SD thoughts -

This was the first time I've watched the show on Hulu, and the only thing that seemed to be hurt by it was the cutting away to the crowd when Umaga was beating Punk with a strap while he was in a tree of woe. I didn't mind Umaga talking at all - his voice fit his character; it was very loud, booming, and scary-sounding, and by having this feud feature his first promo, it made the feud seem more important. Punk-Jericho was really good, and I didn't mind the non-finish here, as I loved the post-match thing, and it didn't detract from anything that happened during the match. Those two, like Jeff and Edge, seem to be incapable of having anything less than a really good match. Tonight's Jeff-Edge match was a step below their PPV one, but still quite good, and I loved how the finish tied into Jeff learning from what happened at the PPV and winning as a result of that. Also, the Vince graphic with a halo around his head ruled, while the horrid photoshopping of the Raw roster for a ten-man tag amused me as well.

A new match has been added to tomorrow night's TNA Sacrifice PPV, which will also be the opening match:

Six-Man Tag Team Match
Lethal Consequences & Eric Young .VS. The Motor City Machineguns & Shiek Abdul Bashir.

News out of PWG's DDT4 tournament...

Paul London didn't wrestle, pulling out of his scheduled match with Bryan Danielson against The Dynasty. In his place, London announced the newest member of the Hybrid Dolphin Squadron (as they're going by now) as Roderick Strong, who tagged with Danielson instead with London playing the role of manager.

Los Luchas missed the tournament due to injury (Zokre's fighting a pulled muscle in his back), so the team of Human Tornado & Scorpio Sky (AKA "Dark & Lovely) took their place.

Crazy stuff in the semi-finals as the team of Chuck Taylor & Kenny Omega squared off against PWG Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks. The Bucks are megafaces, but after three or four near-falls that were actually three, the crowd turned on the champs and started screaming for Taylor and Omega. In the end, the Bucks won it despite losing the match at least three times and the crowd booed them to the back.

Joey "Magnum" Ryan challenged Chris Hero to a PWG Championship match, and although Hero won the match, Joey laid him out with the belt during the post match promo vowing that Hero won't beat his title reign.

I'm looking forward to it! You and I are also probably the only 2 guys on CAG to have TNA Impact in their recently played games.

EDIT: Well, UFC bumped it off mine, actually. But yeah.
I am not just promoting my friends and my blog, but you guys should read this debate on the Ultimate Warrior push and gives us some feedback.
I don't see how anyone could argue against giving Warrior the belt in the early 90s unless they were blessed with a time machine. He was insanely over, had the kind of physique that Vince loves, and is at least a little younger than Hogan (6 years according to ye olde wikipedia).

The constant references to politics were out of place and took away from the discussion.

Joe Vs NASH? This match should NOT be happening.

Also, NASH grew his hair again. NwO 4 life. I hope NASH wins with that JackKnife powerbomb.

Also, why is Joe so fat? I mean, you look at the Japanese guys and they're kinda big but you can tell there's muscle there. Joe looks like he's never been to a gym in his life. I know, Samoan, but still. He's billed as the Samoan Submission machine, what fat MMA fighters do you see often?

Also, someone should get that shit off his face.

I don't know who's who in the debate, but Glenn, we get it: George Bush sucks, Republicans suck, and Obama was good for defeating him in the '08 election. We get it, we hear you, but the horse is dead (please stop kicking it), and it doesn't really speak about Hellwig's ability to wrestle, be the face of the product, or anything back in that era.

Also:
I just think Warrior did long term damage to the business that someone else wouldn't have done. Such as Tugboat, another fat buffoon type wrestler who had a mullet and a heart of gold. If he defeated Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania VI, business would have tanked in the immediate future but then rebounded as Tugboat proved himself. Toot toot!
Tugboat is a buffoon who would have proven himself? OK.

While I agree with Glenn's position, Glenn's arguments are ass.

thanks for the few who gave me feedback. It wasn't a super serious debate (the site is primarily a comedy blog) most of the references concerning tugboat and politics were tongue and cheek.

Of the matches I've seen the endings have been OK except for Styles/Booker. A match between those 2 shouldn't be used to further a feud between valets.
The new TNA signees coming this week on Impact.....

Haven't two of these three been used on TNA before? (I know Raven for sure)...also, it's not like they're gonna use Raven properly. I don't even think RAVEN knows how to use Raven properly at this point; it's been about 15 years since he was used right.

Oh god, Foley's trying to be cool again. Please take this guy off of TV or give him another cage to jump off of / fall through. Maybe then he'll be entertaining.

Champion's too busy shooting the shit to actually wrestle. Foley does suck, TNA crowd.

The fuck... pedigree by Jarrett?
That's just what I was thinking. If Angle is 230 then I'm 260.
For real. Angle's not much bigger than I was at 190. Actually, he's an inch or two taller than I am, so maybe it all evens out.

While we're on the topic of TNA signees, wtf happened to Lashey? They were making a huge deal 3 weeks ago when he showed up, but after the following Impact they haven't mentioned him again as far I can recall.

Raven and Shane both have been in TNA before. Raven was actually used well during 2003 and 2004.

I thought the main event was pretty good. Sacrifice was def. better than judgement day. Angles summersault flip over the announce table was fuckin cool.

I did miss a good hour of the PPV since I went on a bike ride so I can't judge the entire show. From what I saw I can say TNA is at least trying to make the product a little more coherant compared to the past year. But yeah.... lame ending to Styles/Booker.

I though Daniels/Suicide was pretty good despite 2 bad fuckups. It was nice to see a wrestling show with a good amount of.. you know.. actual wrestling.

It's been a long time since I've watched TNA but
Gah
TNA- BULLSHIT ENDINGS.

Jarret got robbed.
isn't Jarrett a talentless hack?
RAVEN! fuck YEAH! Raven's so awesome.
and Raven a big fatty due to a thyroid issue?

Jarret still got robbed. He hit the stroke off the top rope onto a chair and fuckin Sting RUNS IN and pins Angle. Fat Foley waddles away with the now piss value TNA Title, after spending 5 or so minutes not wrestling the match. Why should I even care who runs the MEM? Aren't they bad guys?

Oh, and didn't the whole shtick about two people fighting for leadership happen before a few times with the NWO? I'm wondering if that's the point. Also with the MEM vs the TNA Front Line, is this supposed to be WCW? I know this has been pointed about before but I'm wondering if this is Russo just " shooting" and " giving a nod to the fans".
