Its a pretty bad idea.
can i use a GGC on a game system(like a PSTwo)? or is it for games only, or is it YMMV?
I'm guessing you can. $5 off any video game software or accessory $19.99 and up.

They aren't supposed to let you do that, as a system is neither software, nor an accessory, but they might let it slip through if they are being particularly nice or unobservant.

Funny enough, I just scanned the ad with the watch. Sorry for the crappy scan, the pic of the watch is small as it is in the ad.

If someone bought a PS2 last week, could they bring in the receipt to best buy and receive a $20 gift card, or would they have to actually return it and buy it again to take advantage of the deal? Any help appreciated.

I might end up buying Halo 2 at Target since it's on the way home after school. I have it preordered at GameRush, but I'll hopefully just be able to cancel since I doubt I'll be able to go to that midnight thing, anyways. Free strategy guide is better than nothing, so if Target has the LE Halo 2 on Tuesday, I'll get it there.

I don't think the free gift card promotion includes the purchase of hardware. The OP wrote the gift card is free with purchase of video games or accessories.

Thanks, but no thanks... I just take the guide.

Thing looks like those watches Burger King and McDonalds used to put in happy meals or kids meals

Too bad Godzilla: Save the Earth for Xbox has been delayed. I have about $30 in BB gift card money I was hoping to spend on Godzilla today. Oh well.

Yeah, but for people who can't get/don't want the guide, the watch is better than nothing.

Chances are, they'd probably give it to you. It's at least worth a shot. You can't return the new PSTwo on the old receipt though, because each system is scanned for the serial number, which is different for every one.
BTW, can you price check the target deal for halo2 at best buy? get a free strategy guide, and use reward zone certificates? if so, best buy here i come!
Yes it'll work. It's like this:
The price Match with Target is a price match put in manually by the clerk. The 100,000 reward points is in the system already. Finally, Reward citerifcates are just like gift cards. Don't try to use a GGC with it though.

Thanks for the post Wario!

Might have to see if I can get Halo 2 w/ the strategy guide using a rain check at Target.
Wow, you can get a Gamecube for like $80

Not bad.
Nope - just tried at my bestbuy. the 20 gc for 100 spent only applies to games and accessories. not systems. *sigh*

I think I might get Halo 2 and Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door at BB and get the free $20 Gift Card. So basically, its like $30 for Paper Mario. Not too bad, been waiting to play Paper Mario for a while. I just wish they had Mario Tennis in on Tuesday...

No need to pre-order for an item as big as Halo 2. You'll usually get better deals on release day. It's not like they'll be a shortage of copies. They'll be plenty regular and special "limited to a zillion copies" edition.

The LE copies are supposed to be limited to just pre-orders, but since stores like Wal-Mart and K-Mart don't get many pre-orders, they'll still get the LE's in and end up selling them. Otherwise, there would be a reason to pre-order.

Could someone please scan the target ad which shows the free strategy guide. I went to the target site, but it only shows the normal Halo w/ the free Strategy Guide. So if someone can please scan the target ad showing the free strategy guide that would be awesome, becasue I lost the ad.

I noticed the original Halo is still $24.99. The sequel's out and the first STILL hasn't dropped to $20. That's something you don't see everyday.
aw hell yeah!!!

who else is going to get the Only The Strong DVD at CC for $6.99?!?!

deal of the century!
picked it up months back at ddd for 5 something

Just picked up my Halo 2 LE this morning at Target, with free strategy guide. The strategy guide is thick! Definitey get it at Target if you have the option, probably the best offer for Halo 2 right now

Does anyone know if you can pre-order a DS at Best Buy this week and get a 20 dollars gift card? I also have another coupon that says that. Hopin I can put 110 down on the Ds, get my 40 bucks in Gift Card, and put those to the DS. Total Cheap Ass!
Too bad Godzilla: Save the Earth for Xbox has been delayed. I have about $30 in BB gift card money I was hoping to spend on Godzilla today. Oh well.
Delayed!? I checked the nearby BB and they had them in stock but the idiots there said that they cant sell it till Tuesday. There is no release date on the AD.

Re: Best Buy $20 gift card with $100 purchase
I was wondering if it had to be $100 or would you still get the $20 card if you purchased 2 games totalling $99.98? If not, are there any really cheap items to pad the sale to get above $100?
Thanks for the info.

I'm pretty sure it would have to be at least $100. For cheap filler, you might find GBA link cables (3rd party) or game cases. I haven't really looked for the lowest cost accessory, but there is a good chance it'd be for gameboy.

I can confirm it has to be over $100 total. I bought the Halo LE and Headset (old one was broken so I splurged) to get over the $100 level. Also the manager at BB wouldn't let me use my GGC and get the gift card as she said the GGC couldn't be combined with any other offer.
All the Target I went to sold out of the strategy guide.... any idea on how to get it?
Call every Target near you, if they don't have it, try to get a raincheck. New sale starts tomorrow, so you don't have much time.
