What are you watching on your Netflix (or going to watch)?

Actually watched on the Wii, but there's no thread there. We just watched The King of Kong. Enjoyed it quite a bit, though it is a bit slow at the start. Definitely gets a lot better as it goes along. Previously we watched Moon, which was fantastic.

Finally catching up on Dexter season 2 since now it has an expiration date.

Though looks like Butch Cassidy and Mad Max are going to be available on streaming Friday AKA awesome.

Where do you find out things like that?

I'm looking forward to My Winnipeg. Can't wait to see that finally. Also, if you haven't seen it yet, definitely check out Paranoid Park when it's available on streaming (or get the DVD). Great movie.

I was shocked to see that they have The Messenger up on streaming already. So I added that and It's my next movie. Been wanting to watch it since it released.

Got my girlfriend into watching Angel. Almost finished with Season 5, then probably going to start on Buffy.

Might watch Dollhouse inbetween, not sure yet.

Netflix should get some sitcoms though. I like their TV show selection as it is now but maybe something like The King of Queens would be pretty awesome.

Edit: Apparently Hulu is coming to Xbox 360 so this will remedy my sitcom issue. Woot!

According to a report over at Gear Live (via G4TV), a "very reliable source (who has never been wrong before)" told the tech site that Microsoft is going to unveil Hulu, the free online video service that streams popular TV programs, as an additional, integrated service for Xbox LIVE.

The service currently is free, though it is speculated that a subscription/fee structure will be applied to the service in the near future. Whether it will factor into an Xbox LIVE price hike or if the fees will be kept completely separate (as is done with Netflix) is unknown.

The announcement is expected to come at this year's E3, just several days hence, but no official confirmation has yet come to light.

WARNING REGARDING EXPIRATION DATES ON INSTANT STREAMING:

As many of you who use the service know, Netflix is usually pretty bad about putting up removal dates in a timely manner, often doing so a week or even a day before removal. But they always actually put them on the site.

I just signed up for FeedFlix and they noted that 2 movies in my queue expire at midnight tonight. Netflix's website said nothing in my instant queue, nor on the specific page for each film. But I did just check my queue on the Xbox itself and it did list the removal date. I guess PC-only watchers are fucked; not sure about PS3 or Wii since I don't use Netflix on those.

So, if you are worried about movies being removed, join FeedFlix. They also have removal dates for the next 6 months at least, along with titles set to eb added and the dates for when those additions occur.

Yes, however, my own experience is that these expiration dates don't always really mean that a movie/video is going to go away. For example SpongeBob Season 3 has expired multiple times, yet has never gone away, each time getting a new expiration date. I.e. Netflix must make a deal that gets the movie for a period of time and then when it's ending they re-license the movie. Not that no movies go missing, but certainly Spongebob Season 3 has not.

I'm looking forward to the Netflix update that adds searching, but actually not so much because of the searching (though I do want that). What I'm really hoping is that the update also brings massive performance improvements for lower bandwidth connections, because on my low-end DSL service, Netflix on the 360 sucks balls. It is *way* better on our Wii. There I get no hiccups at all and the quality is superior, by a wide margin. Well, except for the 3 minutes that it looks fantastic on the 360, after which it jarringly goes to a black screen, says it's adjusting for changes in the network, and then looks astonishing horrendous for an hour.

I just finished the first two season of BBC's Robin Hood. Really love that show. Also watched Justice League: New Frontier and Batman: The Mark of Phantasm. Both great movies.

Nice call on Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Easily my favorite Batman movie. Plus according to Coming Soon To Streaming there's going to be alot of stuff coming July 1st including Sarah Connor Chronicles and others (including more recent TV fare).

Other then that I've just been watching more Mystery Science Theater 3000. Santa Claus is friggin hilarious. Also watched Rob Zombie's El Superbeasto and kinda makes me question more and more how the hell Rob Zombie gets work. Friggin terrible.
I've been watching some Avatar: Airbender in preparation for the movie and I'm really enjoying it. How many seasons are there?
Three books/seasons if I remember right.

I watched a great documentary recently called Mine, about the pet rescue effort in New Orleans after Katrina. It was really well done.

We got Netflix like last week and I watched all 5 seasons of LOST and now I'm finishing season 6 on hulu because its not even available on Netflix dvd queue. This show is so fucking awesome, I don't know why I have never seen a single episode before this. What an ignorant fool I was for calling this so gay so many times to my friends.

Haha... I had a friend who was the same, but he grew to love the show. It's my favorite of all time. Season 6 wasn't available because it and the complete series boxed set aren't out till August 25th.

I marathoned the entire series before each season premiere, and I'll do the same when I get season 6... then again when I get them all on Blu-ray (don't like the style of the complete collection; only have 5 on Blu for now). I've seen every episode of seasons 1-5 at least 5 times, and season 6 twice (series finale 6 times).

