ive been trying to get vagrant story (ps1) for a while now...

ive seen it at gamestop for 39.99 in busted up cases....

i ran into it today for 29.99 in fye...

had to pick it up...

good or...

no...

?..

Does the fact that it's not GH make it more valuable? I think not. If you ever go to trade it in, they're not going to give you more money because it's in original packaging.

fyi, the fact that it is not GH does make it more valuable...so you think wrong

personally, i dont care whether its gh or not, but if its nongh, i will get more money for it when i sell off all of my 300 some games in 10-15 yrs

btw, ign gave this game a 9.6
videogames.com gave it a 9.6 (are they the same damn thing?)
gmr gave it a 9
gamepro gave it a 5 out of 5
and so on

some ppl must've liked it

In the 5 years I have been buying and selling Playstation games on eBay, I have seen no pattern of price difference between the GH versions and the original versions.

Many people talk about prefering to avoid that neon green or red label appearing on their games, and some will shop with those requirements, but there is no price diff on the open market.

However, I do not know how this applies when the GH version is upgraded with new features, like the original Tenchu (PS1) or Silent Hill 2. I imagine the price for a upgrade version of a game is only "hot" if you hype it in your item desc., or if the game is in fact rare.

I myself did go back and find an original US/NTSC Soul Blade after thoroughly enjoying the GH version -- The GH version had a plain B&W disc label, and ads on the jewel case insert; the orig had a color illustrated CD label and game artwork on the inserts. This is the only game I have ever done this with. A completist might go the distance in an auction, but I personally have not seen any pricing trends effected by whether or not a game is a greatest hits version.

Most of the time people selling the GH version wont mention that it is preferring the buyer to find out when they get it in the mail. Sometimes purposefully advertise the non GH cover art because they know it'll sell before a GH cover would.

the greatest hits labels are ugly as shit. Collectors like to have non GH versions of games. If you are a collector, it may be worth more to you, if you are Gamestop or EB buying it from a kid, you would not give a shit.

this game is great! i just got it recently and i ABSOLUTELY LOVE!!!! THE BATTLE SYSTEM! its so cool...more games should have it like it..you get to choose body parts to attack rather than the whole enemy..this allows more strategy, which i love...plus the graphics and cinimatics are really good by ps1 standards...im glad i picked it up :D

I am a collector and won't buy anything GH. If you go on ebay and look for Xenogears the difference between GH and Non-GH is very big. If it's all about playing the game then who cares.

I got it for 15 bucks brand new and non-GH at my KB Toys about a month ago right before it went out of business. So was it a good buy? Yes. But compared to mine no.

My friend was going to give this game to me free, but I wouldn't take it because it was a GH version, despite the fact that it was still sealed.

Instead, I went online and won an open copy of the non-GH version for $40. Advantage - ME!

wtf! you shouldve just taken the gh one and played that one, and then keep the non gh one for value...that's wut i wouldve done....

People say they're collector's and they want the non-GH because of the "value". Then why does it matter, because a collector isn't going to sell his/her games. So a collector is, in a sense, the one losing the money.

The non-GH comes in a double case and has 2 cds. The GH version comes in a single case and I think has only 1 cd.

Personally, I think you're crazy to pay almost double for a non-GH verson. But it's your money. I would maybe pay an extra buck or two for a non-GH version, but probably not. To me I'd rather get the GH version of two games I want to play for the same price I'd pay for one of them non-GH. (Saying they are both double the price for non-GH.)

If I had my choice of either GH or non-GH at the same price (and there was no extra content in the GH) I would almost certainly take the non-GH version.

situation....

if you've read the previous posts...you would know that i bought a brand new sealed non gh vagrant story for 29.99 at fye....i was given a brand new sealed gh version from my brother (sealed with the sticker, but not the plastic)....which one should i keep? i have the receipt for the non gh version, but not the receipt for the gh version

opinions!?!
