. If you go out and purposefully find an alligator to hurt just for the sake of hurting it, you're an ass and you should probably have your ass kicked. The thing is, as humans, we have the ability to make rational decisions beyond basic necessity (food, etc). Actively hurting something just because we can is terrible, no matter what the animal. If it's a cute animal that could never truly harm anyone, then it's even worse.
