We Love Katamari ships way early

I was at Target/Alpine/Grand Rapids MI this afternoon and didn't see it. Good for you, those who can get it!

didn't have it at the golf mill Target. But I drive by there to get to oakton every day of the week, so I'll keep y'all posted in the Chicago thread :)

Thanks, OP. I didn't doubt you for more than a few minutes :)

"What's up with that??" The booklet art is a GREAT cover, why did they have to go with that fugly World-of-David-The-Gnome-lookin' house? It makes the game look like it's intended for 7 and under. The first thing I'll do after I get this is make a copy of that cool booklet artwork to cover up the "we're gay for Barney KKK" cover that Namco went with. It's really appalling, but don't let that sway your decision, if $30 sounds high, get it at Best Buy for $24.99 w/GGC when it's officially available.

Oh, I saw 187: Ride or Die for rent at Blockbuster during the last week of August. It even had the date on there labeled 9/01/05. Needless to say, no one was renting it, thank goodness. Funny how the PS2 seems to always have the greatest (katamari) AND worst (187) exclusives.

EDIT: Since when do the booklets have alternate covers? I don't think I've ever seen that with any of my PS2 games. It must've been a last-minute change from someone in marketing. Do any of you really prefer the real cover? (I wouldn't normally care so much about something like this, but Katamari is such a great game, and I love recommending it to people, this cover makes it even harder to convince anyone of it's greatness)
So, how's the single player aspect of the game? Is the game worth $30 to you?
It's not dramatically different than the first in single player, turning is a LOT easier now thanks to a tweak they did with the controls. But I'm such a Katamari junkie I don't mind that it's more an expansion pack than a new game. In my opinion it's definitely worth 30
i dont' believe your pics....please include a pic of yourself with your girlfriend holding the game with a can of whipped cream up her ass with the receipt stapled to your penis and your girlfriend's mother having the letter C on her left asscheek, A around her asshole and G on her right asscheek all while your girlfriend plays the game with her tits on the screen...'til then, i'm calling bullshit on this thread
LoL. Im assuming this is a take on the skit from the chappelle show where he was talking about how much evidence he would need to say R Kelly was guilty.

187 Ride or Die isn't a PS2 exclusive, as it's on the Xbox, as well.

I'm all over this... Huge fan of this series of games. In fact, I pretend my testis are katamari and I try to roll them around... until I relize I just became a unic.

lots of games have manuals with different covers than the box art :)

Don't worry, over-explaining a joke won't ruin it.

The Target on N. Academy in CO Springs had 3 copies left this morning.

The Target on Powers in CO Springs and at the Colorado Mills Mall in Lakewood didn't have it.

it was at the target here in Lubbock, too. They know they put it out too early, but apparently Target's policy is "If we put a game out early, we won't take it off the shelves."
So, how's the single player aspect of the game? Is the game worth $30 to you?
Without question. While it is true that the single player game is more of the same, it's exactly what I wanted --more. The way the game acknowledges its fan base in every aspect of the game is really cool too. There are plenty of surprises to be had, none that I'll ruin obviously, but be absolutely sure to do the training mission and zoom the camera all the way out...

The new single player game is worth the price alone, without even considering the AWESOME new co-op mode and the fantastic new music!

Houston, TX.

The Target store on Westheimer Rd. a mile outside the beltway.

They now have 3 copies left. Top shelf 2nd rack, on the right.

I'd cross-post this to Gamefaqs, but I fear my "mad" photoshop skills aren't quite good enough to provide teenagers with pictures. Oh well...

I just called the 2 Traget stores in my area, one said they don't carry it at all (she was a rude idiot) and the other said they don't get it itn until the 22nd.....*cry*

Called EBGames, the guy didn't seem to know much about the game. I guess he thought I was asking about the first.

He said, "We have it." but was probably talking about the first. He then said it's not out until the 21st and won't let me have it. I have it pre-orders. That's not fair at all. Maybe I could buy it at Target and return my sealed copy from EB to them.

From a poster on GameFAQs:

I WORK at Target. I'm the Electronics Specialist in my store. We got the game in either Wednesday or Thursday (I'm not sure which--we didn't have it Tuesday night when I left but we did Thursday afternoon when I next came in). I bought my copy Thursday night. 29.99. No street date on the game, so anyone who says they can't sell it is wrong, whether they're lying or just uninformed. The correct DPCI for the item is what was already posted, 207-12-1493. Go to any Target you like and ask them to check if they have that item in the back. If not, ask them to do a Merchandise Locate for you on the register. Shouldn't be too hard to track down, just don't forget to take the DPCI with you.
i'll check the miami area to see if that statement holds true.
My boyfriend checked it out on the computer at work but go right ahead.

omg my secret source is out

I tried calling two stores in my area, one of them said no, the other went and checked, and said no. They might not have wanted to tell me over the phone, but after going out for the Best Buy thing I didn't feel like going out again. -_-

yep, miami sucks... we dont have it here... so anyone living below the tampa area of florida (ie. miami, the keys, etc), don't expect anything.

There's 2 Targets in my town, 1 had it 1 didn't. Who knows what the story is as to why some are stocking it and some aren't.

Well, from what Lulu told me, it's not that the Targets in Florida aren't stocking it, it's that no store here has even received it yet.

Right, they haven't recieved it.

Mine had it, but I bought Burnout Revenge and X-Men Legends 2 instead. I'll wait until it's at Bestbuy and use a coupon.
