Wow. This off-topic discussion is epic.

I'm surprised he made it though the transport. I'm doubly surprised he made it though standing there out in public. The end was a bit disturbing although, I guess if it helps... why not.

So..... how does this work and who gets him first?
The country with the bigger charge against him or the country where the crime was committed. If does confess to the NH thing, does he get sent back to Aruba for trial or does the US , being more powerful than Peru, get to bring him back to the US for the extortion charge? Yea it's not as big as murder, but it can still put you behind bars for years.

Saw his wiki...wow I didn't know he was that young when the NH thing happened... I thought he was like 20 something back then.
Too bad there is no death penalty in Peru.
Shit.

Though he'll have a great time in jail, I'm sure, as a white foreigner who killed an innocent native female.

oh come on, he's not like a high profile terrorist or political figure....he's just a high profile murder suspect... I don't think someone is going to snipe him off or blow up his transport.

I am astonished that he killed the second girl 5 years to the day of Natalie's disappearance!

Peru should be getting him first, he will not do more then 35 years. 35 years is the max sentence in Peru, and they are lenient on people who confess (so he will probably do less then maximum).

Your forgetting that he's tried to extort a US citizen in relation to the NH Case. The US has grounds to bring this guy back to the US and question him further. If he cracks under interrogation like he did in Peru, there is a chance he will confess either to the location of Halloway's body OR point the finger at the actual person who did it.

I say let the US interrogate the dbag and then see what comes of it. Either way he's going to be put in someone's jail for a very long time.

I don't think the US has the balls to do a good sound interrogation anymore...

Not to mention that I'm betting that 35 years in a Peruvian prison is probably worse than death row in the US.
They don't have better health care in prisons over there like here than if you were a normal US law biding citizen??
Don't even bother with Gamer.
Actually the movie is Law Abiding Citizen. Good movie.
It was a great movie actually. Worth checking out.

Are you claiming we should torture the man until he admits to killing that Holloway woman?

Does justice require he pay for every crime he commits? If he dies while in the Peruvian prison, is that adequate?

Justice would be the Halloway's getting their daughters body back for a proper burial, and Van Der Sloot spending the rest of his life behind bars. I don't think he should be given the chance to hurt anyone else.

I believe that you can "break" people down without torture. Of course it all depends on your perspective of torture.

I'm also of the idea that a person doesn't have to be punished for every crime. Like if he got the death penalty in Peru (which he can't)... what would be the purpose of trials for the extortion/ other murder?

The strangest twist to me would be if the FBI/US government were sued for giving him the money that he used to fly to Peru.

They've been talking about this on Nancy Grace, and while most of it is speculation, they are experts and what they do. One person said that Peru will most likely get him first, and he will probably be sent to one of a few high profile inmate prison. Most very dangerous, not sure if any have solitude cells. He may go to one of the worst prisons, a prison which has been known for people dying for 10$. The expert said US would get him next on the extortion charges.

Personally, I am not sure if they can or not, but are big TV stations allowed to buy his "story" if he agrees to tell the whole truth if he promised to give her exact location for a large sum of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Van der Sloot is not a dangerous criminal .... he's just a stupid fucktard who can't take no for an answer and when he doesn't get what he wants from women, he kills them.

Where in a tropical location would he keep a body stored so that it would be recognizable in 5 years and law enforcement could find it?

If he dropped the body in the ocean a few miles off the coast, there wouldn't be even bones left in a few weeks.

I am starting to notice how the Dutch and Aurbians are turning their back on him as you aren't really hearing a peep out of them.

err i didn't mean body literally, guess remains would have been a better term.
If he had help (or was smart) the remains may not be recoverable.

I hope he gets beat the fuck up out side a court house. They should just throw him out in the middle of the street and let peru have their way with him.

I'm a terrible human being because I want to know if the girl he killed was alone with him simply because she dug bad boys and wanted notoriety.

lolwut?

OH, sarcasm. I get it!
Van der Bitch is retracting his confession. Said that Peru cops tricked him into it.
LOL...he speaks Spanish so he can't use, "I couldn't understand them..." He's an adult so he can't pull this bullshit act.

I saw a news special about him over the weekend (MSNBC?) and they said that the father of the peruvian chick was an influential member of the government. How much do you want to bet the father is going to have the guy "killed" while in prison? Do you think he is doing it for the Holloway family? Nope... I would not be surprised if he dies the same way he killed his daughter.

It really sucks to be him right now.

No way out this time Bitch. lol Enjoy.
