I like single and multi player so that doesn't matter.
Only tell me what you like and why,
I don't need to hear, that game sucks unless
you can give a logical reason. Also add any I miss.

Battlefield 2 and FEAR are both great games. Probably the best two games I have played all year. Battlefield 2 has an expansion pack coming out in two weeks, so you may want to wait on that and see if there is a combo deal (I would wait for EB to put out their black friday flyer before I picked it up as well because they always have a high profile game for 20 dollars when no one else does).

FEAR has probably the best single player experience of any game this year. The firefights in this game are just amazing as the AI is incredibly smart, which makes them a ton of fun to fight. I have been playing it constantly since release and will continue to play it a few more times. The online mode is not too great (CTF is a lot of fun, though there are hardly any maps)

Thanks Casey

I will have to wait on Battlefield 2 then
because of the expansion pack.

I was not impress with the F.E.A.R. MP Demo
but have heard and read good things about
the single player mode.

So thats one for F.E.A.R. I will update the OP with votes
Anyone else?

F.E.A.R. - The game ROCKS! If you want a solid single player experience, get this game. The AI is wicked. I rolled up into this one room full of badies and when they saw me start unloading, the badie flipped over a table and ducked down behind it. It was so cool to see them trying to hide for their lives. I have a copy of Quake 4 I'm gonna rip open the second I finish F.E.A.R. - That is my second pick. Battlefield 2 would be my third pick.

If you're looking for an awesome single player experience and love to be scared, F.E.A.R is a great choice.

Quake 4 offers a nice singleplayer experience and if you love 'twitch' FPS games, it continues the Q3 Arena gameplay. The system requirements are steep though.

Call of Duty 2 came out and if you ever played the first it is more of the same. This is good if you like WWII shooters and not so great if you don't

Serious Sam 2 is something I'd wait for to get cheaper. It really doesn't offer much more than its predecessor and you have nothing to lose by waiting a little to save a few bucks.

Battlefield 2 = Yes if you like having vehicles and it being a real, modern war.
Call of Duty 2 = Demo looked good(AMAZING). Its a sequel to a GOTY, I can't see any wrong to getting this.
Serious Sam II = Basically new maps, new graphics. Yeah wait till later
UT 2004 = You can get this for probably 10 bucks and is okay if you just want hardcore shooting, but vehicles do dominate too much.
DOD:Source = Probably going to be runner up to CoD2 soon in WWII Shooters this year. Its really fun but is also a new release like CoD2. I love this game to death but its like you can do the exact same strategy each round and it fails like twice out of thirty times.
Brothers In Arms = Good SP never played MP. I'd say atleast wait for it to be 20.

None above, i suggest you grab these games.

Chaser, Turok 2 seeds of evil, Kingpin life of crime, and nitro family, blood 2 the chosen

:applause:

Painkiller is a pretty good FPS, it probably is in the bargin bin right about now, so you can pick it up for cheap. It has some of the biggest and hardest bosses you'll face. A good rush if you like run and gun.

From the list though, F.E.A.R. gets my vote.

I just bought Quake 4 and FEAR and honestly, I've been playing Quake 4 more than FEAR. The atmosphere is just great in that game and the areas are so detailed (plus you get mods for your weapons as you progress which is pretty cool). When I go back to play FEAR everything just seems a tad bit bland. However, FEAR does have better AI, multiplayer (isn't as inconsistent as Q4) and crazy gunfights using slow-mo. But I just can't help this weird urge to play Quake 4.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.
Hope this helps other people too.

MastaGamer you make me want to pick
up Quake 4 right now with you description.

SOSTrooper I added Painkiller to the list.
I did hear good things about that game
even though its older.

U2K I couldn't tell if you were joking or not.
I mean Turok 2 I played that on my N64.
The Nitro Family box art makes me want to
never purchase that game, look at the logo.

Actually i'm dead serious. Because the games you mention, i cant play, expect UT2004. I have the DVD version, and its off the hook and my ATI radeon 700064mb can handle the game with ease. Quake 4, i wont be buying no time soon and the rest of the games, well i dont like them.

