Not to be trumped in the online flesh-and-blood female host arms race by Sony and Qore's Veronica Belmont, Microsoft has announced a partnership with IGN to bring its popular "IGN Strategize" segments to Xbox Live, hosted by IGN host/celebrity Jessica Chobot (who may or may not lick a 360 controller).

Larry Hryb, Xbox Live's "Major Nelson," made the announcement this morning via his Twitter feed. A brief preview clip of himself and Chobot chatting has subsequently hit the "Inside Xbox" section of Live. IGN Strategize will soon join the other regular Inside Xbox segments and focus on tips, tricks, and strategies, hence the name.

I'd check her out on XBL except for if my 360 didn't die... Anyway, from looking at her and not hearing her open her mouth it look like she was hired not for what's "up there".

I didn't know who Chobot was until I read she became famous because of that PSP licking picture. I wonder what else she licked to get a job at IGN.

Veronica Belmont. Perhaps the photo line-up is a bit skewed, but her photos tend to show her with a bit more substance than "This PSP could be you".

I have a hard time taking IGN seriously because they are a bunch of horndogs. Everyone here is making jokes about her but I genuinely believe the only reason they hired her because she's hot. Normally I'd be willing to give them these websites the benefit of the doubt. I'm very confident that IGN will eventually try to hire the Playboy Cyber Girl of the year who said she likes video games.

At least Veronica Belmont & Cnet try to act like her looks had little to do with her getting her job.

edit: I vote Wombat, even if he is the least knowledgeable of the bunch:)
 
Veronica's got some big double dragons and she seems like the more intelligent chick, but Jessica looks like she could be a real freak in the bedroom. Than again Wombat looks more intelligent than both of them, and you never know, he's may be the kinkiest out of the three of them =P.
 
Veronica Belmont no question. Chobot looks like she should be reviewing games for Maxim. And regardless of the bikini and licking picture (which I'm sure I could find some horrifying photoshops of were I stupid enough to Google her) she's not that hot. It's almost like a G4 hire, "Well I find you to be attractive, so there's really no reason to ask if you know anything about the subject we're paying you to talk about."
 
Belmont is much more classy. Shes also very attractive. Chobot is more of a skanky hot chick who got where she is based on looks alone (reminds me of Megan Fox, cept Megan doesnt pretend to be anything other then a hot chick). Shes also more of the attention whore type which is a huge turn off.

as for Cheapy, between this vote and the sausage eating video thing, it looks like he has finally came out of the closet huh? the wife and kidd thing- was presumably just a prolonged publicity stunt ala tom cruise :roll:

I don't want my Live money going for this kind of crap, just keep giving me a nice way to play games online. I've never liked IGN and stopped going there for my news years ago.

For reliable and intelligent coverage of the industry, give me any of the following:

Tina Wood(Who already works for Channel 10 - A MICROSOFT tech blog)
Laura Foy( also part of channel 10, which noone ever goes to)
Geoff Keighley
N'Gai Croal
 
After seeing these pictures of Chobot, I am more inclined to change my vote to Belmont. She just seems more cutesy and innocent.

Why can't we let our porn be porn and our videogames be videogames?

I want hard core geeks and nerds to give me my videogame news/analysis, and that is the #1 reason that I listen to the CAGCast.
