Any stinkers? Anything cool? Likes/Dislikes?
 
I like lumines, darkstalkers, wipeout, and untold legends. I kind of wished they would've made the MGS acid box better, but it will do.
 
I can't complaing about Viera being on the FIFA cover, he is good...but is that Tim Howard on WTS? Well, I heard the console WTS games blow anyway, so I guess it doesn't matter for me!

The only "awesome" one for me, is of course the Darkstalkers cover.
 
I guess there's a couple boxart's missing from the launch list, mainly Smartbomb, Rengoku, and Ridge Racer. Hopefully, those come in soon. I'll make sure to get those in when IGN gets them.

I like the Darkstalkers and Lumines covers.
 
Tiger Woods is really not intimidating enough to be doing game covers like that.

Twisted Metal looks like crap, although it's one game on the PSP i'm looking forward to.

He's a lot more intimidating than Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, or most others. Plus, it's his game.
 
IMO, they are all very poor. MGA and Lumines remain the only PSP games that I have any interest in, which isn't enough to sell me on a $250 system.
 
Except for the sports titles, the boxart looks awesome. I especially like Untold Legends, Spider-Man 2, Dynasty Warriors, and Mercury (well, I guess I like NFL Street 2 Unleashed as well). I'm surprised there's no boxart for Ridge Racer.

Speaking of a young black surrounded by whites, anyone notice that Tiger Woods's eyes on the boxart are looking in different directions? Or like Bushwhack Bill, is my mind playing tricks on me?
 
Man, why can't Wipeout Pure be a PS2 game :(

I love Wipeout, just not enough to shell out 300 bucks to play it. At least they should make a new PS2 one, even if it's different than 'Pure'
 
why the hell are the boxes tall like dvd cases, are they actually going to put psp games in dvd cases, or are they doing it just to have a bigger box than the ds? either way its stupid, the medium is tiny, there's no need for a full size box.

also, i had a question about that little white logo next to the "PSP" at the top, is that a sillhouette of a ps1/2 controller? again, whats the point of that? you dont use a controller for it, nor is the psp shaped like that. that just annoyed me.

They're tall like that to resemble PS2 cases, but they're much thinner. I'm not sure what the controller logo means.

all of them are pretty bland (especially the sports ones...but the great one in an oilers jersey is fine by me ^^) except for darkstalkers, mercury, and metal gear..
 
The Gretzky cover is the best of the bunch - one of the better sports games covers of all time.

Being that the 989 games will be online at launch, I will scoop up all of them! 989 is on a comeback.
 
I'm not completely sure if this is going to be the actual box, but it looks real enough.

I don't see any problems with the MGA cover. The Darkstalkers and Mercury covers are also nice. Why are we evaluating covers?

I dunno why he would say that. I own, have played and beaten Ac!d and I enjoyed my experience with it very much. I think it is a solid game (sorry bout the pun :wink:). I'll admit it is not as good as the games in the main series as far as gameplay and story go, but for a launch game it's great. I'd give it an 8.5/10. I am shocked that Sony wouldn't make sure Hot Shots Golf was a launch title. It's by far the best game out for PSP and I love it. It's just so much fun and the graphics are great for a portable game system. Oh and the Lumines boxart is ugly as hell. I thought about waiting to get the english version but now I'm gonna get the Japanese version.

They are? They have made some VERY poor sports games in the past. Did anyone ever actual buy Gameday or shootout when the first came out?

Gameday was actually a good game in 98 or 99, then Madden went 3D and 989 went down the toilet. Yes, if you checked the thread about PSP going online at launch, there will be 5 games so far that'll will be online at launch. ATV Offroad Fury, Twisted Metal, NHL, NBA, and MLB will be online.

Wow, that got taken the wrong way. I would say that the MGS series is my all time favorite on any system. But the fact is that no matter how well they sell, they always end up really cheap really fast. I was obviously exaggerating. :wink:
 
I'm not sure where... But I did read a few reviews and they were both 'so-so'. Excellent at first, but gets sort of boring within the first few hours.

I'm thinking about it. It does look really nice...

Whoa, they are listing Lumines as a $49.99 title. Same for Mercury. I sort of thought the puzzle games would be on the cheaper end of the price range.

Well, right now no one plays hockey, so it's gotta be Gretzky or some other highly recognizable name.

I heard that the PS2 version was actually pretty decent.
