What games have you been playing lately

I sorta disagree on DeathRow... it has low replayability, IMO. I still need to get Beyond good and evil, thanks for the reminder! What about breakdown, I heard thats a good game...

Meteos, Animal Crossing DS, Prey(PC), Worms Armageddon.

Deathrow had A LOT of replayablitity for me, definitely a great game to kill time with.

Thats weird, I found it to be a good game, but that was because I got if for 5 dollars... it really wasnt that fun since most matches seemed to play out the same way.

I have purchased a handful of last gen games I have missed for the summer release snooze. They include:
-Beyond Good & Evil
-Wind Waker
-RE4
-Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

3 out of 4 made it on your list. I havn't played these titles yet (besides RE4), but I say your list is A-OK.

I've been playing King of Fighters XI for an hour or two every day since I got it. Apart from that though, I've been playing Ikaruga and I recently finished Metal Gear Acid 2. Tomorrow I'm getting Valkyrie Profile Lenneth so that's the next thing I'll be playing.

I just repaired my cpu so I've been spending most of my time with Counter Strike: Source and Day of Defeat: Source. Aside from that, I'm working my way through my backlog starting with Fire Emblem and God of War.

Some of those games I own, but am not currently playing (RE:4, Katamari, GoW, Kingdom Hearts II). I just got Bleach DS, so I've been playing that. I've also been on a shmup kick and have started playing Gigawing 2. I haven't even tried out the GBA games I got from the CC $8.96 sale (DK King of Swing, Sigma Star, Metroid Zero, and Sword of Mana) yet. My backlog grows, even in the summer....

I wouldn't say the developers forgot about the 360 this summer. Saint's Row, Prey, Enchant Arms, Dead Rising, N3 just to name a few summer 360 releases that have my interest or money already. But not to nit pick, the list was pretty damn good.I own almost all the game on the list and can agree that if you haven't played them yet, this is a great time to do so.Beyond Good and Evil is probably the best game on the list no one(meaning mainstream) has played. I would add Shadow of the Colossus and either of the last two Burnout games. Maybe even Mario Kart for the GCN or DS, I really enjoy both.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth currently owns me...well my PSP in general currently owns me-- been playing SFA3, Darkstalkers, MGS: DN, Lumines.

Brain Age every day if i can remember (20 now bitoch :D)
Darkstalkers (PSP) cause i just got it
Soul Caliber 2
Battlefront II (PSP) i love multiplayer for the hell of its
The digital graphic novel that retells the MGS 1 storyline.
Oh...yeah. Of course, I knew that. I'ma R-tard.

When I'm not running through games to figure out if I want to sell them (this takes way too much time :p)... Daigasso! Such a fantastic rhythm game. And you can't beat the big "NEW LEVEL GET" banner when you beat each level.

Currently playing...Fight Night Round III for 360, Demon Stone for the XBOX, RE4 for the Cube, Brain Age for the DS, Suikoden III for PS2, and finally Valkyrie Profile Lenneth for the PSP.

I was playing GTA LCS but stopped for a while to go back and Play Gun again( that game is alot of fun) and now im playing ultimate spiderman and DMC3 SE both great games in there own right and DMC3 SE is a huge step above the crap that was dmc 2.i see why alot fo epopel were raving about it because the music really pulls you into the game its almost up there with God Of War in that regard but still God of war is one of those games that is a mind scrambler.

and if youre looking for good games id suggest sly cooper 3 and the warriors if you want something engrossing and want a great story but sly is more of a rental where the warriors is worth buying on the cheap.

I've been playing mainly Lost in Blue and Brain Age for the DS recently.

I've been debating playing through Skies Of Arcadia Legends again since I enjoyed that game so much. I thought I'd never want to play it again once I finished it since it took so long, but I kinda feel like playing through it again.
I recently wrote an article on some games that could help you with this trickle of new releases. http://www.vgpub.com/summer-relief/editorial

So do you agree with the games I picked and what games do you think would be good?
Funny how people just read the (somewhat deceptive) headline instead of this original post.

In regards to your article, for the most part it's really good. I do think you put up some stuff that's just too hard for the everyday consumer to track down. Ultimate Muscle and Skies of Arcadia -- while good -- aren't readily available most places. Conversely, I think everyone has played God of War by now, or at least knows it's the shiz-nit.

I would have included easier-to-find, cheaper games like one of the Splinter Cell sequels or Prince of Persia: Warrior Within -- they're cross-platform, cheap, and some people may have missed them because they only played the original or most recent one.

I'd also have included Animal Crossing -- since you seemed to want to add a bunch of GC games -- and LEGO Star Wars. Rounding out the list would've been Half-Life 2 on Xbox, since it's a kick-ass game if you can get past the inferior-to-PC graphics.

Every game I mentioned -- like most of yours -- could be found for less than $30 at most retailers.

Critiquing the article itself, I believe there's too much space dedicated to a game's story. Is that RE 4's best feature? Can't we assume Skies of Arcadia has an RPG-ish story? Story summaries are good for previews, acceptable for reviews, but should be avoided for games that have been out a year. I gotta say it seems like the person who wrote the Indigo Prophecy blurb -- perfect game for the list, by the way -- only played two hours of it, max.

I wrote the Indigo Prophecy blurb. Beat it twice too. You don't want to give away too much of plot. I hate spoilers. Animal Crossing is a bad choice since you'd still be playing it well after the summer is over. I heard Half Life 2 is coming out for the 360 so people should wait for a better version. Lastly I find it better to assume the reader know's nothing about a game (especially most of these games). That way everyone can understand what you're talking about. And yes I know there is too much gamecube stuff. I only wrote about games I've played and know are good. Since I've owned a cube the longest that is how it ended up. I hoped the other staff members would've contributed more but one a piece was all they had time for, if they even helped. At least there's something for everyone.

aside from UT2004, i would say, Red Faction, Far Cry, Battlefield 2, Oblivion, and Prey.

and Evil Dead : Regeneration

I've been playing the hell outta RE4 for Gamecube lately (got it for $10 at a flea market). That and the Tetris DX I got from Shipwreck.
