What gaming compilations do you wish for? I want Castlevania.

After playing the Sega Genesis Collection on PS2 I've been thinking what other types of compilations I would like to see.

The first one that came to mind was Castlevania. I think that there are enough Castlevania games out there to make a pretty good compilation. The could put the 3 NES castlevania games, Super Castlevania for the SNES, Castlevania Bloodlines for the Genesis, Dracula X Rondo of the Blood for the PC Engine CD-ROM, Castlevania Chronicles for the Playstation, Castlevania Symphony of the Night for the Playstation. As a hidden bonus they can add the Gameboy Castlevania's also, maybe even the crappy N64 Castlevania games also. Konami like to make Gradius compilations, come on, lets get a Castlevania one.

Dude, I've been saying that same thing for like 2 years now. We need a fuggin' Castlevania compilation... though we'll probably never see one for whatever reason.

CV Collection would be sweet.

I'd also love to see a Kunio games collection. River City Ransom, Dodgeball, Crash & the Boys Street Challenge, etc...

How about a Treasure Collection? That would rock!

Well... the Gunstar Heroes Treasure Box that came out in Japan was a good start for a Treasure collection. Gunstar Heroes and Alien Soldier are fantastic.

Now that you mention it, this got me thinking... do you think we'll see less compilations in general, now that downloadable content is all the rage for the next gen? The Xcube2 generation saw a flood of old school compilations, but I could see that trend severely diminishing in the new marketplace/VC environment. Or at the very least, the collections may be skewed towards the portable systems now.

I really would like a CV collection though. "CastleVania Chronicles" for PS1 was a huge tease... it was just a port of one game!

Ive been meaning to pick that up.

A Classic Neo Geo compilation would be golden, with classic stuff like Magician Lord, a few fighting games, Windjammers, etc

Of course that would probably infuriate the hardcore Neo Geo AES collectors and whatnot

That would be a great collection. Nam1975, Super Dodgeball, etc... all the great old non fighting games for the NG.

An SNK compilation is a no-brainer, as is a Treasure one. I would have a Panzer Dragoon or Shining Force compilation myself.

All I really want is for Konami to port Dracula X: Rondo of Blood to ANYTHING.

Honestly, they don't have to make it a compilation, just translate it and port it to the DS or PSP or SOMETHING!

Catlevania would be fantastic. I never got to play SotN and after loving AoS and DoS, and looking forward to PoR, I've very interested to play it, but unwilling to buy a PS1/2/3 and the game just to play it.

As I've said multiple times, a Lucasarts PC Adventure Game pack, released on the DS.

I would not wear pants for a week in celebration.

I would like a Saturn compilation that collects Sega's best first party games for the Saturn on one disc. Then do a similar one for the Dreamcasts.

Yes, Monkey Island, Full Throttle, Sam and Max, Grim Fandango! Damn that would be awesome on DS or Wii.

Its been pentioned for nearly 10 years..however Konomi *doesn't* see the point of doing it, even if it means additional income. They rather make another really gothic castlevania game in 3d and leave the 2d games to the ds.

I'll say any compilation from Sega / Konami / Midway / Capcom with like 50+ games instead of the 15-20 we ususally get. Basically just fill the disk with as many games that will fit.

A Castlevania compilation would be awesome. R-Type would be sweet too.

Back when the Zelda Collector's Disc came out, I was wondering if Nintendo would do a similar compilation with Mario and/or Metroid in the future. At least there's the Wii Virtual Console now.

Castlevania compilation would rock. Pretty much every other major franchise has had some compliation at one time or another.

I'd love a Snatcher/Policenauts compilation but I'd have a better chance of a three-way with Kristin Kreuk and Brittany Daniel than seeing that happen.

Personally game colections in one cart is a waste of time. It is like saying hey moron you just brought all the games of the series but they are not the original games. Then you think hey I could just make my own collection disc/tape with all the emulatyion programs.

Like for example. Pocket NES which is being used with many gba nes collections.

Howevr in my personal intrest I have this idea for a Bionic Commando game. It would be so sweet with the collection at hand.

If there is going to be any hand me downs then I suggest creating a new game in the series then putting the games as hidden objects like in Donkey Kong N64 and the RARE ware space game along with Donkey Kong original.

Or Shemue which is the game that started the game within game idea even if other games do have games inside of them.

I was actually thinking of that, the other day.

I wish SEGA would release a Shenmue compilation for the PS2. I'd love to play though those, and actually finish them this time.

Here's what I'd like:
SNK
Castlevania
Final Fantasy
Squaresoft (non FF games) compilation
Enix
Sega Saturn
Panzer Dragoon
Shin Megami Tensei collection

Just thought of a couple more (though the second one would most likely never see the light of day):

-Contra
-A collection of Toaplan shmups (Fire Shark, Truxton, Zero Wing, etc)

An FF collection would be great just to not have to worry about keeping the numbers straight between the japanese and us numbering. Also the WII is just calling for a virtua cop/house of the dead compilation

I think the real problem has been that they are going to have to get multiple systems emulated correctly on one disc, and that they won't make enough money on it to justify the production. I seem to remember Konami saying something like that a looong time ago.

Notice that almost all compliations focus on one or two systems. Megaman Collection, mostly NES with some SNES. Megaman X, SNES and PS1. Sega Genesis Collection, Sega Genesis. All the arcade collections.

For a Castlevania collection, they'd need NES, SNES, Genesis, TG-16, PS1 if they decided to put SOTN on there, and a few other systems I'm probably forgetting.

I also think sales of Castlevania Chronicles on PS1 were horrible which is why they canned that series... it was going to continue if sales were good, they were looking into doing Castlevania 3 with updated 2-D graphics.

They really should re-do the NES and SNES games as a collection for the GBA as one last hurrah for the system.

well theyre coming out with a gta 3 pack so thats cool although if they do bring VCS to the ps2 id liek to see all 5 games in a 5 pack.

id love to see a jak and ratchet and clank 4 pack and a compilation of re games for the ps2 and gamecube. i agree with the castlevannia games bundle but id like one that gives you the 2 ps2 castlevannia games as well as the ps1 game symphony of the night. and id like a tenchu pack.

I don't think company's emulating the stuff will be a problem as based on the last few *classic collection* type games I bought were like dead on with graphics and sound. Maybe the *rights* to the older games are more of a problem... I've been a fan of this site, www.classicgaming.com/castlevania for years and no news about the collection for years. Now that Nintendo has NEC rights or blessing, we might see the jap version of Dracula X on the Wii. Anyhow, I am getting tired of this gothic route that the devs have been taken the series for years now.

A Madden NFL complination would be sweet. It would show you how well the series has evolved over the years.

Panzer Dragoon
Contra
Ghost's n Goblins
older NFS games (pre underground)
older Tony Hawk games (pre thug)
Twisted Metal
Jak and Daxter games
