Wal-Mart Breaks Bayonetta Street Date--YMMV
Is it really that big of a deal that you can't get a game two weeks early?

If that's a FML situation I'd hate to see what happens when you run out of tp on the john
That was a true lol moment.

I had a manager at Sam's Club offer me a $25 gift card as compensation for not being able to sell me a Street Dated game that was on the shelf by mistake (R&C Crack in time) And for the record, I didn't piss and moan and make a big scene, I just calmly explained that it was frustrating to me that someone would put a game on a shelf that can't be sold. Wasn't a huge deal to me either way, since this was only like two days before my Amazon preorder arrived anyway.
Stores breaking street date isn't a deal .
I have no idea why, but it's making me laugh in a good way.
I just find it funny.
Fml =/, was literally in that store this morning, and was so busy with the Gamestop deal, i forgot to even look for Bayonetta >_>. Probally wouldnt sell anyway though, but im definately gonna check tommorow
I mean, its not THAT bad o_O, i am just a little ticked that i literally walked right down the Xbox 360 Isle and was looked right past the case >_> (Was looking for a 1 month live card)

How does this qualify as a cheap ass game?

I also say it makes no sense for a publisher to wait until after Christmas to sell a game. Everyone will have already spent their Christmas money by the 6th. You want to get the games on the shelves in time for Christmas shopping.

That's why Bayonetta is coming out on the 5th :applause:

Update from Maryland: someone at the Brandywine Target put copies of Bayonetta for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 on the store floor (behind the glass case, of course). However, when I try to buy the game earlier today, it turned out that the store's computer will not allow the game to be sold until January 5th. Hence, one employee had to remove all the games from behind the glass case and put them in the back until next Tuesday.

I can wait til January to play, but hopefully they have this out at BBY so I get a free gift card.

Tell them you want the manager, not the supervisor. He usually doesn't give a shit and will either override it / offer you a gift card.

Brandywine, DE Target? That's one heck of a ride from MD! Anyway, I saw it for sale at that one on December 23rd but didn't think much of it. For some reason I thought this was coming out before Christmas so I didn't realize the release date is actually in January. Of course, not sure why they would want to miss out on all those Christmas sales when the game is already is stores.

I would like to know what a game publisher would do if a major retailer sold a game before it's scheduled release date. Does anyone really think they are going to tell Walmart, Target or Best Buy that they won't be allowed to sell their games anymore?

Found copies on the floor at the Walmart in Chino Hills, CA. Sadly, the Wally World computers wouldn't let them sell it to me. Sadness...

Now here is the question im facing... All of my local Bestbuy stores show the game as in stock for the 360 on their website, and even goes as far as letting me put in in my cart for instore pickup. If I go ahead and order it like that, think they would honor it?

This seems like some kind of conspiracy by the Sega, letting all these retailers "accidentally" release it early.

Just seems really strange to me, you usually don't see a game released early by so many stores, especially a major one like this.

I just checked the BBs around me in Virginia, and it's the same way. I'm tempted to try this out.

As other people said earlier in the thread, that's just how BB's site works. The same exact result pops up with FFXIII, GoW3 or any game that isn't out yet.
