Weird, a $5 promotional credit was applied for Gran Turino. I don't remember ever receiving a blu-ray credit, only video game credit for Gran Turismo. I ended up paying nothing for the movie.

This happen to anyone else?

Amazon does this with the lighting or rebates they have everytime you buy something , you will see this everytime before the final step of confirm your order , for example simpsons and smallville seasons they gave me a 20 dlls credit this means it was $30 the same with you Gran Torino was probably like like $13 and after the promotion applied and lighting deal rebates it goes to $5.

I noticed in the OP that Mad Men is listed for $10 each season. Wasn't that only if they got 50,000 followers or something? Did they decide to do it anyway? Is the pricing definite?

sigh, was on the road and thought i could order The Mummy via my android phone. turns out the script doesn't load in Opera :(

got to a PC 25+ mins after the deal started but The Mummy was on 'Join Waitlist'. so i clicked it, then in less than 5 mins, was prompted that the deal was available (with a 3 min timer).

clicked 'add to cart' and paid. not sure if the timer was just for adding it to cart & it resets to 15 mins for Lightning Deals, but i wasn't going to wait to find out.

still annoyed that Opera could not load the Lightning Deals. :bomb:

For the future download the amazon app. You can just search whatever item you know will be on sale once the lightning deal starts and it will be that price. Its how I got a bunch of the Simpsons seasons for $10 yesterday.

Yea, only if they got 50,000 followers on the Amazon Movies FB page. They are at 13,000 now...so I doubt that this is happening.

I just checked the time the Entourage DVDs aren't on sale till 8:30 PST but I'm definitely hitting that sale up since they are such a rip off normally.

Are they lightning deals then? Either way I need 4 of them. It'll finish off my Christmas list, I was told to find about $40 worth of stuff along with the Splatterhouse. I was gonna go with money, but since I got a part time job I'd rather just get these.

LOL, I kinda wish this deal wouldn't happen because I paid over $20 for each season. Man, now I'm regretting buying it so early. Oh well, it's been well worth it because it's one of the best TV shows out right now.

Does anyone know if I pre-emptively put PREDATORS, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, and LOST - The Complete Collection in my "Save for Later" Cart on Amazon today... when I log in tomorrow at 4:30am (PREDATORS & LOST) and 8:30am (SAVING PRIVATE RYAN), they will be at the BF prices?

I wouldn't see why not but wanted to double check. Thanks!

You have to add the item from the lightning deal button. Go look at one of the current deals and see the price then click through to the item.

That has not worked since '08. Amazon shut that down last year.
Thought I was going to trick the systems there... oh well.

Thanks guys!
Well, back then most people weren't doing it so much to trick the system but as a way to ensure it would make it to their cart. Amazon was having real issues with adding things to your cart back then, so the only way to guarantee you wouldn't have a problem was to have it already in the cart. Many people would get screwed out of deals because they simply couldn't add it to their cart before it went OOS. That's how the 'trick' was even discovered.

So I'm trying to get the lightning deal for night at the museum 2 on my iPhone but the sites not working. I tried the app but it doesn't give me the lightning deal. Anyone know how to get it to work?

it took me a couple of refreshes and I got the page to load. However, it freezes when i add anything to the cart. Sigh, same problem with the video game lightning deals, but those won't load for me at all.

EDIT: it's working for me now.

For those who have woke up at 430 for these deals, what is the average for how long these deals last? I work at 5am on monday and wanted the home alone and BTTF blu's. So I was thinking of having my wife check the site, at say 730 or so when she wakes up. Is she going to waste her time checking then?

I used to app to snatch up Gran Torino while I was at work for $5. I had problems, as is seems that a few people did, with Night at the Museum. I think it was just a problem with the amount of traffic hitting the site.

Anyways, with your iPhone app the $5 price didn't show up on the main screen, but it showed up if I clicked on the product. This happened for both GT and NatM. For GT it said I had 10 mins to check out as soon as I added it into my cart. For NatM I had problems on both my iPhone and computer. About 10 mins into the deal I finally got it to work on my computer. You can definitely get the lightning deals on your iPhone though.

About 10 mins into the Night at the Museum deal, it said there were 30% claimed. Most people have work off today and probably inflated those numbers. Monday shouldn't be too bad as most people have to work. I plan on getting up and getting Home Alone at 7:30 with no problems.

Hard to say, pretty much depends on the demand of each deal.
That Lost collection looks hot. I've never seen the show, but understand that many people are fans of the show. Is it a good blind buy?
Oh fuck yeah. The blu set for $125...well, I have half the seasons on blu already but I'll have to pull the trigger. I wish it was $120 or even better, $100 or less, but for $20 a blu season of easily on the best shows ever, plus say another $5 for the bonus crap, hell yeah. I have no doubt you can make your money back if you end up not liking it...

Bought the 3 Mad Men seasons. Ordered True Blood and Big Band Theory for $12 each for the gf so she can have her own copies. Already have True Blood seasons on Blu-Ray, and can definitely recommend S1 as a blind buy at these prices. Hoping for the same success with Mad Men I've had blind buying TB and the Dexter series.

The only thing I want tomorrow is Saving Private Ryan, really hoping I can get it via my phone while working tomorrow lol

True dat. Last year I was working in college and I must've taken 20-30 iPhone..err, bathroom breaks that week

Now I'm graduated and am having trouble finding a job. So I got all the time in the world to shop online, but not as much money. Still though, I had to splurge a little this week. It IS black friday and I'm a CAG, after all.

Anyone think they might drop the price of the single Lost box sets. I want to get them, but I don't want all of that extra stuff in the Lightning Deal set.
Superbad Bluray is $5 lightning deal, add to cart and use GRHORNET code to drop it to $2.
Saw this in another thread and ordered.

Thank you very much!
