CAGiversary!
Hey guys I check around to see if this was posted... didn't see it.

Xbox live is now offering the Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare DLC, but you can also purchase the Undead Nightmare Collection the has all previous DLC for 1600pts. Good deal if you don't have the others. :bouncy:

Description:
The Undead Nightmare Collection combines the Undead Nightmare Pack, Liars and Cheats Pack & Legends and Killers Pack. Undead Nightmare Pack: An entirely new single-player campaign following John Marston as he tries to find a cure for the highly-infectious undead plague. Liars and Cheats Pack: Multiplayer Poker, Liar’s Dice, Horse Racing, Stronghold competitive mode and Explosive Rifle. Legends and Killers Pack: Nine new map areas, Multiplayer Characters from Red Dead Revolver and Tomahawk weapon.

are they charging PSN players for the costumes? They were 2 costumes for free on XBL recently, as for omg zombie mode...not many good westerns out there with zombies in them. 800 ms points is pretty sweet intro price for the single player DLC.

Costumes apparently are worth $5 because that's the going price for some of the StarWars avatar items on XBL. hee hee...and Daft Punk for Tron was an excellent idea.
The other DLC indeed should have been free, but the Undead Nightmare pack is absolutely worth $10. Your comments make you look uninformed.
Exactly. Its a full 6-8 hour Single Player campaign.

Those were free for the PS3 as well.

Pay no mind. He bought Episodes from Liberty City, which is no different from paying for Undead Nightmare.

I've played just a bit of the Undead pack. For the doubters:
Old West gunslinging: check
Zombie apocalypse: check

Why the hell haven't these been combined before? Brilliant, if you ask me. An Old West zombie apocalypse would make a sweet movie, if done right.
ill wake you up when that happens. while youre waiting consider that what dlc is WORTH is subjective. for a lot of us thats less than a couple hours work, big deal. and you are the very first person ive heard bitching about the existance of this dlc and the price. we're all entitled to our own opinion, but... you are wrong.

-just saw your title, touché.
Costume packs should be free since all they are are skins for your character and not very useful outside of multiplayer. The multiplayer for this game(on PS3 anyway) is pretty fuckin' dead, so they're pretty worthless. The poker/dice thing would've been nice from the start, but again it comes down to perceived value.

Considering every free roam game I've been in aside from those with friends has ended with random idiots shooting me in the head for laughs, I'd rather not even bother trying to get along with random players long enough to play a couple hands of poker.
The funniest thing about your post is your avatar....
I did like the game when I played through it, which is why I have the avatar.

More storyline missions that give further detail about the real characters in the game and not some gimmicky zombie mode would be worth it to me. If I want zombies I'll go back to playing Dead Rising 2. But some people will buy anything as long as it gives them their new cheesmints and/or a feeling of supposedly getting 'their money's worth'.

Ten bucks for zombies though? Nah. Not for me. Maybe for you. But I'd rather learn about the background of Marston's wife and her backstory, along with many of the other characters in the main game. I'd like to see how they got where they are. THAT is worth $10 to me.

I also just bought the GTA Complete(GTA IV and Episodes in one pack on one Blu-Ray:applause:;)) yesterday as well, since I hated having both games seperately. Now I just have to unload the seperate versions on someone.

What I saw of it was pretty horrible.

So you spent $60-40 for a zombie game instead of $10

Red Dead Redemption did the Western themed game right, just as much as Dead Rising 2 and games like it do the zombie games right. To me, mixing them is kinda ridiculous. RDR was a truly great game. The single player story was incredible, the weather effects were insane, the expansive game world was just so great to roam around in.

But then I went online and I felt like the once vibrant single player world was a shell of itself. I couldn't play dice or cards, there were very few NPC's in the towns and the game world just seemed pretty lifeless. You couldn't do anything like you could in single player in there. I mean, sure, you could hunt animals. But you couldn't skin them and use those skins to buy ammo. You had to rely on killing the few random NPC's or one of the ammo refill boxes.

So then they announced the L&K pack. Multiplayer skins=meh. Those are usually unlockable in game using in-game points. The pack that unlocked dice and poker did intrigue me, but it was $5 too much imo for stuff that should've been unlocked from day one online.

Now if the pack added in the ability to duel with players who you think are cheating at one of the games, that might add a bit more replayability to it. But after a while even the best mode gets repetitive and annoying.

the undead nightmare dlc is awesome and its the only zombie game that imo has done it right ( headshots kill zombies). easily worth 7.99.

My point all along is that people buying this DLC crap only lets companies know that they can release gimped games(see: Dragon Age Origins) that require purchasing supplementary items to their games in order to get the full experience.

Slippery slope and one I'm firmly planted on the 'fuck no' ledge of resistance to. Anything over free to $2 for DLC is gouging/nickel and diming to me.

regardless of the price you choose to pay for it youre still supporting dlc and making it profitable for develpers to do so. if you pay 20 or 2 dollars for something youre supporting it.

This is true. But..but..but..but that Psycho pack on DR2 was SO worth it cuz it made the 'wondertwins' so easy to beat.;)

But the relative value of these packs goes back to if it's a good deal for you personally. If it is, then so be it and don't give a shit what anyone else says.

Gimped games? Are we still talking about RDR here?

I'm personally really digging the single player campaign of Undead Nightmare. It's funny seeing John Marston's attitude towards zombies, since he's such a simple man. This is probably a lot closer to playing a zombie movie than other games I've played.

It's so creepy roaming around in the dark, open land with zombies roaming just as much. Plus there's something very satisfying about popping 4 zombie heads in a row with my Dead Eye.

You should really play Undead Nightmare. It's not like any zombie game I've played recently. The story is pretty good, the zombies are actually holy shit scary sometimes especially since really bullets don't do shit unless you pop em in the head, saving towns and settlements is really fun and the whole idea of never really being safe makes it less boring than "ride around in RDR not fearing anything because I'm essentially a walking weapons arsenal".

you figure any game you get comes out MSRP will start with a $10-$20+ giftcard, gamecredit, or something of the like. Some stores will even give you an additional $10 GC (BB) for preordering it. So when you get a DLC pack like this, that's actually quality you're in essense still paying less than MSRP on release. *shrugs* They could put the Flood (Halo) in RDR and I'd still have a ton of fun shooting them or trappling them with my undead mount.

This is a pretty good deal, its just to difficult to resist. I think its pretty much worth it, with everything that is included.

Reviews are not so good. But I sometimes like terrible movies. It's on Netflix streaming, so maybe I'll check it out. Maybe that other one that was posted above, too. ;-)
