I went to Circuit City and picked up NBA Live 2006 for GC at 39.99 plus the $10 gift card.
The lady said the game rang up as 29.99 but they added the $10 for the gift card.

So I guess the game costs 29.99 for GC and 39.99 for xbox/ps2 without the gift card.

According to BB.com's site, the Mercenaries game is back up to $29.99, so if there's a price drop soon, it's not yet.
