Urban Dead - The Official Cheap Ass Survivor Thread

It's one of the main unofficial forums for Urban Dead listed on the wiki. That's a big downside, imo, is that there is no central place for everyone to meet up, official forums and all. It means everyone's splintering time across many different forums.
I got a revive super-fast, like Crotch said, even without the request tool. I revived you too, Plume. I also healed you up a bit, Crotchy. At least the infection's gone, aye?

I'm seeing a lot of names in these nearby buildings from the Rogues' Gallery. Be careful, folks.
I saw that - thanks a lot Modium!

Yea, thats one of the better known UD sites. If those groups are really committed i think it could be a good idea. Just so long as it doesn't end up like last time, witch groups changing their minds and shit.

Restocked ammo in the PD, healed Cside for 10 and his infection, couldn't get jack for FAKs in the hospital.

As to the organization thing, it looks like the humans will be toast without it.

So I'm still trying to join up with the group. I had the misfortune of being raped by zeds on the way, and ever since I have been bent over and violated even further in any attempts to get live and stay that way.

I am very serious when I say that there must be some group of zombie hunters taking the same path as my main, as they have headshotted the dick out of me 3 times now. I've been popped twice at supposed revive points (I think the revive tags are plants to pull the suckers into the open). I've been stuck on lvl 4 now because of the continual loss of 15 AP, and I don't think I'll ever see XP ever again.

There's no way to play survivor and enjoy this fucking game. My alt burns half his AP on 'cading everything in sight and FAK hunts. I guess I've just run into a bad string of phony revive points or headshotting asswipes who don't respect revive points.

Though I have to say, even after all the greefing I've gone through, that I still think revive points are a little bit bullshit. How many of the zeds at a given revive point are there for an actual revive? And how many are dedicated zeds looking for refuge? I don't know the answer, but even if it's something overwhelming like 90/10, I think the human population at large would benefit from wiping out that 10%, keeping the horde down, and hoping the 90% eventually coordinate a revive somewhere else should they be legitimate survivors looking to get back on the live side. The zeds have the advantage in all this except for shelter--why give that away?

I agree with that and that is why I feel revives should only be done on people who have requested them via the request form. Any other zeds can be killed as far as I am concerned. If you go to the revive request site, you can add the people who are requesting revives to your contacts. Then when you are at a nearby RP, you will see the zombies who have requested revives. Those are the good guys, revive them or leave them alone. The rest can be hacked/shot/stabbed/punched.

Some innocent people are going to get caught in the crossfire, but I don’t think a RP should be an instant safe haven for zeds. At least not with the current zed invasion.

Alright, I searched the nearby hospital and got two FAK's. Then I barricaded it up, and moved over to the warehouse. There I found, a Fuel Can, A length of Pipe, a Crowbar and a Fire axe. Now I have 3 Fire Axes, I don't need all of them. If I drop two in the Usher building, does that mean someone there is more likely to find it there?

I should catch up with the group tonight. I'm shacked up in Edgecombe right now, resting up for a night run. If someone could PM me the current location/safehouse, I'll aim for it tonight.

Nope. In the world of Urban Dead, dropped items disintegrate... Most likely because they were made in china.

I'm currently sleeping safe in Dulston. You guys should come visit sometime when you guys aren't getting rammed by zombies. I saw aTOH the other days as well.
Private gets the fastest start, but the firefighter has the steadiest growth. I recommend the firefighter.
Go Zombie. Humans are getting crushed and you'll have to generate XP as an undead eventually.

You've gotta find survivors to get max XP, though. Otherwise you're churning halved XP through ZKs, which is slow going. My survivor alt (firefighter) has more zombie skills than a zombie alt I played for the same amount of time (and abandoned) simply because I've been able to keep the firefighter relatively safe and getting maxed XP for my hits/kills.

I'd say start as a firefighter, get him/her increased axe skills at a minimum to help gain XP faster, then be willing to save up 200 XP to spend on the zombie hand-to-hand combat and 1 AP per move skills right away. You're then able to gain reliable XP on the live/dead sides.

I'm still looking for a toolbox. So far I've just picked up two generators instead...

Those are useful in case there is no one else to cade up or repair things. I'd keep it.

Well, my hideout got ransacked, I was the only one lucky enough to get out. I'm bolting to you guys right now.

Update: And I made it. 5 Zeds outside, though.

Cade is down, 2 zeds inside

I almost attacked, then it occurred to me that they may want to be revived. I don't know what to do. If not i would think it would've attacked by now.

Not necessarily. Sitting there stopping you from cading is just as effective as using the AP to attack, plus it saves them AP to do it all over again (stand, and stop the cades) while survivors will be running out of AP from killing them.

On toolboxes: We will definitely need them, though if you want to overstock (get to 110+ encumbrance), you will have to temporarily ditch it.

New guys: Make sure you are in the Wiki, or else you don't get the PMs with the orders and the locations. Also, if you need to know IRC information, post here/PM me.

EDIT: The MoB - the guys that kicked us out of Darvall Heights - has been spotted just west of us. Consider moving, folks.

Yeah, everyone should definitely consider moving out. Nowish.

Currently talking with a number of other groups with regards to a general human strategy (see: the thing Geno brought up a page back). Restock quickly - I think I know what we're gonna be doing for a while.

It'll be cool.
Healed up Sean and sp00ge, now I'm just hanging around with my leftover AP, waiting to see what needs doing.
Thanks a ton for the heal... we got ambushed earlier today and I have no FAKs.

Alright, I am in the Goodridge building in Santlerville. It is EHB, near a mall, Hospital, a few Fire Stations and a PD. Somebody come join me up here.

I also killed a zombie outside the mall.

I tired to get to the goodridge building but forgot car parks are considered being outside. Now i'm stuck outside with no way in.

Genny was just destroyed 20 min. ago in the NT bldg. an attack may be coming soon.
I think I'm getting out while I can as I won't be online later tonight.

Jake: I agree, I can't find anything but shotguns/shells here. It is better then nothing I guess!

If the group decides on a meeting point, please pm me and I'll come when able.
Good Luck surviving the night everyone, it may be a rough one!

Go two squares east to the Church. It is open.
I'm down, hopefully i'll be ok til i get the AP needed.
Damn, I wish I could grab you and drag your ass in here. They need to add that feature.

EDIT:

Well Sp00ge, I think it is a good idea, however we aren't strong enough on our own AND I don't think we would make it there.

I just left the NT bldg. and did the same thing as Jake. In fact we are standing side by side in the open like fish in a barrel.
I was a dolt and clicked on "A Carpark" while freerunning. Since when is that a decision? I'll wait an hour then try to move I guess.
3 zeds inside the NT building. Are we defending, or splitting?
Split, we are going to the Goodridge Building in Santlerville, use the nearby church as an entry point.

Everybody move out. North or northeast or something.
Anyone ever consider the ghost towns? It's a hell of a marathon, but would it even be worth it?
It's complicated, but no. For now, at least. There will be a mass round of PMs coming out soon on this.

Okay, I know this is a double post, and I know this is breaking our secrecy rules, but I'm tired of PMing stuff, and I feel safe enough to do this.

Everyone go to Dulston. It is the northeastern-most suburb. I don't particularly care where you go, but there's a mall there, 4 NecroTechs, 5 PDs, and 3 hospitals. Go there, guys. And be quick about it. I want to get back into the fighting as soon as possible.
