I'm not a shopper at Walmart, but would anyone have an idea how long this bundle would be valid for?

Thanks!
Ha - I didn't see the forum headline before I posted. It's been a while since we had a question post.
I posted this deal about 2 weeks ago. Not sure how long it will be available, so it might be wise to take advantage of it while you can, unless there are any better offers out there, which I don't think there are.I'm not a shopper at Walmart, but would anyone have an idea how long this bundle would be valid for?

Yeah it's a seriously good deal actually. You can get a Wii U Deluxe (includes Nintendoland + other extras) in addition to New Super Mario Bros U (there are others to choose from) combined with an off-brand Wiimote for $369. BUT you can substitute a $50 Wii U Pro Controller for the Wiimote, for only $25 extra. The best part about the deal is you can substitute the ZombiU Bundle Wii U Deluxe (includes Nintendoland, ZombiU, Wii U Pro Controller + other extras) for the normal Wii U Deluxe, for only $30 extra. Is this really even a deal? Way to expensive just want for Black Friday when it will probably be around $150...
If there were any games I wanted on it outside of Pikmin 3 and Bayonetta 2 I would definitely be considering this. That's PS4 money though and while Nintendo titles are great those are few and far between, never drop in price and there's little to nothing else on it or coming. So really, you could get the ZombiU Bundle which includes Nintendoland, ZombiU and a Wii U Pro Controller, in addition to New Super Mario Bros U, in addition to a SECOND Wii U Pro Controller, all for $424. That's a serious steal. If I didn't already own a launch day Wii U, this would DEFINITELY be the deal I'd be jumping on.
Mario and Pikmin is all I see talked about. Are people buying the Wii U? What is there that is worth playing at this time?
No kidding. That is almost as much as much as a PS4 with tax. I love Nintendo but I can't buy a last generation console at this time with the new consoles coming out. It is really too bad because I love Nintendo. I grew up with Nintendo and I would probably buy a Wii U just to play the new Zelda game, but I am very disappointed that the Wii only had 2 Zelda's the entire time it was out. I don't understand how Nintendo is so out of touch with reality. I guess somethings can't last forever. Now if only the Wii U was actually worth $424.
this would have to be a deals thread before it could go off topicThere is a Wii U doom thread here http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/317260-wii-u-doom-thread-nintendo-is-going-down-and-its-taking-you-with-it/
keep it out of a deals thread.
ZombiiU is great, people bashing it are people that haven't even played the dang game, it makes PERFECT use of the tablet and the whole "Game doesn't pause when you are in a menu" thing adds to the experience, it has its "Oh damn, oh damn" moments. Are people buying the Wii U? What is there that is worth playing at this time?
I LOL'ed when I read that. That said, I still plan to buy a Wii U someday.this would have to be a deals thread before it could go off topic
I actually tried Zombie U and thought it was super fun but not a console seller.ZombiiU is great, people bashing it are people that haven't even played the dang game, it makes PERFECT use of the tablet and the whole "Game doesn't pause when you are in a menu" thing adds to the experience, it has its "Oh damn, oh damn" moments.
MH3U is freaking AMAZING, and I am SOOOOO glad I got it.
There is Pikmin 3 which is also very very fun! It can be played directly on the tablet, as can MH3U, so it is a great game while in a lobby of a 360 game, or etc, or if you just wanna lay down and play something.
Oh did I forget it is backwards compatible? So yeah I finally was able to pick up all those Wii titles I had missed out on before, and after some digging I have built myself a very decent Library. Skyward Sword, Xenoblade Chronicles, Metroid Trilogy, The Last Story, Arc Rise Fantasia, Rune Factory Frontier, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Pikmin 2 (wasn't gonna drop $40+ for a GC copy), Kirby 20th Anniversary Collection.
While there are tons of games for the Wii, but only a few for the U, the Wii U definitely has a pretty strong library at the moment if you take it into account.
Keep in mind this is for two extra games and two pro controllers. That is a a huge savings. Now if only the Wii U was actually worth $424.
When you break it down, basically all you get is an extra pro-controller free (compared to the bundle MSRP price). You pay for everything else. Hardly a "serious steal" when you are paying MSRP for everything.Yeah it's a seriously good deal actually. It should be. Considering the PS3 and the 360 both have base-line models for $200. The next gen systems are priced $400 and $500.When you break it down, basically all you get is an extra pro-controller free (compared to the bundle MSRP price). You pay for everything else. The general feeling is that the Wii-U is a gross failure in the market, and needs a dramatic price cut. So for anyone that's waited for the past year, a "free controller" shouldn't even come close to moving the needle. $249 holiday bundle is my magic price point, although an argument can be made that the MSRP should be permanently dropped to $249...
Pikmin 3 is fun, but not extremely long or filled with a lot of bonus stuff (probably why you never hear much talk about it).Are people buying the Wii U? What is there that is worth playing at this time?
Well most people don't talk about ports. I mean, who is going to be won over by Mario power up / costumes in Tekken Tag Tourny 2, tablet perks in ME 3 / Darksiders 2 / Batman, or silly mini games in Nintendoland? We also see a lot of people bogged down by half assed ports / multiplats, like Injustice (No DLC for quite a while) and Batman Origin was said to lack online on the Wii U.Mario and Pikmin is all I see talked about.
Actually, I see the talk about Pikmin much less compared to before it released.
Most games can be played on the tablet, since that is the main selling point. The only exceptions are games that seem to directly require play from both of them, though even the wonderful 101 had that ability.ZombiiU is great, people bashing it are people that haven't even played the dang game, it makes PERFECT use of the tablet and the whole "Game doesn't pause when you are in a menu" thing adds to the experience, it has its "Oh damn, oh damn" moments.

