What is the pride and joy of your video game collection?

Oh, also got a Christmas card from Nippon Ichi (Phantom Brave Disgaea, etc).

I would have to say my pride is my entire PS1 collection since everything is mint and complete. Not even a fingerprint on any disc. I had to rebuild it after I ran into financial trouble and sold my collection years ago. Took like 2 years but it was worth it.

Lunar SSSC, Lunar 2: Eternal Blue, Arc the Lad Collection, and Growlanser Deluxe, all sealed. Pretty much the Working Designs quadrilogy. Warsong and Shining Force complete mean a lot to me, too.

My SEALED games are precious to me.

Final Fantasy Tactics
Valkyrie Profile
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Bahamut Lagoon

and almost all of my other SEALED PSX RPGs.

I had a sealed Chrono Trigger and Secret of Evermore,......... but I sold CT, and opened SoE about 2 years ago, like an idiot.

My unopened PS2 HDD, free from the BETA is pretty cool.
And my Final Fantasy 9 / Bouncer, 5 foot tall holographic standee is really a nice piece.

The coolest item would've been my Starfox jacket, won at the champoinships,.... but my friend somehow got it.... :

Excellent thread! My list could go on forever, but here's a few highlights. U.S. games first, all in mint with boxes and manuals unless otherwise noted (almost none sealed; they don't stay sealed 'round here!):

Mega Man 1-6 (5 is cart only)
Star Soldier (sealed)

Genesis:
Phantasy Star II-IV
Shining Force I-II
Beyond Oasis
Gunstar Heroes
ToeJam & Earl
MUSHA
A near-complete collection of Renovation Games, mostly loose carts, but a few with boxes and manuals (they were the most prolific 3rd party for the Genesis back in the day, churning out around 24 titles, most of them high-quality stuff. I own 21 of these, including the rarest (Master of Monsters))

Sega-CD:
Lunar
Lunar II
Vay
Popful Mail
Shining Force CD
Snatcher

SNES:
Megaman X1-X3 (X2 and X3 are loose)
Final Fantasy II, III (loose, but paid $1 for the latter)
Secret of Mana (loose)
Chrono Trigger (loose)
Earthbound (loose)
Space Megaforce (loose)
Rex Ronan (loose)
....and the pride of anyone's collection.....
Mecarobot Golf (loose) (j/k)

Saturn:
Panzer Dragoon Saga
Guardian Heroes
Bubble Bobble Collection
Megaman 8
Megaman X4
Dragon Force
Albert Odyssey
Sega Ages
Shining Wisdom

Playstation:
Castlevania SOTN (non-GH)
Tales of Destiny (missing original case)
The Adventures of Lomax (great platformer, and you never see it around)
Tomba (disc only)
Xenogears
Lunar SSS
Lunar Eternal Blue
Arc the Lad Collection

Dreamcast:
Skies of Arcadia
Grandia II
Record of Lodoss War
Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike
Cannon Spike
Resident Evil 3
Giga Wing 2
Bangai-O

PS2:
Disgaea
Klonoa 2

Gamecube:
Cubivore
Ikaruga

....*whew*! I need to get a mutton chop in me! I'll be back with the import stuff in my next reply.

----Daddy

The Suikoden II that I had been trying to obtain forever that I finally found at a Gamestop in the area, yesterday. Pristine condition too and complete! :D

I ended up getting one from Wal-Mart ($29.96) and one from Coconuts ($24.99) after I had finally settled on a used copy from GameStop. The one at Wal-Mart was standing out on the shelves in the middle of a bunch of Greatest Hits and Yu-Gi-Oh titles. I could barely contain myself as I got a clerk to open the case. They were bought fairly recently as well (within the last 18-24 months).

Earthbound and Super Mario RPG seriously needs to be released on GBA. I missed picking these up at the time of release since I wasn't a RPG fan at the time.

Even though I have tons of games, I don't really have a pride and joy. I just consider my entire collection a pride and joy where I am always adding new games.

Here's a few pics from a similar topic long ago (I assume that topic was deleted since I cannot find it anymore).

Snatcher and Compton's Interactivve Encyclopedia for Sega CD...

Limited Samus Cell art and Ascii Grip one-handed controller...

Dragon Force, Guardian Heroes, Marvel Supeheroes and Christmas Nights for Saturn...

I also recently acquired a copy of Shining Force III for Saturn...

Currently my 2 NEW and SEALED copies of Sega Panzer Dragoon Saga for the Saturn.

I used to have a MINT boxed vecrtrex 3d imager but I sold it for $650. I also had an adult NES game Beach Bubble Babes that I sold on Ebay as well for over $500...

I have lots of goodies but the 2 Panzers are schweeet.

A small game store in the middle of nowhere I go to had two sealed copies of rhapsody a little over a year ago (they have lots of old, sometimes rare, sealed ps1 games). I already had a copy so I bought them for 30 each and sold them on ebay for about $120 (great when considering most went for 60 at the time when they showed up), if only I had waited a few more months. Though my pride and joy would be my "donkey kong country competition cart", paid $20 in nintendo power, seen it go for $3-450 on ebay. After that a complete and mint spiderman web of fire (32x) I only recently found out was extremely rare and had value (either bought it on clearance or when it first came out, since I bought the 32x when they were discounting them and spiderman was one of the last games released).

