Used Dreamcast back at EBgames.com
Bootleg discs kill Dreamcasts.
No one has been able to confirm this. I still don't 100% believe it. Because if it was true then SEGA wouldn't have let you play music CD/CD-r's through the main console.
I just plugged by DC back in to a VGA box..awesomeness. All of you new DC owners need to track one down asap.
Is it that much of a difference? I may have to buy one. I just ordered a dc yesterday. Is there a specific one I should look for, and where can I get a good price on one?

 nice username

Either way, don't play bootlegs. The games themselves are about as cheap as buying blank CD-R's. Save Dreamcasts.

yeah but you have to understand that second gen dreamcasts didnt have that ability

I got 2 Dreamcast from EBgames.com. Both work just fine. Looks like I'll be playing Soul Calibur and Marvel vs. Capcom for the rest of the summer!

And it had nothing to do with anything being damaged.

A lot of the games did not take up much space on a CD-R, and the data was not arranged in a certain way to make reading easier on the DC's laser. At least this was what everybody from the DC scene was saying back in the day.

i really want to jump on this deal but ive got no money to spare. o well, ill just hope they dont run out or the price goes up.

DC VGA adapters are always on ebay, but I got the one that Lik-Sang carries in a white box with orange text (OOS right now).

But yes, VGA looks better than the composite AV output and way better than the RF signal. And computer monitors generally have better resolution than a television set so it's a win-win situation. I've been playing Expendable since I got my VGA box and it looks great.

I too wish Sega had stuck it out a little longer. I was really interested in seeing more titles on the DC.

I just wanted to say that the Dreamcast is not completly dead in the sense that no one offically supports or such. Companies are still making games for it! This year one game was realeasd and the in 2004 I belive somewhere around 5 were released. Although I forget thier names I know that they are out there. In japan most likely.
Playing DC Skies of Arcadia with the VMU mini games is a blast, highly recommended!
I unfortunately missed Skies of Arcadia back when the Dreamcast first came out. I was thinking of picking it up for the Gamecube, but perhaps the Dreamcast version is the way to go?

The gamecube version fixed the things the things that were wrong with the dreamcast version like high encounter rates, but I still didn't like the game.

I picked up the one from jandaman.com, looks great on the monitor, and was only ~$12 shipped. They're in stock as of today.

The audio out jack is a little sensitive, I had to fiddle with it to make a good connection, but that's pretty much the rule with those POS 1/8" stereo jacks.
/Edit/ I found that the RCA audio jacks are always active regardless of the PC/TV switch's position, so I just switched over to those. /Edit/

If you guys are new to DC, keep a look out for Starlancer, its one of my all time favorite games. You can get it for PC but I've always liked the console's better. I still play it when I get a itch for dogfightin'

I haven't played the dreamcast version of skies of arcadia but I just beat the gamecube version. I've played games with better graphics but I really got into Arcadia's story. The characters are likable and some of the side quests are very hard. I liked it because it had two kinds of combat. You can't really go wrong with Arcadia unless you have a PS2 and access to that great library of RPGs.

The GC version of SoA is still shit. The random battles are the most annoying thing I have ever played in a game.

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in...I had A dreamcast when it first came out on 9-9-99;) ...along with Sonic and Ready 2 Rumble...I was hooked as soon as i watched the intro to sonic....I ended up buying whatever games i saw that were at the most $14.99 new since they seemed to have frequent price drops, of course certain games i spent full price on as they came out. anyway i managed to get every US realeased game except Rogue Spear which i could never find cheap and i refused to buy used at the time since i was very particular about my cds...

I ended up selling mostly all my games about a year and a half ago in order to get money for a trip to florida...I didnt play the DC anymore since i had the Xbox and Gamecube...i listed every game by itself on ebay and made more then enough money for my trip(not nearly what i paid for all the games though)...I still have about 16 games, mostly all the demos, 2 systems, keyboard mouse, gun , whatever in my possesion...

I do regret selling them off and wish i sold off my Nes games instead...

The Dreamcast was the most underated system ever and was never given a chance due to the saturns failure...I was pissed when they announced they were stopping the DC and games that were scheduled to come out never did...if you want a great system for cheap look no further then the Dreamcast...untill all the games for gamecube get dirt cheap which never seems to happen to the really good games with Nes systems

Fav games for the DC, Soul Calibur, Wetrix+,Speed Devils, Ready 2 Rumble, Sonic Adventure, Crazy taxi, and of course the 2 best games ever for any system Pen Pen Trilcelon and South Parks Chef's Luv Shack:lol: which happen to be still in my possesion:cry:

If you can find the bootable copy on some p2p network i suggest downloading it, it is not only half life but the BLUE SHIFT addon as well, it was perfect...

Propeller Arena was canceled after the whole 9/11 fallout
Since Half-Life and Propellar Arena were never released is it legal to download them?
Nope, but since when has the law ever stopped anyone from downloading something?