Give me ONE SHRED of evidence of that, I have been hearing "Will have a price drop within months" since it's release. Nothing yet...There is not a single reason to pick up a wii u if you consider library and cost right now vs what it will be during the holiday season.
trolls like to talk a lot of shit about the wiiu. you just gotta ignore their "predictions" and general asshattery.Give me ONE SHRED of evidence of that, I have been hearing "Will have a price drop within months" since it's release. Nothing yet...
The reason the Basic is a failure is because people don't buy a new console without a game and the premium cost $10 less than the basic + a game at launch and it came with additional "goodies".“If the price is actually an issue [with Wii U], then there is some contradiction between the current sales balance between the Basic and Premium versions of the Wii U. The basic version should have sold a lot, but the fact of the matter is that people are buying more of the premium version. So the issue is not there.”
i dont know where you shop, but those arent CAG prices.Keep in mind this is for two extra games and two pro controllers. That is a a huge savings.
Wii U Deluxe $350 (lowest price)
Super Mario Brothers U - $45 (lowest price)
Zombie U - $25 (lowest price)
2x Pro Controllers ($45 lowest price EACH = $90 total)
$424 sounds a hella lot better that $500. Keep in mind that $500 is lowest prices too on the games, both those games retail for $60, so at full price for everything you can bump that $500 up $560.
3DS got an $80 price drop, and it STARTED at $249. The 3DS also doesn't have nearly the competition the Wii-U has (and is about to have). I think the reason people expect the Wii-U to have a more substantial drop, is because it is actually already losing the competion (badly) against the PS3 and 360.There may or may not be a price drop, but if there is one I wouldn't expect it to be more than $50. Many retailers have been giving away a $50 gift card or game if you buy a Wii U, so I don't see value in waiting for a price drop this year. I would say get it now or wait until sometime in 2014 when there may be a more significant price drop of at least $100.
Look at the sales charts man. Obviously Nintendo has been reluctant to make the permanent MSRP change, but they ultimately don't have a choice. It's 100% inevitable, the alternative is that NO RETAILER will stock the Wii-U on a go-forward basis. The numbers are that bad.Give me ONE SHRED of evidence of that, I have been hearing "Will have a price drop within months" since it's release. Nothing yet...
1. Nintendo already has said they will not be dropping the price any time soon. 2. There are a massive amount of games announced at E3 and coming out in the fall and next year, that are big time games. New Smash, New Mario Kart, Wind Waker HD, New Zelda, ETC. If EVER there will be a price drop, it will happen AFTER all those games come out, and if the sales are good enough after that, they might not even drop the price at all.Look at the sales charts man. If they do nothing at all they won't even have 1% market share this holiday. I say at minimum there will be a semi-aggressive holiday bundle ($299 with 2 games, but I could also see more aggressive $249 with 2 games). The only question after the holidays is what the new MSRP will be, and if there are changes to the SKU's (more internal storage on deluxe, drop the basic model entirely)
I hope you don't actually believe all of that...1. Nintendo already has said they will not be dropping the price any time soon. 2. You can wish all you want but guessing "Oh a $299 with 2 games bundle" is pretty crazy, and people have speculated, pretty much gone "I guarantee after a few months there will be a price drop" and have been wrong again, and again, and again, the best you could of hoped for is a $50 giftcard deal that has been somewhat re-occurring.
Nintendo DOES have a choice, and whether or not a MSRP drop would be smart, it just wont happen these holidays, so don't get your hopes up. There might be a retail specific sale for it, but not from nintendo.
You can't have all of the above 1-5. Especially #2 and #4.The Wii U desperately needs a price cut even if Nintendo CEO'S don't want to make it happened. Once the PS4 and Xbox One come out this holiday season most stores are gonna either make a price cut themselves on a sale or move them back to their warehouse making more room for the new consoles. There is still no new game coming out this year that is going to move units anyway. Most are coming in 2014 if they don't get delayed. Even then the Wii U library will be smaller compared to the PS4 and Xbox One by 2014.
Reason why the Wii U is bad.
1. Should have been called Wii HD.
2. Should have been more powerful at least 3X-4X times than Xbox 360 or PS3 if they don't want to compete with X1 or PS4, still they would receive decent ports.
3. Should have been more PC like architecture.
4. Should have been priced at 200$.
5. Way Better launch titles.
This.You can't have all of the above 1-5. Especially #2 and #4.
For $349 it should have been a more powerful system, no doubt. At least a bigger gap between PS3/360, and they also should have never created a "basic" version. It should have been standard with 64GB or 128GB and that's it....
The Wii-U was indeed a stupid marketing name though. Should have been Super Wii. Or a new name entirely. Wii-U ended up confusing alot of casuals/non-gamers, and general confusion is probably right up there with price/value for the biggest factor why it isn't selling.
1) Not really a valid reason. By the same token you could say the 360 was a bad name, since turning 360 puts you at the exact same place you were. Same with the 720 people were begging for.Reason why the Wii U is bad.

