got Untold Legends and Just cause..33.50 total..

had them scan that CoD2 spec Edition...came up 29.99 told them to forget it on that one
 
The stores in Lexington, KY were cleared out. Neither of them had bins for the games, though one of them did have the complete lists for each system up. Anyway, if someone finds an extra copy of Condemned I'd love to have it.
 
Can't get to a CC until this weekend at the earliest. Sucks to have a CC / BB / Walmart so far away...
 
I found very little at the CC near Crabtree Mall in Raleigh. I got GG: Judgment, NCAA Hoops 2K7 and Chocobo Tales (for trade). The only $8.96 games left were a few copies of GG and Bullet Witch.

GG was actually ringing up $12.99 at that location.

It's crazy how much has changed in the last few years in regards to the awareness of deals such as this one. There were probably 8-10 other people browsing for $8.96 stuff while I was in the store. In years past I never saw more than 1-2 people, usually none.
 
Well, read through the list posted on slickdeals, nothing I really want aside from Drakengard 2, Dragon Quest 8, and God Hand. But haven't found them at 5 CC's. I give up for now.
 
I went out of town this weekend and bought a copy of Custom Robo for DS. Then, I got my original copies of Bullet Witch and Sylpheed price-adjusted which paid for Custom Robo with some change left over.

I saw many copies of Bullet Witch, Sylpheed, Yakuza and God Hand but I left them there because I've been wasting too much money on duplicates lately...
 
I got Bulletwitch, NBA Street PS3, Def Jam Icon, and NHL 07 today for $38 and some change. I wanted Tiger Woods 07 for 360, but my 2 stores had none. Oh well not bad, and if I don't like most of these games I can always trade them to Gamestop with the extra 20% deal for every 4games you trade in, plus my EDGE card I will just break even on what I payed.
 
My CC had no list; they were clueless as to which titles are $8.96. There was a bin but it only had Xbox and a few PS2 titles. Tomb Raider Legend 360 still rings up at $16.96 despite the earlier report here that someone got it for $8.96.
 
Meh, I guess somebody did grab all the copies of Custom Robo for DS earlier this week (they disappeared between two trips I made, I assumed they had been hidden somewhere). I got the Tom Clancy Classic Trilogy (Xbox) for ~$13 though, pretty good deal for 3 top notch action games.
 
Just picked up the very last 360 copy of NHL 2K7. This game is classic and rivals NHL '94 as the best NHL game around, I regretted trading it in, how was I to know 2K8 would be so terrible? For less than 10 dollars new this was a steal.

My CC didn't really have much else but crap DS and PS2 games.
 
My CC has tons of stuff, most games on this list anyway. Last sale I bought most of the ones I wanted, this time I jumped on some cheap, possibly not so great games just for giggles. If I can get a decent amount of fun, my money's value has been reaped.

Has anyone had any luck finding TOCA 3 for PS2? That and Yakuza were the two I really wanted. I checked the shelves for TOCA and wasn't able to find it. My guess is that my CC never stocked the game in the first place or sold out long ago.

I'm not sure how you guys are reading into it that all clearance games should be $8.96. I have the ad right here from my paper and it says no such thing. I'd say a manager who thought that was actually pretty dumb.

In fact, it seems CC is being pretty smart for a change and they only dropped all the games that weren't selling at $16.96 and left the good selling ones at the higher price. Just the picture in the ad tells me that much (with further proof from the rest of the reported drops in this thread). If it was meant to be all clearance titles why is there a distinct lack of good stuff in that picture? (No Okami, no Wii titles at all, not even stuff like Untold Legends).

It is kind of amusing to hear people talk about rushing out to buy Full Auto 2 for $16.96 and such - those drops all happened about a month ago and most of that stuff sold out then (though, granted, I'm sure many things like that can still be found here and there as most were never marked $16.96). This whole $8.96 deal is much ado about not very much as far as I'm concerned ;). Yeah, it was nice to price adjust my Custom Robo and Project Sylpheed purchases from December 8th, but I don't get all the excitement otherwise. But, also, you could have bought all this stuff earlier in the week - no need to wait for today!

