I'd like to point out that the $39.99 price on Madden at CC is for the DS only. You'll see on the ps2/xbox/gc logo the "low price". I checked this at my CC (I work there and we've had our copies in for a few days now) and the ps2/xbox/gc all ring up at $49.99.

Don't get your hopes up for a cheap Madden cause it ain't at CC this week.

It's funny because in the ad, the $39.99 is placed over the DS one with a LOW PRICE marker placed on the PS2 one. It never really says $39.99. Just LOW PRICE.

Thats a very unfair assessment. TSD wasn't perfect, nobody is. And to crap on the OPs hard work because he missed a very small detail (which, Im guessing can barely be seen in his pre release copy since its just noticeable in the real paper) is unfair.

Then maybe it should have been noted in the OP that the price is sketchy, like "Maybe 39.99, can't tell". This is what TSD did, if I remember correctly, so this way misinformation dosen't get spread on the boards (a larger habit happening on CAG lately). I highly doubt the OP has some "pre release" copy since he posted the ads yesterday - maybe he just gets them in the Saturday paper.

I can tell from looking at the ad I have that Madden isn't 39.99, or else the 39.99 bubble would be right on Madden for the consoles.

I can probably convince Best Buy it's 39.99 easily though, so no worries.

I appreciate the hard work, but if the hard work isn't done right, what is the point?

And an apology? Please, stop taking this so seriously.

I'll give you that, but next time put ??? or "Not sure on exact price" next to the item. Some people will look at the 39.99, and some people like alfonso will see "new low price" and know it means 49.99. They don't put new low price AND the price on an item... new low price is just a place holder.

Not sure how it's a scam, since it's CC's own ad being misleading. I'll simply tell them I'd like to price match it, and if they do it, great, if they don't, I don't really care. If I really wanted to be a dick, I could go to Circuit City and make them honor their own ambigious ad, but I really don't want to go through the hassle when the Best Buy cashier will just ring it through.

I hope in the future though, you take up this moral crusade against all the scamming threads and posts though, since this is so bottom of the food chain.

And please, provide proof of the people who criticized TSD's hard work... he got us the ad's as early as Tuesday, they were error free for months, and he even did the DVD section. The guy who took up TSD's slack got us these sometime yesterday, you're acting like he got us them way early... hell, I'll type them all up when I get the paper Sunday morning if it's so important to you.

I do appreciate Wario64's hard work, but this is the one deal thread that needs to be spot on perfect every week... I already know people who cancelled their Madden preorder's to get in on this 39.99 CC deal that's not happening.

And with that, I'm being the bigger man and stepping out of this little flame war... but thanks though, you've provided me with quite a laugh to start the day off.

No question people need a thicker skin but it can also be said that people need to act with more class. Since both sides are in the wrong, Im going to differ to the tie breaker which is one person spent time doing something postive for CAG, the other merely said the work wasnt up to his standards.

And a big Razz to Circuit City for playing these games.
They could have easily put $49 next to the PS2/Xbox version but choose to do the vague low price.
Anyone that collects DVDs know that when it says "low price", the actual price is always right next to it ($39 in this case).
They even did it twice, it is listed on the back page as low price, next to $39.
Why not say $49 unless they are tricking you to go to their store?

Well, it could get confusing. Don't forget in the frys ads, they say "Low price" and an arrow pointing to another item that will share that "low price". Maybe he thought that the little bubbles connected.

Relax. It isn't like you made a 2 hour trip to just find it out, you found it out days before the release.

I agree wholeheartly. If there was some doubt as to the price, thats exactly the best way to handle it. Our disagreement comes from you assuming he was in doubt. I assume he just made an honest mistake.

Sadly, you missed my point. I was pointing out how you didnt cut the OP any slack for his mistake (stating it was pretty obvious to you what the price was and he needed to "get it right") yet right after mentioned how you felt the people at best buy would be confused so youd get it for the $40 price.

Where you got the idea Im on some anti scam crusade, I dunno. But lets be honest here for a second. You yourself said its $50 at CC. You are then going to try getting it at BBuy for $40 by PMing to CC (which, you stated is $50) Is that not at least a little morally questionable? Why not go to CC first and make them pay for there mistake of vague pricing rather than try to go to BBuy and get your $10 that way?

You may ask TSD yourself. People did criticize his work and Im betting it factored into his decision to stop his weekly post.

If he was perfect for months then I am impressed, but him being human, I doubt he was. And so far this OP made one mistake. Would he not be worthy of praise if this was his only mistake for 6 months? Shouldnt we give him that chance or do we kick him to the curb and demand TSDs return?

Thats excellent that you appriciate his work. Your statement didnt seem like it though. The guys done the weekly ads for us, makes one mistake, and you instantly say you wish the old guy was back. If you changed positions in your current job and the first time you screwed up all your new coworkers said "Boy, wish the other guy was still here" would you feel your work appriciated?

Well, it's the launch of the latest version of a very popular franchise. Go to BB and get the $5 GH/PH/PC....that's probably the best deal. Or just don't buy Madden at all, because it will be virtually the same at 05 (with a few upgrades).

Not sure what the guy in here who says he works for CC and that Madden was $50 was thinking.
Anyway, I think it was smart of Circuit City. Don't let the everyone price match when you have the good price.

God damn CC has it for $39.99 now? I just bought it at BB yesterday and had to drive 10 miles further and paid more. CC really needs to fix their ad because it's confusing as crap. First it was than it wasn't now it is?

Oh well I got ssx3, which is an awesome game. If you don't have it, I recommend you get it.
 
As a heads up for those planning on still getting in on the BB Madden deal, Playstation's site already lists Jak 3, Killzone, Sly 2, Hot Shots Fore, and UYA as GH titles. I plan on trying to convince them to give me Killzone with the Madden deal.

Well, the best way to go is to PM at Best Buy, so you get Madden for $40 and the $5 game.

Edit: Man... now that I'm thinking about it, I might really have to do that. Even though NCAA 2005 is still sitting around sealed... I have a feeling I'd be more into cracking open Madden. And as someone who has only really been buying games en masse since I joined the site a couple months ago, there are still plenty of Player's Choice games for me to get.
