Everyone can rattle off a list of the rarest games for a system, but that doesnt mean that your interested in aquiring them.

I want to know what are the rare/expensive/hard to find games that you are looking for. Games that you may have wanted for years, games you feel that you may never get ahold of.

For me there are a few Saturn games that I would love to check out.

Metal Slug X (I have for ps1, but SS version is supposed to be much better)
Dungeon and Dragons Collection
Elevator Action Returns
Castlevania Symphony of the Night (my fav ps1 game ever, I want this version!)
Radiant Silvergun (what Saturn fan doesnt want this game?)

I also would love to get the second Lunar boxset for PS1. I have the first and I want that damn pendant! lol

I personally would like a mint complete MATCHIng boxset of the sierra classics. I have almost everyone currently most are in great shape but they are mixed release etc.

I guess I would say for collection purposes my wants would all be PC games.

I'll always be looking for the sealed versions of Metal Slug for the Neo Geo AES.

Other than that, I'm looking for a sealed Zelda Oracle set for the GBC and a sealed Valkyrie Profile.

Intelligent Cube for the PSX or maybe Earthbound for the SNES. But I'm pretty sure I'd end up playing IQ for 10 minutes or so and then lose interest.

I used to have Suikoden 2 but I Ebayed it to help pay for my 360.

Aside from that I'd probably say Dragon Force or Metal Gear Solid 3 Subsistence LE. I have a few others that are difficult to find but that's about it.
Earthbound for the SNES
Yes. Probably the most expensive game I really want. I've always just hated myself for never buying it (or demanding that my parents get it for me for Christmas). I had to have rented it half a dozen times, but never got to finish it.

I would say Bubble Bobble or the GI Joe games for NES, but those I could get pretty easily if I was willing to spend a bit more money, which I will at some point.

For me...

Aliens vs. Predator arcade machine by Capcom (Final Fight clone).
X-Men arcade machine by Konami (another Final Fight clone).
G.I. Joe arcade (I can't remember who made this).

I want all of those because they were never ported to home consoles.

Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
Shining Force CD (Sega CD)
Shining Force (Sega Game Gear) - I saw this once at a flea market but didn't get it.
Vay (Sega CD) - I used to have this but traded it like a moron.

Tha's all I can think of right now.

NES:
Bubble Bobble 2
Chip N' Dale's Rescue Rangers 2
Duck Tales 2

SNES:
Ninja Gaiden Trilogy
Aero Fighters
Secret Of Mana

Genesis:
Toe Jam & Earl

PlayStation:
Strikers 1945

Currently, I really want a copy of X-com for the PS1. I have it for the PC, but it runs so damn fast that I can't play it anymore. That and the video card is slightly messed up doesn't help either. I could get one today, but hey, I don't want to get into the bidding wars on eBay.

TBW

Suikoden II. I played it way back when it first came out but never owned it. I love the game, and I want to own it now. I'm still holding out hope for a reprint tho.

Other than that? Hrmm... Used to be Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, but I got that from someone on here about a year or so ago. I guess I have a few games I'm kinda looking for, but their not incredibly rare or expensive - such as Tsuganai & Wizardry for the PS2, since they're the only 2 Atlus PS2 games I don't have right now.

Nothing comes close to Suikoden 2 for me tho.

A stand up Galaga arcade machine. If I ever finish building my cocktail cabinet (so close!!) I am going to immediately start on a Galaga replica.

Well, i wished, i still had Giana Sisters, Dungeon Master, Impossible Mission etc. for Amiga.
And yes, some of the Sierra & Lucas Games titles as well.

Guile, for the record it was Konami who made that GI Joe Arcade game. If it weren't for MAME, I'd have never gotten to play it either as none of my arcades carried it

Marvel vs. Capcom 2
Street Fighter 3: Third Strike
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Galaga
Ikuruga

If i am even semi-rich someday There will be a Daytona USA two player sit down arcade machine in my house.

If I'm really rich, there'll be about 6 of them linked up together for the ultimate lan fun!

I still remember seeing one of those at walt disney world or something, there were about 6 daytona USA machines, all with 50 inch projection screens and indivdual race cars for each player that moved with the steering and action on screen.. drool.

SFA3 may not be too hard to find out of all those. I snagged 2 copies a while back.

None, for me.I have no problem acquiring any games I want to play badly.I just snipe an ebay auction and just play it,after that just resale it.Most of the time I break-even or make a profit due to the rarity.

I finally got one of my grails earlier this year. A Tekken Tag Tournament arcade cabinet. :)

As for grails I have yet to obtain...

Earthbound(SNES) - CIB/MINT. I really want this and have some excellent stuff for trade in case it comes along my way. Chrono Trigger(SNES) CIB/MINT, Suikoden II Complete/MINT x 3, just about everything else.

Stadium Events(NES) - CIB/MINT. I know I'm dreaming thinking of finding a complete Stadium Events, but I believe it is out there. :)

That's about it pretty much.

Oh man, Disney Quest? I remember that setup -- that was incredible... I could go there and just play that for a whole day.

Yeah, I´d sell them...For only for great offers...

Master System:
- Phantasy Star (Brand New Sealed)
- Phantasy Star Gold Cart (for the japanese Mark III) This one has FM Sound (so the soundtrack is MUCH, MUCH better).