A lot of people discount the tablet controller, which is where a lot of the costs are most likely going. Looking at all the people claiming the Vita will be saved by the PS4 and demand for the PS4 + PSV (and people saying the PS3 + PSV can match it), I wouldn't say Nintendo was on a horribly wrong path. Like the Vita might have more range, but the Wii U has ease of use. For instance you can push the - button on the gamepad and this would switch screens in Pikmin 3. The gamepad can also act as a remote, so it has some neat tricks beyond that. You can't have all of the above 1-5. Especially #2 and #4.

There were commercials on basic TV channels (Fox, UPN [I am not calling it the CW], NBC and the like) and of course on Cartoon Network / Nick. However, these ads were very poorly done and you could easily come out of it more confused than you were before.This.
I don't think a price drop will even do much, considering most consumers have no idea what the box even is.
Sure, there are CAGs and diehard gamers who have held out, but Nintendo has done such a poor job marketing the Wii U, let alone how it's different.
Maybe I'm watching the wrong channels, but I haven't seen a single commercial since the launch period.
And on top of all that, I don't see a price cut likely as they're already selling it at a loss.
Is caving in and dropping the price really going to outweigh the increased losses? Probably not..
I do own a Wii U, though. Before someone calls me a troll or Nintendo hater.
How did they screw the pooch on the Wii? It might not have impressed third party companies or the hardcore fanbase, but the console still sold more than the PS3 or 360...For my $.02, I see the problem with the WiiU being the absolutely horrid release date. They brought it out when the 360 and PS3 were going strong because they realized they screwed the pooch with the Wii being a "next gen" console.
If they had released something on par with the 360 and PS3 when the current gen was starting, they wouldn't have even needed the WiiU until this fall when the Xbone and PS4 come out. But they needed a stopgap to attempt to catch up with the 360 and PS3.
IMO it all comes down to them releasing a console to compete with the 360 and PS3 that couldn't compete. (Wii)
