I was reading around Slickdeals and found out this tv was on clearance at BB and decided to go try to snag one. I went to my local BB (215 & decatur) and they had none but told me how many each other store in the area had and each store's prices were different so I went to the location with the cheapest price. The chick told me they "should" pricematch other store's price though.

The tv is 720p/1080i resolution

This is pretty much a nationwide clearance but the price varies from store to store.

Maryland Pkwy - 5 ($276, 6 before I bought mine there)
Henderson - 11 ($425 i think)
Best in the West - 1 ($375 i think)

This deal has been on sd/fw for some time now. It is extremely ymmv and most stores do not price match. The best thing to do is go to a store and have them check inv. @ stores and prices. Otherwise you will be wasting alot of time. Unless you are near a store that someone has posted and says they have in stock. Even then the sd/fw lurkers will scarf them up if they see a post of a store with them in stock.

$533 at the Ames IA Best Buy. I'll check back about once a week to see if the price drops any more. It's a pretty slick looking TV. I know I'd be happy with it if I could get it in the $300 range.
will BB honor a printed out receipt for a price match?
No, they're too easy to fake. Well, you might get lucky with a really stupid employee... but they'd have to be really stupid. Like Wal-Mart employee stupid.

This had been on slickdeals for awhile - our local Best Buy was $480 and wouldn't price match but then they looked it up in their system and let us know a store about 45min away had it for $349 so we took a short road trip. Very nice TV for the price.

Veronica Mars, how do you get clearance items to show stock numbers online? I'm going back tomorrow to see if maybe the price will have dropped for Sunday. Do any of you know when BB typically adjusts prices on clearance items?

I got 2 of these last weekend for my bedrooms at the Altoona, PA BB for $302.00 each. I went back to score a third for my dad last night and they were all gone they had 6 left when I bought my 2 last Sunday. The sweet part of the deal was the CSR even let me use my 12% RZ coupon even though she should not have, bringing my total from before tax from $602.00 to $530.00.

Hey wait - I live in Las Vegas. A good deal found in Las Vegas? Oh my god, it's Armageddon, isn't it?

*scurries off to get another TV*

thx op

Just got back from Best Buy again, this time I asked the guy to check the prizes/stock of the TV in the surrounding area. He gave me a bit about how everything within the district will be the same price, but I asked him to check anyways. I found that they had the TV for $280 about 45 minutes from here, but were out of stock. They also had the TV at two places in Nebraska on the cheap, the one place I remember was Grand Island NE for $260 and they had 6 in stock! Unfortunately, that's a very long ways away from here, so I won't be getting it. But I will still continue to check my local BB over the next few weeks to see if they drop the price any more.

While visiting my girlfriend up in Hadley, MA I decided to check out their BB for this television. They were sold out, but the associate was kind enough to do a district search for me. The search revealed that both Manchester, CT and Meriden, CT each had about 6 in stock at clearance prices.

Manchester, CT - $407.99

Meriden, CT - $368.99

I was considering driving to Meriden, but remembered the 10% off coupon I wanted to use was only valid on tv's $399+. I wound up getting it at Manchester for essentially the same price... about ~$367 before tax and my 5$ rz coupon.

A decent chunk of my tax return, but from the reviews and considering what I'm upgrading from I think it's money well spent!

Has anybody had any luck getting this TV at the BB on 7300 Guilford Dr in Frederick, MD? I'm going there to try for it tomorrow.

Had several still in stock at Best Buy in Mankato, MN.

Why, you might ask?

$589 -- that's why. (And yes, I did confirm this was the same/correct set).

Wow! This is a great deal, I might go to best buy soon to check, I hope they have it...
Anyone got the ad that shows the deal?

there is no ad...it is an internal clearance of a product they don't carry anymore, thus the different prices at different Best Buy's
Why so cheap?
From what I've read it was a model ordered specifically for Black Friday 2007... a premium version of another similar model they sell. What set it apart was it's 2x HDMI inputs for one, among a few other spec bumps. Plugged mine in today to check it out and it's really sweet... thinking about playing it safe and going back for the 60$ 4 year rebate... just in case.

Ive got a lesser model (32w6) and they are pretty good tv's. Standard definition looks like crap, but High def is pretty damn good looking (though not on par with the higher name brands.)

Here's a list of stores that the SDer's mentioned it was in stock at,(though some are OOS) and at the cheaper prices-shamelessly c/p'ed from SD(starting @ $279 and going up to $467.99 on the high end):

* Union City, CA $279 each, OOS!
* Manassas, VA - $349.99, OOS
* Pentagon City, VA - $369.99, OOS
* Baltimore, MD - 2
* Blaine, MN - 2-6 left as of 2/23 for $354
* Flaggstaff, AZ
* Rancho Cucamunga, CA - $375 (RSS result Feb 9 afternoon)
* Montclair, CA - PM to Rancho Cucamonga only for $375 (2/9 8 PM)
* Geary St, San Francisco, CA $381 -OOS
* Palo Alto, CA - OOS
* Santana Row, CA - $389
* Colorado Springs, CO - $358.99 - around 10 in stock on 2/10 7pm
* Acworth, GA -$349 (Just north of Atlanta) - OOS
* Valdosta, GA - $374
* Rockford, IL - $399 - 13 in stock 02/08/08 11:00 AM
* Algonquin, IL - $389 - around 10 in stock on 2/8/08 6pm
* South Downers Grove, IL - $449 - 3 in stock on 2/13/08 9pm (use 10% off or have
mgr give you 10% bringing the price down to $404...12% would sweeten the deal by
a few bucks). As of 2/19/08, 1 left in stock but price was $599. Wouldnt price match.
* Evanston, IL -

Should just call, give them the model number, ask if they have any in, and the price?
I read the post on slickdeals, and the guy says not to call . for some odd reason...

God...Last time I called there I remember having a 30 minute horror story to tell...
but it beats wasting gas

Just picked mine up from Elk Grove, Ca for 379. BB in Roseville, Ca has two left but they want 540 and would not price match their own store.

Also anyone want to share some of their settings? I plugged this baby in and found there to be a lot of adjustments to make. And they can dramatically change the picture. Not real good at this so any help would be great. Also do they make dvd's that help with this too?

Actually, SlickDeals had a list of settings for people to try too. Lemme see if I can find that list.

Video settings to try for this tv:

TV Settings:

Those who have it, optimal settings can be found here

Green 28
Blue 31

Best video setting.... (brightness, contrast...)

Brightness 11
Contrast 45

Backlight 35

Use warm setting

I'm going to head to BB again tomorrow to see if the price has dropped yet, and if it hasn't, if I can get them to price match another store in the district around $350 or better. I'll be sure to post back with results, but I guess I don't have a whole lot of faith, but you never know, right?
An RSS at my local store in Col, OH showed 1 store location that had this tv prices at 320.00, all others were retail
you wouldnt happen to know which store it was would you as I'll drive there today to snag myself one.

thanks

No luck. Only store near my area that has the TV is in Salsbury. However, the guy that helped me did say that BB's will price match each other.

how did you get that setup to show you that?

Way off topic, but this is the first time I've ever seen someone run their cable across the middle of their wall.