PC Engine Duo:
- Dracula X: Rondo of Blood

Sega CD:
- Lunar: Silver Star
- Snatcher

Sega Saturn:
- Magic Knight Rayearth (Brand New Sealed)

PlayStation:
- Valkyrie Profile

Dreamcast:
- All Bleem! versions (Gran Turismo 2, Tekken 3 and Metal Gear Solid)
- Eternal Arcadia Limited (and HUGE) Box
- Yu Suzuki GameWorks Vol.1

PlayStation 2:
- Castlevania Lament of Innocence Limited Edition (japanese import)

Xbox:
- Steel Battalion (first version)

Klonoa 2 - Not that hard to find, nor expensive, but haven't gotten around to buying it yet.

Marvel vs Capcom 2 PS2 - Stupid expensive. I don't want it so badly that I'm willing to pay the ridiculous price it generally goes for. Reminds me that I saw it at Circuit City years ago on a clearance rack. #-o

R-Type Delta - I *cough* currently go the emulation route, but would love to have a hard copy.

Einhander - See above.

None are all that hard to track down I suppose, but with so many other titles on my to-buy list...

An SNES mouse that's as responsive as the day it came out. Goddamnit, every time I buy one it's got the sluggish click feature. Can I goddamn please just play King Arthur's world without slamming on the button?

One of those miracle keyboards, too.

the rarest game i have ...

Power Lords -- CIB -- Odyssey 2 ... but, I do have a complete Odyssey 2 set....
Super Mario Bros. fullsize pinball machine

Dont you have a gameworks over there?

Thanks, I don't know why I couldn't remember that. I have played Capcom's Alien vs. Predator game on MAME a long time ago but not GI Joe. That GI Joe game was so cool in the arcade.

MarkMan, what does CIB mean? I know it's probably a stupid question.

home alone for snes.... just because it was the first game for my first gaming system. Its cheap but ill still never buy it most likely

Wow, I have quite a few of those already. Anyway, I want Earthbound. Back in the SNES days, I rented all the time and beat Earthbound by renting. I never bought it when I had the chance and I still regret it.

Complete in Box.

I've got quite a bit of the stuff people mentioned, and I've acquired most of the games I REALLY wanted over the past few years (Panzer Dragoon Saga, DDR Disney Mix, Burning Rangers, Firefighter FD18, Sin & Punishment, Mario Super Picross, the Starfi GBA games, etc.) but there's a few that still elude me:

Vib Ribbon for PS1
House of the Dead 1 (US version) for Saturn
Guardian Heroes (US Version) for Saturn
Zelda's Adventure for CDI
Soul Blazer for SNES

Everything else I'm interested in is fairly recent and/or easy/cheap to find on eBay or otherwise.

*EDIT* Found Radiant Silvergun and Gamera 2000! Woo ha.

Wow, alot of people lovin Earthbound. I managed to pick it up on cart a while ago as part of the 50% off classic plastic at EB, wound up costing me about $12. I checked out the beginning to make sure it worked allright, but Ive never really sat down and played it. Although I distinctly remember holding the unopened box in my hands at an EB many years ago. It was $60 new I think...

There are some all time fav nes games that I would love to have mint in the box (dont have to be sealed tho) so I could hang them on the wall. I'd love complete copies of River City Ransom and Super Dodge Ball.

And if were gonna delve into coinops and all that good stuff, all I really want is a coinop neo geo four slot mvs in great condition, and some complete games with the marque's and all that good stuff.

You reminded me that I want those too!

I personally use CIB as Cart (or any game media) Instructions Box

with my 1200 game collection i need to know ever part of a game that i have and every part that im missing....

Come to think of it I wouldnt mind having one of the DS Zelda Promo videos handed out last year at E3.

I can only imagine those increasing in value.

Also Neverhood for PC thats one I have wanted for a while.

Like some of the folks with limited/special editions of games being their holy grail, mine would have to be the PAL version of Arsenal Club Football (2004), that was autographed by the Untouchables (the 03-04 team that went the entire season -38 Games- without losing a match). There were versions that are floating about from charity auctions, but I think one never made it to North America.

That would satisfy both the game collector and sports memoribilia collector fantasies.

I dream of the day when I have 10 Battletech Tesla II systems linked together in my home....

Till then I guess I'll keep thinking about getting the X-Wing / TIE Fighter series complete with box again. Oh, if only I hadn't let them run away the first time.

speaking of pc games... Grim Fandango!!

Klonoa 2
Curse of Monkey Island
Rayman Revolution
Threads of Fate
MGS 2 Substance
Parasite Eve 2
Silent Hill 2
Thousand Arms

I want to play them, but I have a problem with putting used games into my collection.

Also, I'd love a standup arcade version of Power Stone 1.

Snatcher
Rez
Chrono Trigger (complete with box)
All three Donkey Kong Country Games (Complete with box)
Super Metroid (Complete with box)
Super Mario RPG (Complete with box and strat guide)
Paper Mario (Complete with box)
Digital Devil Saga 1 (Sealed)
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Klonoa 2
Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete
Breath of Fire III
Breath of Fire IV
Growlanser Generations
Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis

I probably have more rare games, but those are the ones I can think off the top of my head. I also have an Xbox kiosk unit and a few promotional items such as a halographic Fable poster and a God of War standee. Not really worth much, but they are cool none the less

Man I have access to a new copy of threads of fate. Cost + shipping.

championship super sprint arcade machine.
I located a decent machine in Cali 5 years ago at a good price, but only 2 of the three wheels was functional so I had to pass.
