What was the last concert/show you went to?

Lupe Fiasco was pretty good last night. Drake opened for him and he was pretty meh. I could've done without Boogaloo Shrimp breakin' right behind me the whole time.
MY BLOODY VALENTINE last night.

I mostly went for historical sake.
Loud as fuck.
I know a few people who went to that show. How was it?

Russian Circles was Saturday. It kicked ass.

These are the shows I am going to for sure:

Mr. Lif - 6/11
Isis/Pelican - 6/9
Torche - 7/20
Giant Squid/Grayceon - 8/10

I am retardedly excited to see GS and Grayceon together.
Why would you want to see the same band three nights in a row? :whistle2:?
If a band I like is playing within a 2-hour drive of my house I have to go. ;)

I usually only do it for really established bands that have a large library of tracks...VNV and NIN are really good about mixing up the setlist from night-to-night so I like to attend as many shows as possible when they come through.

For IAMX and Paper Chase, they just don't play out that often. It may be years before they're in the northeast again.

I just feel as though the show would lose its novelty like that.

I've definitely seen bands multiple times in the past, but always with several months to a year between shows.

I've seen NIN quite a lot, probably over 50 times, and the novelty still hasn't worn off. It's always exciting to me.

It's something in my personality, obviously...I never watch movies, read books, or play through videogames more than once...but I never get tired of seeing my favorite bands over-and-over again.

i saw a silver mt zion 3 nights in a row a couple years ago, I certainly wouldn't do it for every band, but I really liked the album they were touring on and I had great experiences at their previous shows, and I'm glad I went to all 3 nights.

Sick lineup! I think my buds Magrudergrind are doing a show with Unholy Grave around your way soon.

Yep, with Phobia too. Definitely need to hit that.

Man I'm lame. Last concert I went to was 11 years ago. Rockstock '98 in Chicago. Absolutely epic lineup. I don't think I'll ever go to another concert/festival that can compare:

Black Crowes, Anthrax, Local H, Candlebox, Brian May, Corey Glover, Rammstein, Stabbing Westward, Sevendust, Creed, Monster Magnet, Joe Satriani and a ton of others I can't remember.

Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, with Opposite Day and Death is Not a Joyride opening.

Sleepytime, was, of course, fantastic. One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Opposite Day was super cool as well.
Death is Not a Joyride, however, was a massive disappointment. Like, seriously terrible live show. Still got myself a copy of their CD (and one for you too, Bioshocked) though.

I talked to Nils from Sleepytime (singer and guitarist) and the bassist from Opposite Day after the show. Both really cool dudes. :)

Really? You got me hooked on that song for nothin' ;)

Do you remember the set list for SGM though?

I still like their recorded stuff, but man, their live show was really, really bad. It's very rarely that I really dislike a show--it's usually indifference--but they were absolutely awful.
I think the show would have been waaaaay better if someone had just murdered the singer.

I'll get back to you on the set list.

Just went and saw Toad the Wet Sprocket on Saturday night, they put on a very good show a little short but still very good.

May 1:

dredg
Torche
Judgement Day

I kind of didn't want to go see dredg after hearing "Saviour" off of their new album (listen here: http://hypem.com/track/782690), but I'm glad that I was convinced to go. Due to a time miscalculation, I ended up missing Judgement Day, which I suspect was a serious error on my part, especially after the Judgement Day guys came out and joined dredg on "The Canyon Behind Her" and "Jamais Vu" (IIRC), which was pretty amazing.

I'm not a Torche fan, but I enjoyed their set. Surprisingly, they played for quite a while. They reminded me a little of Wretch-era Kyuss (see: "Katzenjammer"). I think both the guitarist and the bassist were rockin' the Travis Bean aluminum neck, too, which was kind of neat to see.

saw rise against up here at university at buffalo not to long ago here. Never listened to them before but had a hell of a time so I'm planning on buying tickets to see them in NYC this summer =)

my last concert i went to was poison and it was aug 17,08.but I'm getting ready to go see Bret Michaels solo on May 23.

I saw Margot & The Nuclear So and So's with Everything, Now! on Monday

And I saw Mogwai with Women yesterday.

Mogwai was fantastic, possibly the best concert I've ever seen.

I saw Cynic again last week and hung out with them, great set as usual.

Ate pizza with the guys before the show, haha the singer from DragonForce came into the pizza place(they were the headlining band for the show) and when he was ordering some food, my friend got up to get napkins and the singer from DragonForce thought he wanted his autograph! And then the singer ate alone :( haha. It was hillarious.

After Cynic's set, me, Paul, Tymon, and their guitar tech made fun of DragonForce. Haha, good times.

CLUTCH, Wino, Maylene & The Sons of Disaster 5/06 in Toledo at Jeb's/Headliners. I was disappointed Wino only played an acoustic set but his bass player just passed away a few weeks ago RIP. Heard a few songs by Maylene and talked to a few of the members outside the venue before CLUTCH started. Venue was smoldering and I had to step out from the front after only six songs into CLUTCH's set. CLUTCH as usual rocked one of the best and hardest working bands in the industry.
Mastodon last Friday. Man, that was a fucking killer show. Crack The Skye in its entirety = sex.
Hell yea Mastadon puts on a great show!

Blink-182 August 22 in Detroit. It's been over a year since my last concert and I missed a few shows here and there. Time to get back on track.
