I just took a walk and found that the Auto Repair shop on 2 blocks over from the new locale that I used as an entry point is now at heavy.
Currently, there is an alternate entry at the Auto Repair shop 3 blocks up.

It is wide open and has a low level survivor (Jennifer somethingorother) in it with 14 hp and 1 zombie.
I tried to kill the zed but had god-awful luck and only knocked him down to 31hp. If anybody wants to finish him off for the xp feel free.

Thanks for the update. I tagged the zed as I went through the repair shop but kept on booking as I am infected and extremely low on HP. I am now in the HQ in desparate need of medical attention.

Yeah, I'm starting to get god damn pissed off at this stuff. Everyone, the Stagg is no longer safe. Head further south. And look up "River Tactics" and "Barricade Strafing" on the UDWiki. Everyone, get a toolbox.
 
Barricade Strafing seems like the way to go. We should find a place to make our temp HQ in our current location and just start 'cading everything in the immediate area.

Of course, a lot of us need to be revived first.

That's the thing about UD. In theory, zombies can "win". Survivors can't (Pk'ing).

Would there be any harm to the balance by giving humans a huge % to dodge human attacks (thereby making PKs a colossal waste of AP)? I mean, it wouldn't exactly be a violation of their source material (zombie flicks).
 
Kevan - the game's creator - wishes to neither encourage nor discourage PKing.

He just needs to stop buffing zombies and nerfing humans. I play both, and this is fucking ludicrous.

Except for the fact that he missed with 18 attacks tonight, he's doing great.

Now if I manage to hold on, I'll actually be able to walk somewhere.
 
We could try for shore hills, it seems to still be ok, the last middle suburb to not fall. Anybody notice dulston all the way in the top right? Wonder why they haven't bothered it.

How is everyone on supplies/weapons? Do we need to head back to a mall or are we ok for now?
 
Might be a good idea to just head back to the ol' mall. I have a feeling we'll be pushed that far south eventually anyway. I wish all the groups could work better together. If even half a dozen groups massed in one suburb at a time we could probably take them back.
 
Working on my own follow-up version in MSPaint.

So far I have a zombie whose back is ripped away to expose his spine being beheaded by a guy with a lead pipe.
 
We need to find a suburb we like, and hold it down. Don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting tired of wasting AP running from suburb to suburb.

Lets stay put, and use our AP to cade and kill.

im in shore hills now at an nt building stocking up on syringes ( only have 2 so far) once my ap gets to 50 im making my way back to auckland to stomp some zombies. its pretty safe so far but man the amount of safe spots is definetly dwindling.
 
Ok, I moved over into Kinch Heights now. I knocked a zombie down by about 20HP. I am almost at 100XP now. Probably by Monday I will have Free Running and catch up with you guys.

I agree. I want to hole up somewhere safe and start focusing on the Necro skills. We need armies of Necrotech employees to keep the fighters fighting.
 
Hard to say, but at our current state, I think it best to lay low, level up our low levels, and establish some sort of position that wont be ransacked while everyone is away. We currently lack the man power, resources, and coordination with the front lines to do much harm or protect. If we were all up and running, I would think we could at most take down 30 zeds, at best. And that's probably a small fraction of a zed mob. But who am I to say, being only a level 5.

Since the last update, it seems like teamwork among the survivors has become critical. Maybe we should address that first (try and cooperate with the other survivor groups/clans). Crotch is already doing that, big props to him. Other than that, it seems like whatever we do is a crapshoot.
 
I just started playing a few days back. Level 1 firefighter in St Ethelbert's Church in South Blythville. Everybody says get free running first, but won't HTH proficiency make me a better killer?

I suppose the trick is staying near a VSB position.

Any advice on helping the CAG clan out?
 
Hmm, if you're near a VSB building which you think has a high chance of staying safe for the night, I would suggest getting axe proficiency first. But if you need supplies/ammo/useful items, which I doubt you need since you're a firefighter (axe is very ap efficient), get free running. Some may argue though that having a safe place to sleep is more important in the long run. PKers and Zeds flock to the VSB or heavily occupied buildings. Free running allows you to access those one way free run paths which are considerabley safer than staying in crowded supply buildings.

As an example I started as a cop. Therefore I needed ammunition. However the Police Depts around me were powered down. The ones that were powered up were most likely Heavily Barricaded+. So In my situation, it was probably a wiser choice to go with free running first to save ap/have better chances at finding ammo.

And I know it's tempting, but try not to kill the zeds at revive points. They eventually want to become human and would appreciate it if no one was hacking away at their legs. If you're looking for mobs to level off of, you can head up into North Blythville. But I'm sure just damaging w/o killing those zed queues is fine, since they'll fall eventually.

Also, try not to give away your location on the boards, for fear of pkers and what not.

I figured out Gee Avenue was a revive point after I dumped 60 APs into attacking zombies. D'Oh!

I'm trying to run the numbers on fastest XP. As a firefighter, I gain roughly 0.75 XP per Attack AP. Getting HTH skill will raise my hit percentage to 40% or roughly 1.2 XP per Attack AP.

However, I get a guaranteed 5XP for every FAK I use on somebody. Hospital search percentages for FAKs appear to be 20%. If I get First Aid and Surgery, do I get 15XP per use of FAK? That would work out to roughly 3XP per FAK use AP. Even without those two extra skills, it is roughly 1.33 per FAK use AP.

Regarding my location, I'm within walking distance of a well known revive points. Killing me would be a waste of time based on hit percentages. Also, there is some Internet publicized gang around.

Just a dumb question: How much HP does a zombie have after it stands up?

Yeah, the biggest problem with this game is that unlike a regular MMO, you are "logged in" at all times. That makes the timezones really important since UK players, especially zeds, have an extreme advantage over players in the US.

I mean we can whack on zeds that are not currently online (or awake even), but all they need to do is spend 1 or 6 AP to stand up (if they are a higher level zed) and they are back up and ready to go.

With the current situation, you almost need 24-7 coverage to make sure zeds can't just break down the doors while we are all sleeping. Since that isn't going to happen, we probably need to start creating multiple HQs and spreading out our forces so that a single break in doesn't kill off half the group. We'll need to have the Necro skilled players spread out as well so we can revive those that do get ambushed.
 
So now that I'm finally able to play again, I head towards Caiger Mall, I get one or two squares away from the Hallet Building (which I believed was the safe point) and get the hacking n slashing on a zombie, I managed to kill him and with 3AP left I go to enter the Hallet building and find out it's been ruined.

Doh!
