Welcome to the new CAG Forums!*READ ME FIRST* To do list & requests taken inside...

hmmm... this is very interesting. I like it! And I actually like that post counts aren't visible in posts. Great stuff, I wonder how long you guys have been working on planning the new layout seeing as obviously some thought has been put into it.

I don't see a link to the cheap ass chat.. any way we could get a button for that up top?
Post counts are important, IMO because of the reasons stated above. If you think you are super cool based on thousands of posts then whatever floats your boat...
Shouldn't post counts not be important? I only have about 150 posts because I wanted a new name and I couldn't get Cheapy to change it. I had almost 4000 posts on my other account, but decided to drop that in favor of getting the name that I wanted. I don't mind having a low post count. I don't really care if anyone knows how many posts I have.

Seeing if someone is a newbie is pretty easy to tell by their rank and when they joined which is still displayed in each post. If you still want to know their exact post count, just click on their name.

The giant empty posts are from users posting a single sentance along with the space created by avatar etc...nothing can fix that I guess

Also, a collapsing thread button would help. I'd love to collapse a post after I've read it therefore limiting the space of those giant ones! I'm not sure if this can be implimented but I bet I'm not the only one who'd like to hide away something once it's been read.

Also, the gamertag spot in the avatar column is gone...maybe it should stay that way to minimize empty thread space though.
Try it. Block someone who's started a thread, and see if you can access it or not.
Ahh very cool. It shows that they made a thread, but the post shows the user as being on my ignore list. Not planning on ignoring anyone, but nice to know how that worked.

Yeah, in general I don't think most people will use it much but it is a nice feature to have.

Cheapy, is this thing going to stay around? I was trying to fix the GameRush thread, and I got this error.

The text that you have entered is too long (11439 characters). Please shorten it to 10000 characters long.

This is obviously a very rare occasion that this limit was exceeded, so I wasn't sure if it was changeable (although I'm guessing it can be turned off).

I miss the quick forum jump pulldown box. It made forum hopping so much faster.

I don't see the links from the front page at the top either.

Don't forget to update links to the board reflect the new location.

Much nicer than before.

Heh, I'm not a mod anymore, Cheapy must of finally given me the boot, since I haven't posted much for a while.

Ooh! You can save your PMs as XML, CSV, or plain txt. Now I can finally clear out my PMs.

When you quote someone now, it only quotes the last person to comment. No more huge quote trees?

I also don't see the gamertag field in the profile anymore.

Yeah! VB...I am a big fan of PHPBB but once a site hits a steady 150+ users on all day....I think you need VB.

Hopefully now the site will run much smoother. Fresh setup is great.

I'm sure this has been asked but since this is my first time just now seeing the new and improved CAG...Are there no more post counts for individuals?

The site looks pretty good, but:

*Individual posts take up too much space
*Stored PM limit is much smaller than before
*Where did the smiley box go?

Good stuff.

However, I come as a bearer of sad news today as I was a victim of avatar theft! Oh the HUMANITY!

I really can't express how much I love this. It's the little things...

Like, I enjoy having sigs turned off, but sometimes people are like, "Check out my sig!" and I don't feel like turning them back on just to see it. Now, all I have to do is check their profile and BAMF! There it is!

The smiley box is still there when you post a message, just not with the quick reply.

slimpip, you stole Basketcase's sig.

Also, guys, hover over the link of a thread, and you'll get a preview of the first post. Lets you see whether it's worth the trouble of viewing the thread or not.

O_O in that case it shall be changed. My avatar, even tho duplicated by the nameless >=/, will remain the same despite the theivery committed!

Ohes Noes!

Great new layout, my eyes had to get used to it though.

I agree with the posts taking up too much space...its on the list.

I changed the PM limit storage to 150

Smiles are on the drop down on the reply screen...its got a pic of a smiley on it.
edit: I added the smilie box in addition to the drop down.

Ok guys, im gonna take a little break...don't break anything!

this reminds me alot of other vbulletin boards

when i first found this place, it took some getting used to, so i'm more at home with the new setup

go cheapy go!

So.I dont konw if this was asked already... but where is the link before that said "view my posts" that listed all the threads you had posted in. Is that still available?

Just search for posts and put yourself under user name.

Oh wait, that gives posts, not threads.

Okay... I figured it out. Before Subscribed posts and the thing i was talking about were two different things. Now whenever I post in a thread... its automatically added to the "subscribed posts" listing... COOL! Although is it just me or is text input slow. Is it my computer?

Good Job CHEAPY! :notworth:

It's at the bottom of the window now.
You can't edit titles of threads after you post them. That definitely needs to be fixed.
Don't know if anybody saw that post but that issue definitely needs to be addressed.

This layout is...confusing. It'll take some time for me to get used to. I'm glad CAG is back up. Hopefully our search will actually start working now. ;)

Bravo on a color scheme that doesn't suck.

Weird how you have to hit the quick reply button to activate it before being able to use it, though.
