What do you guys do to get through hard times?

I did the jogging thing and honestly that worked better then alcohol, I was in a better frame of mind to actually think of solutions to my problems instead of just passing out. And if nothing else fresh air does wonders for stress.

DO NOT start drinking or using drugs to deal with problems. That just leads to more problems. That's the equivalent of putting deodorant on a funky armpit. It doesn't help at all.

It doesn't?

Here's a couple of things.

Listen to Music. Not that depressing music that makes you want to off yourself but something else.

Video Games. GTA4 for example. Tear through the streets and off as many pedestrians as possible.

Movies. Comedies are where its at.

Working Out/Running/Lifting Weights.

Good Luck OP.

I guess I'll throw out my two cents; everyone else is.

Enjoy some music: Nothing uplifting, try some whiny emo shit. The whinier the better.

Play a video game: Don't keep it simple, you don't just want to have fun blowing shit up. Instead try something more introspective, like Braid, and get lost in your own thoughts.

Watch a good flick: Be sure to avoid Pixar films, they are an easy path to depression. Instead, try a good old fashioned Darron Aronofski film, like Requiem for a Dream.

Don't try to do any strenuous activity, like working out, or running. Try staying at home while wallowing in self-pity, preferably with the lights out and the blinds closed.

God-speed buddy.

Also, please just realize nothing stays the same. Everything changes and this to will pass! I was broke as hell in college! Keep fighting my man and study hard!

I know it's probably not a popular thing to say in forums but prayer never hurt either.

I had a good laugh. Thank you, sir.

Correct, it's counter productive. Once you get out of the slump then have a drink. Getting active is probably the best thing you could do. It's healthy and you'll start felling good about yourself, and other people will notice that. Might help you make a friend.