So the games that i posted up, i play, maybe because i run my own abandonware site and i think some of the old games are more fun then the newer ones. Its nothing wrong with the old games, people just tend to forget them because they are so focus on the newer games.

You might wanna check out chaser tho, its pretty fun and nitro family is just like the serious sam games, and i aint lying either.

( Chaser Screens )

And check out nitro family

The game wasnt made by the same people who made series sam, but the game sure enough looks and plays like a clone, only better to me.

If you don't mind oolder games I suggest Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force. It has a cool one-player story and the multi-player is really fun. I have Elite Force 2 as well but I haven't played much of it.
Battlefield 2, best MP game on the PC right now. Plus there's a lot of people who play here too.
You've only played it for 13 hours and call it the best multiplayer PC game? That's a bit hasty if you ask me.

EDIT: Thought I'd actually contribute. Don't have the specs to play it, but F.E.A.R. does look nice. Quake 4 seems too much like Doom 3, and I wasn't the biggest fan of Doom 3. I'm not exactly into it myself, but DoD:Source sounds like fun.

Personally, I'm still playing HL2 and CS:S.

I've not played a PC FPS since HL2, but I really, really like UT2004. It's fast, beautiful, and everything 2003 should've been. I never played a whole lot online as I always got "p0\/\/|\|3d!!!!!111" but it's a lot of fun, and if you can find a good server, would be fun to play online.

So far F.E.A.R. and BF2 are on top.

U2K I totally agree with you on older
games people do forget about them.
I still play Super Mario Brothers 3
to death and it is more fun than
alot of newer games I've played.

Z Saber what is your Xfire name?
I can add you so we can play on
a server sometime.

Xfire name is zsaber64, but I play quite rarely nowadays. I'm in a gaming slump, hopping from one thing to the next. I do play on what I believe to be the best server ever though. It's called Mad Seumas. Google it. Play there. It r0xorz.

EDIT: Forgot to add that I never ever have xfire on. In fact, I downloaded and haven't even run it yet.
Nerf Blast Arena is a pretty fun game.
True, i have the game sitting right next to me in a shinny jewel case.

wanna sell it. and quake 4 feels too much like doom 3

Ugh. I just played a bit of F.E.A.R.. All I can say is that I was truly unimpressed. I felt the character movement was clunky and slow. I didn't like how the weapons controlled (including not stopping as soon as I let up on the mouse. If I was clicking the mouse a bunch of times to punch and kick, I would find 2 more punches followed everything after i was done pressing the mouse button, or an extra shotgun blast). The atmosphere was boring. More concerned with trying to gross you out or startle you. Seemingly less concerned about real creepiness.

I don't recommend.

I dont sell games hahaha, i trade my games or share them. I do run my own abandonware site and forum btw. Even tho many people have mix views on the abandonware issue, i dont. I'm stuck in the oldies, so i share the oldies.

So if you wanna try a old game with another old game, hit me up on the pm box. Please note tho, i do not trade new games and i buy all of my games, thing is , i do deal with abandonware. Games thats old and stuff, and nerf is very old and it is consider abandonware.

Most abandonware sites these days, gets thier games from the net. Thats why half of them are missing files and whatever, and i buy all of my games. I have over 400 games sitting right next to me, or next to the computer, all organized, some in jewel cases and some in game boxes.

Also its a shame that ebgames and gamestop is together, because i'm looking for a few more oldies, which i might have to end up buying at ebay.

get to at least interval 5 or 6 before you complain. First few intervals ease you into the game.

and I don't know why you are having a lot of problems unless your computer is riding right around the minimum specs. Mine is slow and I have not had any problems with more shots being fired than I wanted.

I like Battlefield 2, but it's just too uneven. Some people just don't know what their doing, and it can ruin an entire game. If your going to play with CAGs, then I recommend it. Great group to play with. UT2K4 is really, really fun, and now pretty cheap.

I didn't want to go that far before making a decision. The way I see it, if I'm bored by the 3rd level, i doubt I will suddenly be enamored by the game.
