Urban Dead - The Official Cheap Ass Survivor Thread

Okay, I signed up as a firefighter, killed a zombie and am sleeping at the firehouse in Rudenbank, I think..

Hulin Drive, actually. Damn, I never realized how big this is...
You know, I have been wanting to try this, but every thing I have read here is almost intimidating for a newb like me...
It's really not that bad. Create an account as a fireman and you'll be up and hacking zombies with the CAG crew in no time.

EDIT: Wow, what timing.

Is fireman good, then? It seemed like a good idea (because of the axe), so I went with it.

I'm going through the wiki now...

Ditto. I love the zombie genre and I'm very intrigued by this, but it seems like an incredibly steep learning curve. That wikipedia entry about the game is just an info overload for simpleton like me. :/

Same here. (Duh, I live with Pixie.)

The Wiki is overload, so I just jumped in and used up my 50 points to go out, kill a zombie and head back to a safehouse. Now that I've gotten my feet wet, I'm reading through the Wiki.

It reminds me of HeroMud I used to play in the late 80's on the UofM server...

Late 80s? Who were you playing against .. Al Gore?

Back then, we didn't need your fancy-schmancy GUI - we had DOS, modems and long distance calling!

It was quite popular around the time. I knew a number of people that played...

That was a rough one tonight. We just managed to save Eutychian's from a horde, but Pius' is still down.
Back then, we didn't need your fancy-schmancy GUI - we had... modems...
Guess who's still using dial-up, motherfucker?

Heh-heh. Sorry...but your speeds are much better than mine were back then.
Hey, I haven't always been on 56k, man.

Also, Eutychian's be getting raped. And we just cleared the fucking place...
Yep. Unfortunately, I got a warning and didn't see it until I'd been dead for twelve minutes. :bomb:

Off across Darvall Heights to their revive point (there are still twelve zombies in the hospital, so I can't wait for you guys to give me one there), and then it's time to deal with the sticky matter of being infected...

Do you guys have multiple characters, or do you play just one?

I'm out until tomorrow night. It'll probably take me a couple days just to reach you guys.

I'm not sure how big HoW is, but these guys seem thrice the threat.

Plume - Most of us have only one account (survivors). But there are a few that also have zombie alts. Check out the Cheap Ass Corpse thread if you want to join up with them. And take note that if you have an alt account near your main, both will receive some sort of penalty.

Also,

What's up, new people. UD is pretty damn intimidating at first, but there's a bunch of us that are willing to help you guys out. PM The Crotch or HotShotX for the IRC details if you need help in real-time.

And if you're a Firefox user, you might want to grab the Urban Dead Toolbar (v58b). Adds some spiffy graphics for somewhat enhanced gameplay.

Oh shaq fu me, i'm stuck outside hallet for some reason, i think i fell when i free ran from Euty's to Hallet.
I only have 1 AP, which means I'll probably be "Dead by Dawn."

Dammit...:bomb:

Sorry I missed tonight's activities, I had a school-related emergency come up and I wasn't able to get home until midnight.

However, I do have a surprise for everyone:

Aside from that, I wonder if they hear my speaking if I kill them and dump their body outside. Oh well. Also, I originally posted Marty's info on the PK Hunting list in our Wiki. Someone erased it when I went to update my kill count tonight.

EDIT: Damnit, turns out Marty had a case of mistaken identity with me, and apologized about the PK on the CAS Wiki page. Umm.....oops.

Yeeeahhh...
Alright, we all clear on that? Don't kill at Wiki-designated revives, spraypaint-designated revives, or graveyards (support the Sacred Ground Policy, mothafuckas).

I decided to remove Marty Banks from our KoS list. He apologized for killing HotShot on both the DHPD Wiki and our Wiki.
You didn't know, though, so, whatever. Might want to check out the discussion on the wiki and tell him that.

EDIT: Damn you and your ninja skills, HotShot.

1: The Militant Order of Barhah are ancient, and very important to the history of UD. BARHAH is the zombie word for victory/paradise/awesome/zombie brotherhood, depending on who you ask. Very, very important to all zombies.

2: I removed Marty from the KoS section of our Wiki, HotShot - he apologized for and explained his actions in multiple places. I also warned him that you might be coming for the whole "eye for an eye" thing.

Well from what i got from the radio, they're the ones responsible for this.

So I'm thinking something like...we're boned.

I wish someone PMed me about that, I just rocked him something fierce. As such, I've updated the Wiki page to represent this new type of kill count. Check it out, leave me some feedback here.

Noice. I mentioned that you accidentally took killed him on the DHPD talk page.

Also, who's this LittlePetal guy?

EDIT: Added numbers for the rest of the CAS. They are not necessarily supposed to be permanent - they are merely placeholders, as it looked really weird having nothing in there.

Finally joined back up with you guys. I died like a while ago and wandered off then been busy moving and stuff and havent played.

Edit LOL @ Hotshot causing trouble. :D

Crotch, LittlePedal is some guy who PK'd me. That's all.

Edit: Though, I found out he soon after became food fodder for a zombie passing by because I saw his dead body next to the revive point in Caiger. Still gonna get him once though.

I joined into the game over the weekend as a firefighter with the same name as mine here in the forum. I just got my first zombie kill yesterday in Darvall, I was pretty happy about it, fun game to kill time.
I'm surprised Hallet is still standing. I figured the horde would move there from Euty's.
Yeah, but if these guys are as OG (or OZ as the case may be) as Crotch says, I may be taking a trip to Caiger sooner than I planned. ;)

Damn, this is blocked at work.

I'm way out in Ruddlebank. I'm just about to check my map to plot the best route and avoid wasting AP as I make my way out to Duvall Heights.

Got one zombie kill to my name, and that is all.

I'm also considering possibly staying out here, acting as a CAS safehouse. Anyone have any thoughts on that?
