Update: I just picked up my order and noticed that FEAR 3 ps3 is indeed $9.99!!!!!! It rung up the right price. I haven't been able to confirm that this is corporate wide so think of the fear 3 ps3 deal as ymmv for now.

Well im guessing since evo past, and there was no announcement for an uncanny version, so I give it till september and someone will put it for $20.

I think amazon originally matched gamestop first. i'm not sure, but it's also on sale at gamestop and i was considering getting it there with credit but i know that capcom will release another version as soon as i buy it.

i didn't buy it because i have mvc3 collectors edition that i only opened to redeem the character dlc and i waited this long on umvc3. i have a feeling umvc3 3x is not a rumor even though capcom denied it. it will probably be coming eventually.

that was capcom's way of saying thanks to the people who supported them and bought the CE. people who bought regular mvc3 were shit out of luck. they were screwing people who purchased mvc3 CE softer, even though they were still being screwed.

why was your brother pissed? he went directly to umvc3 instead of buying mvc3. i much rather pay for the 2 character dlc than have paid for my $70 mvc3 CE that's useless now.

Actually, us CE owners kinda got re-screwed too. If you brought UMVC3 for the Vita, the CE vouchers for the characters wouldnt work. So we had to wait like 3 months to finally get them

I bought mv3 SE on release date while he had the vanilla version. I then got umvc3 and so did he thinking that all characters would be on the roster. Little did we know, thats not the case and he had to fork over the 800 MSP for two extra fighters that SHOULD of been on the ULTIMATE VERSION of a game. I dunno. If capcom still makes an announcement of an uncanny version, I might just be done with capcom fighters for a LONG LONG time.

people kept saying that at evo that an "uncanny verison" would be released. It was rumored to be like SF4 AE, where it will be a $40 title, or $15 dlc if you have umvc3. Some said it would only add 4 new fighters or some dumb shit like that.
 
Capcom said at its Evo panel there WILL NOT be any updates to UMvC 3, no Uncanny Edition, etc. Given that only hardcore fighting game fans bought Ultimate (vanilla has still outsold it 3 to 1 by most counts) and all the bad press over SF x Tekken I believe we won't see any more add-ons for this game.

If they do MvC 4 on the new systems, then so be it, but no more upgrades on the current systems.

Judging by all the outrage over 3 and Ultimate, and especially SFxTK, i wouldnt be surprised if people were wary to buy any future games at full price. I definately know i will be, too much damn DLC lately from Capcom.

This, one hundred times this. I felt absolutely burned being a MvC3:CE week one buyer and a Hawkeye/Ghost Rider fan. Then there was the whole Mega Man Legends 3 dick tease, "Hey we've got a demo for the game to let some insiders play, but now the game's cancelled, and despite that we're not going to let you guys have the working demo, sup son ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" So yeah, no more full price purchases from Capcom for me.

Megaman Legends 3 was the final straw for me. I had SO much hype for that, cancelled out of thin air, then they blame us by saying there wasnt enough hype for the game. I remember all the rage had that day.

Either way, i get my fighting game fix from AkSys now. Though i still occasionally play Street Fighter/MvC

Bought both vanilla CE and UMvC3 on day 1 and played them all the time. Still playing UMvC3, actually.

If you don't care about online play, don't install the updates the game tries to download when booting the game up and you can use the DLC costumes by glitching the system a bit.

No new updates to this game will be happening. Team is already working on something else. (New MvC3 version? Darkstalkers? Power Stone 3??)

so first i toggle internet access off on my ps3 to make sure it doesn't update when installing. then what?

Oh man I wish it was a new Power Stone but seeing how Capcom is, there is going to be at least one more MvC3 version.

That's the one. It's even neater because it lets you use the Magneto outfit that was "banned" by Spain.
 
I've never followed MvC but a buddy of mine loves it, and keeps trying to get me to buy it too. I've played it plenty of times before and like it, but can anyone tell me what the difference between the vanilla version MvC3 and UMvC3.

From that video above I can tell they didn't add any characters...so what did they add?

The video is of the UMvC3 how can you tell if they did or didn't add characters from that video without also looking at a MvC3 video?

Anyway they did add new characters.

Was thinking of getting it if I was able to do bb last week deal. Don't know if I want it since I don't like the Marvel half of the game.

In addition to the new characters they also added new stages, a spectator mode & made many balance adjustments.

In addition to all that, many existing characters had their move sets altered. For example, Storm was given two new special moves, foul wind and fair wind.
