What are you plans for Black Friday?

CAGiversary!
For the uninitiated:
Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving, which is incorrectly referred to as 'the biggest shopping day of the year' or 'the day on which retailers move from the red to the black' [ie, making money]. It is, however, one of the few weekdays which
A. a lot of people have off and
B. almost all stores are open. So they try to take advantage of that fact by offering megadeals, especially in the early morning [6-9 AM or 6A-12P].
So: What are you plans for Black Friday?

Side discussion: Is it legal/moral/"right" for websites to post/discuss a retailer's prices/ads before the prices are valid [such as the site linked above]?

Where is working? I don't give my guys the day off, I'm not taking the day off.

However, anyone with prior access to black friday sales would be held by some sort of confidentiality agreement.. posting said sales prior to the date they are allowed to be posted would give the retailer recourse in civil court. However, I severely doubt its illegal.

I'll check the ads on that site, and then pick up anything I like a couple days before Black Firday...Then I'll come in to the store and have a price adjustment on the item.

I'll be in West Palm Beach, FL visiting family for Turkey Day.

I may hit the stores, just for the novelty of it all (and to take some pics).

If I don't find a better job soon most likely I will be working on Black Friday having to put up with long lines of customers directly....ugh....

I'll be working as well, usually a lot of parking lot claims. I'll be the only one in the office, so I'll be playing some GBA, so it's not all bad.

d'oh, I totally forgot about working : )
My employer doesn't give off, but many people [myself included] take a floating holiday that day. I don't see how to edit the poll?
There was a big case last year or the year before where that confidentiality agreement came into play with another site discussing prices, complete with Cease and desist letters and everything. My company [not a retailer] basically says you can't discuss company 'details' including new products, features, or prices, unless A. you have authority to do so and B. you're discussing them with someone who 'should' know.

I think I get the day off of work....yeah. Nice LONG weekend.

I'll probably avoid the stores though....since people suck on that day

I may actually participate in Black Friday the proper way this year (by getting myass up waaaaay early). Last year I went around 9am. I'm going more for the novelty. My friends have told me some pretty insane stories from past years.

Ill be hitting up Best Buy, EB/Gamestop, and Target only if they have something I really want. Last year I went to BB and got The Simpsons Season 1 and 2 pack Ace Combat 4/Midnight Club for PS2. Im hoping for more Simpsons, or Futurama or Family Guy this year.

!!!! A possible CheapyD sighting at the local Bestbuy? :)

Since I have no family I will be camping out for the first time. It's the first time I have extra money to use. I'm looking to snag a laptop or giant tv :p

I think the deals state that you can't do this. You must buy the items on that day to get that price.

That may be true for some stores, but it has worked for others in the past, so I'll take my chances.

I'm visiting friends and family AND hitting up some stores on friday. Last year, my friend and I stood in line for 2 hours to buy only a few things. The lines went through every aisle on the appliance side of teh store, it was insane.

"I'll watch the ads, see if anything good is on sale, then hit that store"

If i see something that i want on sale, such as a digital camera or the new pstwo, I'll prob start camping at 12. Otherwise im not going to bother going through that hassel for a few cheap items.

I got a pretty good haul last year, and I plan on getting even more this year. I am scour the ads, and camp out with my friends. We are hitting up separate stores, in order to get everything.