In particular it seems the SD post may have dredged up a bunch of really old CC clearance titles because some of the ones people are mentioning are not likely to be found in very many places these days - things like DQ VIII, etc...
 
Got Condemned. Still tagged at $29.99, rang up at $8.9x. Might go back and see what else they've got since nothing was pulled aside and there was no list present.

man the jersey city circuit city had one clearance bin with nothing worth 8.96... crappy ps2/xbox1 games... only 360 games were 06/07 EA games and Final Fantasy XI which I got (now i'm kinda regretting it seeing as there is a fee to play it online) and they did have 1 copy of COD2 Special Edition with the reg games but i didn't bother to ask about price or anything... i really wanted ninety nine nights
 
Well I picked up DJ Icon for the PS3 although it took a while. I asked some staff guy who looked like an upper lackey where were the pile of games that were on sale. Ten minutes he comes back as tells me none of them...all the clearances games are 16.96

Hmmm, have you seen your ad this week? Have you seen the giant poster board that I'm standing next to with the exact picture of the ad with nothing near it.

I hate my Circuit City. I don't even know why I try. Sometimes I'd rather just spend the extra money.
 
My buddy was kind enough to pick up Project Sylpheed for me during his trip. He got a nice haul of 4 or 5 games for himself off that list.

I walked into my circuit city today and they had a bin in front with a few of the titles listed in this thread for $8.96. I did manage to find a good deal on something not listed here. They had an ESA Foundation 3-pack for the Xbox 360. This pack included the full retail versions as if you were to buy them seperately. The games were Open Season, Cars, and Fusion Frenzy 2, all for $29.95. Not bad and I had never heard of this before. The official name on the SKU was "ESA Holiday Pack".
 
Also, I didn't think it was worth making a new thread, but NFL tour for the PS3 & 360 comes out on 1/8 and you get a $10 gift card when you buy it. THe game is $39.99.

There's a thread dedicated solely to the ESA gamepack somewhere in the forums. Most retailers carry it at this price. Even still, it's a good deal, even if the games are mediocre at best.
 
Quick heads up. I went by Circuit City Carmel Mtn in San Diego, and spotted multiple copies of Def Jam Icon PS3,NBA 2K7 PS3, Call of Duty 2 X360, and Luminus Plus PS2.

Went to CC in CLT, NC today and they had no games in the $8.96 range. Associate even said they hadn't had any for 3 weeks now. Time to hit BB and see if I can get a price match :)
 
cra is pretty fun but might get repetitive
if your son likes customising robos and

I picked up extra copies of Parappa, Final Fantasy V, and Elite Beat Agents for trade. I have 360, PS3/PS2, DS/GBA, PSP, and GC. I'm looking for games for those systems or PSP slim component cables.
 
I picked up Project Sylpheed and Elite Beat Agents today. Last copies of both at the local store here in Pittsburgh. The store did not put any new games in the clearance bins. Everything they had out had been there for the last month or more listed as 16.96 or less. They just put up standees of the ad on top of the old games. I passed on Phantasy Star but wish I would have picked it up.

LOL. Most of the $8.96 games, if they were in stock at all, were not in a clearance bin at my store. They were on the regular shelves (completely disorganized as usual) and not marked - only identifiable if you have a list from somewhere. Flipping through hundreds of games (just in the 360 section) in cramped metal racks that seem designed to discourage browsing is not a chore for casual shoppers.
 
Seeing as how the nearest CC to me is around an hour away and I'd be far too lucky to get what I want from there...

Does anybody want to pick up Far Cry, Quake 4, and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for the Cube? I don't have anything to trade, but it'd probably be a bit cheaper for me to just pay somebody to mail them to me and give'em a few bucks for their trouble as opposed to me driving anyway.

Tell me about it took 15 min at the CC near me to look through their racks lookin for Project Slypheed only to find nothing. Decided to go to BB and price match the game with no problem. hey had tons of it on hand.
 
I went to the CC in Fairfield, CA, yesterday and didn't find many of the games I wanted from the list (like EBA and Okami) but I did dig into the clearance bins and grabbed a bunch of sports games and a copy of Lost Magic that was mentioned for $8.96.
