So this holiday season is realistically the last hurrah for the PS2 as all the developers will most likely devote their attention to developing games for PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360. So games are you all looking forward to getting in the next couple of months?

I'm looking forward to these titles:
Lumines Plus
Rogue Galaxy
Okami
Valkyrie Profile 2
Final Fantasy XII
Mortal Kombat: Armageddon
Phantasy Star Universe
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner
 
a) Guitar Hero 2!

b) This is almost certainly not the last hurrah for the ps2. Maybe you can almost say that this time next year; we'll see.
 
The Playstation 2 wins this fall/winter. The only system that comes close is the Wii... Anyway, for the rest of the year, I'm getting:

Final Fantasy XII CE
God Hand
Guitar Hero 2
Lumines Plus (assuming it doesn't get fucked up)
Okami
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner
Tales of the Abyss
Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria
Yakuza

I'm not counting older stuff that I need to get still and I think Rogue Galaxy was delayed until January... but the PS2 still has an absolutely amazing lineup for the rest of this year.
 
The last 3 games I'll be getting for my PS2 are Okami, Guitar Hero 2 and God of War 2... unless I'm forgetting something!

There may be a couple more, but these are no-brainers to me. Especially since I am enjoying the hell out of Valkyrie Profile right now I can't wait for that one.

It's not coming to the states, but I recall that an interview with some SNKP guy revealed that MS6 might make it onto the collections coming out later this year.

That would be preferable. I would love to get all of the arcade Metal Slug games on the Wii.

Okami, FFXII, Guitar Hero 2 (and subsequent Guitar Heroes potentially), Yakuza (maybe), and Rogue Galaxy (maybe)

They did, though I don't know the score off-hand.

Instead of pointing to a game that got a higher score at Famitsu that got a slightly cooler US reception, why don't you point to a game that scored similarly? For example, Lunar: Dragon Song got a 27/40 from Famitsu, whereas God Hand got a 26/40. It's a game I want to like, but low scores from Famitsu is never a good sign.
 
I've only heard rave previews from the American game press, and I've seen nearly ever piece of footage that's been released. If the game turned out badly, I can't see how.

I'm chalking this up to Famitsu not accurately representing American tastes in gaming, which it shouldn't.
 
I think we're hitting the final stride now with Final Fantasy VII: DOC, Disgaea 2, Xenosaga 3, Valkyrie Profile 2, Final Fantasy XII, Phantasy Star Universe, Guitar Hero 2, Okami and the final nail in the coffin will be God of War 2 in February.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot about Rogue Galaxy and the new Shin Megami Tensei game, but I think the rarest will probably be Ar Tonelico because it's Atlus...:roll:

But I'll probably just get it because it is Atlus :wall:

Every time I say something like "FFXII, Valkyrie Profile 2 and Okami will be my last 2 PS2 games" I remember that this will probably be one the best PS2 release periods in its entire run.

But hopefully I'll be playing God of War 2 on a PS3...if the system doesn't completely suck or break down constantly for people who bought them.
 
Probably the last 2 I can think of(unless I see one pop up that I change my mind) that I will get are:

Final Fantasy 12 - Got the Collector's Edition reserved
Kingdom Hearts 2 - Just waiting for a price drop

I just ordered Disgaea 2, so it should come today or tomorrow in the mail.
I really can't see me buying much else. I am getting Phantasy Star Universe, but for 360. I just don't want to buy a bunch of games that I will never get to play much, mainly because I am REALLY psyched about PSU for 360 and also Wii, which comes out in November.

Who knows, I may get some others. I have my eyes on Valkyrie Profile 2 and Tales of the Abyss, just now sure if I will get them yet.

Well I just got Disgaea 2 and Xenosaga III. I have Final Fantasy XII(collectors edition cause I am gay like that) and Okami pre-orded. I don't see much after that of up and coming games. I am going to try my damnedest to get Disgaea and Guitar Hero before they are both gone forever! I might get God of War 2 and might be some games I can't think of. Other than that, I am looking forward more to the Wii and some Xbox 360 games. man is it weird having a Xbox 360. Meh, I like it.

I'll probably get some more PS2 games eventually, especially since I think the system will be supported for at least a few more years (if PS1 had 2005 sports games I would think PS2 would get at least get new games up to 2009 if not longer) and I have no plans to get a next gen system in the near future. I'm just not going to pick up any other new release games this fall/winter because I'll just get the games in next years TRU or CC clearance.

QFT. Exactly what I was going to say. I still have games from the first half of this year to pick up and I've still got a copy of God of War waiting to be played. I guess I'm just not willing to throw down 50 bucks for any game anymore.

The one game I have my eye on among everything else doesn't come out until 2007. And that game is Rogue Galaxy, this generations Skies of Arcadia. I have no need to get FFXII, since I prefer to control the battles myself, and not let the CPU A.I. do all the work.
 
god of war is going to suck i think but thats just my oppion

i would like to get final fantasy XII .. the new godfather game i think would be cool since im a huge godfather game... that games not really new thoe