Yea I don't see how you can understand or get all the references without having just seen the entire series before watching a new season. I think it was ultimately best that I waited until now to watch them so I can watch them all at once and not be subjected to the torture of waiting each week for a new episode and all that time in between seasons. This show just has way too many insanely grabbing cliffhangers, I don't know how anyone can tolerate it when it was airing live.

The only problem is avoiding spoilers, especially the season 3 and season 6 finales. But I can't stand when people shit talk the show after jumping in at say, season 4 episode 8, and complain about how it doesn't make any sense. Of course it doesn't! And I can't even explain the series to them up to that point because that would literally takes days.

As for the cliffhangers, imagine how I felt waiting after the season 3 finale! And season 5, too... especially since I hated the way that ended, even though I liked the episode as a whole.

Catching up on Season 5 of Weeds. Totally forgot all about it being on there. Had to watch a couple of season 4 to remember what was going on. Pretty cool show.

I hate when they post removal dates only 5 days before the actual removal. There's no rhyme or reason as to when they do it. Now I have 3 seasons of TV shows being removed on July 1st. Luckily, they're only 10 episodes each, but I still doubt I'll finish.

I just joined Netflix today. I watched District 9 earlier and just finished The Stepfather. District 9 was excellent, I wish I had watched it earlier. The Stepfather was exactly what I expected it to be, which isn't saying a lot. For $9/month though, this is awesome.
Just watched Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. It was decent.
I watched this today, too. I liked it more than A New Frontier. Much better voice acting and fight scenes.
Just watched Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. It was decent.
I watched this a couple weeks ago, and yeah.. it was definitely decent. Nothing to write home about, but wasn't an official stinker, either.
Just watched Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. It was decent.
I watched this last week and what bugged me the most is why did they pick William Baldwin to voice Batman. It is not like having him voice Batman is going to bring them bigger numbers, just use Kevin Conroy and make the fans happy.

I rented that on Blu-ray a while back. None of the recent DC animated films have impressed me. None were bad... they were just "meh". Marvel's been outdoing them in that area as far as I am concerned.

"That Mitchell & Webb Look" is hilarious IMO. Wish they had Series 2 & 3.

That's Numberwang!

I hadn't used the Xbox netflix in a while and wanted to see if there had been an update to it (it doesn't work well for me on my low-end DSL connection), and was surprised to find that it wanted me to activate it again. I guess if you don't use it for a while it gets unauthorized. Somewhat annoying. Oh well. There wasn't an update, so back to not using it. When are we suppose to get the update that was announced at E3? I'm hoping it also includes better (much better) handling of lower-bandwidth connections.

Having watched all of Lost, all I can say is imo it is average at best and pales in comparison to shows like BSG. Unfortunately BSG isn't on Netflix.

What other movies are available to stream? I cued up Justice League: A New Frontier and I'll watch that next. I've already seen Batman: Mask of the Phantasm and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker. I like the superhero cartoons and other than the 90s Batman series I really haven't watched anything. Any recommendations (that I can stream)?

That's about it for DC animated features besides Superman/Doomsday. I wish Marvel would toss up their animated films. Dr. Strange, Hulk VS and Planet Hulk are all pretty good films.

I can finally join the leagues of people watching Netflix on the Xbox. Previously it performed terribly for us on our 1.5 kbps DSL service and I had to use Netflix on the Wii, which played much better since it stuck to ED (480p) video. We just upgraded to 3.0 kbps service and now, at least so far, Netflix on the Xbox 360 is working great. Figured I'd mention this as some might be wondering what speed internet service you'd need for HD netflix streaming.

I did notice, though, that Raising Arizona, for example, showed some annoying jumpiness when the camera pans/rotates quickly, which I presume is still an connection speed issue. Does having faster then 3.0 kbps internet help with that? It's not enough to stop me from watching, but I do wish it didn't happen. In fact what I'd prefer is if there were an option to switch to ED mode (i.e. 480p), where it would only stream ED video, then upscale to 720p/1080p. I'm perfectly happy with the quality I get from DVDs that are upscaled, and so I'd rather the streamed video were upscaled ED, if that would get rid of stuff like that jumpiness.

I have been watching a BBC show called Coupling and it's pretty decent. Watched the girl with the dragon tattoo and that was interesting. Heard they are now setting up for a USA version

Watched seasons 1-5 of Weeds in the last couple of weeks and I love that show. Watchin Robin Hood from the BBC right now and even tho I like it I think a Robin Hood show should be more Spartacus-like. There should definitely be more people dying and some blood. Not on Hulu streaming yet but I also watched Breaking Bad seasons 1-3 and It's always Sunny in Philadelphia in the last couple of weeks also. Breaking Bad is a really really good show, everyone should watch that. I watched Batman Mask of the Phantasm and really enjoyed the old-school batman.
I highly recommend "Black Dynamite" Awesome subtle spoof of 70s "blacksploitation" films.
I'd hardly call it subtle, but I've been recommending that movie to people since I saw it in limited release in Irvine last October. fucking hilarious.

The only reason I say subtle is because it's not like a Hot Shots/Scary Movie over the top spoof.