Cool..I have a new and factory sealed Spiderman:Web of Fire 32X ...I figured I should keep it aside...glad I did.

As for Christman Nights..I think I still have a new and sealed magazine that came with Christmas Nights... :) Yeah..I know my shit.

Last summer, my dad wanted me to go shopping with the family @ downtown LA. I didn't wanna go because it was so hot, I just want to stay home with the air condition on and watch tv. He then offered me $100 if I go, I said okay. $100 is kinda hard to come by because I was unemployeed. So yeah, we park our car on the meter, and start walking. I kept complaining to my dad, lets go home alreadly. He said "Not Yet". That was the most boring 3 hours of my life. I told my dad, imma go my separate ways, so he gave me that $100. I went to a mini mall across the street. I walked around, nothing seem worth buying, saw this air jordan I wanted, but it was for $129, so I pass. I kept walking, on the corner, there was video games stand. I went up, and see what games they got. I then saw, Original Final Fantasy 7, 8, 9 non-gh factory sealed for $20 each. I asked the Korean Lady, how about I give you $50 for all three game right there. She said "Okay". I went home, and open final fantasy 8 and 9, because I haven't play it yet. Therefore, I still have my Final Fantasy 7 sealed in my room as a trophy.

Valkyrie Profile is rare? Damn. I bought that game at Wal Mart the week it came out, hated it, then returned it to Wal Mart for NCAA Football (the one with Ricky Williams on the cover)

My Turbo Grafx/Turbo Duo collection. I have 127 of the 138 american releases. Thanks to the new a-hole resellers on ebay, those last 11 may take awhile.
you do NOT have every resident evil game...

I do not see the Tiger GAME.COM version...
OH YEAH!

I actually DO have that one buried in a box somewhere, I just totally forgot about it! (above post edited)

Thanks for the reminder!

On that note, I also have:

Guilty Gear Isuka (PS2)
Guilty Gear X2 # Reload (XBOX)
Guilty Gear Advance (GBA)
Guilty Gear Petit (Wonderswan Color)

I have sold off too much of my rare stuff, and the sad thing is many were games I played and loved. My Entire Nomad, Saturn, and Dreamcast collections (including such gems as Gunstar Heroes, Ikaruga, Rez, Power Stone 2, Skies of Arcadia, MSHvsSF, XmenVS SF, Phantasy Star 2, 3, and 4..)

Damn, that kinda makes me upset. I wish I hadn't sold the saturn and DC stuff. I still won't consider my future house (when I get one) complete without a 2 player sit-down Daytona USA arcade cabinet.. lets see how my wife likes that one..

I think I'm gonna start a sister thread to this one where we can discuss the great stuff that we got rid of. I can think of a few things to start that list off with.

Hmm, I have some games considered rare and valuable to collectors but the pride and joy of my collection are always the games I love the most. So my favorite game of all time in my collection is my mint and complete version of M.U.S.H.A. for the Sega Genesis. I love old school shooters from the 16 bit era and M.U.S.H.A. was my all time favorite. I must have played through it over 50 times back in the day. I'm not sure how much its worth now but to me it's priceless.
my japanese wrestling games.
Which ones do you have? Here's my list of Japanese wrestling games:
Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 - N64
Fire Pro D - Dreamcast
All-Star Wrestling 2 - PS2
Fire Pro 3 - SFC
some All-Japan (I think) Revolution by Jaleco - SFC
All are mint and complete, bought in Japan for under $10 each.
I also have a cart-only MUSCLE game for Super Famicom.

Gitaroo-Man. But not because of its rarity. Okay, well, partially.

A couple years back, my friend got a brand new copy at EB when they were selling it for $20. It was one of two copies. I didn't have a PS2 at the time, let alone random cash for "investment" purposes (though it wasn't past me to buy things I couldn't actually use), so I was just happy for him. Flash forward only a few months and the game not only became impossible to find but also became quite expensive. Every so often when I'm not looking for something in particular and the clerk asks if they can help me, I ask if they have a copy of Gitaroo-Man.

Now I'm in college and a new EB opened during summer break. During one of my first visits, I inquire about the game. About two weeks later I return for the first time since then and one of the clerks is walking out the door as I approach. She points at me and says "Gitaroo-Man?" I'm a bit confused about where that came from, then she explains how she remembered I was looking for it all the way back then. I was running low on money but I knew I couldn't let the chance pass up. After investigating to make sure everything was in excellent shape, I commit to purchasing it. Thankfully they dropped the pre-owned price a few dollars, so that was just an extra bonus.

The first full song I learned on guitar was the Legendary Theme, even before I secured my personal copy of the game. It's just that great.

Cool story, and it goes to show how you can benefit from being friendly to the people who work at your local game shops. Gitaroo Man is a great game w/ great music.

I haven't been much of a collector over the past few years. I plan to start, though.

As of right now, the best thing in my collection has got to be Lunar Silver Star.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. I don't know what it is about the box, but it is oh so attractive. The game isn't too bad either. :)

Oh yeah, Kristianator, props for that 2nd joystick setup. Jim Lee is the shiznit (or whatever the kids say these days).
