Video game big wig gets ambushed on TV show

That completely sucks for John to get screwed over on the show like that. I'd have left, too. Though he's not a video game big wig, he's just an editor for 1up.

That is insane, this is why I hate watching TV. It's nothing but crap. I'll stick to my pay channels. Thanks for the artical though, interesting stuff.

Edit: Someone needs to kick that dudes ass in a parking lot or a dark ally. And I'll be the first one in line.

I mean come on, what a douche bag. No one can copy Zoolander.

Actually he is everyone's boss that works on video game related stuff for Ziff Davis. He has more power then Dan Hsu of EGM for example.

I've seen that show a few times and it sucks. That guy thinks he is the know-it-all of Hollywood and entertainment, and acts like he is the shit.

Anyway, what he should have been ambushed about is the horrible 1up website and why the hell hasn't it been fixed.

I'll take Donny D on the next time he does a show on video games. :bouncy:
Maybe the show's producers can edit my statements into a pro-animal porn rant.

Remember last year I posted I had a friend who was a big shot there and he was asking for suggestions...we'll he's gone now.

So some self-righteous cock gets a reporter on the show, and then get's Columbine survivors to come on the show and ambush him?

Wtf?

What is wrong with America...... I think a community like CAG, the actual gamers in the world, needs to write an absolutely mind-blowingly intelligent manifesto and send it to the highest government officials possible.

If we harnessed our intelligence we could do great things - the problem is... we're all smart, but mostly lazy.

Violence shouldn't be on the medias radar... laziness should. I can see the headlines now... "Videogames lead to potato chips." At least that would be accurate. I for one haven't shot someone in the face simply because I enjoy FPS games :p

If any1 knows of the comedian russell peters, you would agree with this line "Somebody gonna get a hurt in here... some body gonna get a hurt real bad... somebody.... not gonna tell you who, I think you know him very well...."

BTW, russell is a brown comedian and you should really google some of his acts, its really funny.

Now, I am not John’s biggest fan. He is clearly playstation biased, and I like writers who are objective, but this incident is ridiculous. For this so-called great talk show to take a single-minded and ignorant approach to an issue is uncalled for.

Donny Douchebag or whatever is name is should be ashamed of himself.

I can tell just by looking at his picture that his show is probably a bunch of trash anyway.

Who was it? That "Nick" guy? Anyways suggestions don't help when you are on that website. If you bitch about one thing on there the 1up staff is all up in your grill. For example I could point out that they have an ad for a contest that has been over with for a week still showing up in the ad bar but they would just get pissed.

Donny Deutsch is a self serving pompous asshole. He has his name on some ad agency, gets his face on "The Apprentice" where Trump proclaims him an advertising guru and CNBC gives him a show to look like a pompous asshole.

Fortunately since this show is on CNBC during primetime it's viewed by like 100,000 people.... at absolute best. To do a comparison, more people own Disgaea than saw this episode.

Any guy in his late 40's or early 50's like he is and still wants to be called "Donny" like a spoiled little 8 year old you have to know is a cock face.

His ratings are 0.0 to 0.1. I don't think anything more needs to be said.

Only 3 cable news shows rated lower in June, all of them were early AM (5am-7:30am) shows on CNBC.

I won't even start on his shirt...

Yes, I will. It looks like he stole it from the wardrobe department for "A Night at the Roxbury".

this is why i hate the media they only want to show the bad points of video games. They attack us like we are criminals and all we want is to entertain ourselves and friends. Also, they screwed that guy over big time setting him up for baised remarks is bullshit.

It sounds like that whole episode was set up to bring in some ratings. Anything the media can do to give parents a scape goat, will attract parents who are either too lazy or too stupid to pay attention to their kids.

Any parent with common sense would know right off hand that they cannot ultimately control what a kid plays. If there is an ultra violent/uber cool game out there that should be off limits to children, they will find a way to play it. We've all done it.

You just have to teach your kid early on that video game/movie/TV violence is fake, and not meant to be a solution. Treat your kid with common sense, raise them to use their common sense, and they'll grow up using common sense.

indeed. Very funny stuff.

I really hate it when people blame violence and stuff on media. Parents just don't want to take the blame so they blame harmless video games. It's not like they aren't warned about the content either. All games, music, and movies have ratings on them and it's up to the parents to regulate what their children buy.
