What's in the PS Store (5/31/16): Neon Chrome, Oxenfree, Primal, There Came an Echo, Plague Inc, & More!

Not sure if they're supposed to, but the deals from last week seem to still be active.
Just got TV Show King for $0.99.
$15 in Dead Space 2 day-of-release DLC?

Oh, fuck you.
Oddly what I find more annoying is that none of those packs say specifically what is inside.

Also Bulletstorm: How are people getting 10k points. I try to leash a bitch for a combo and he gets magnetized into spikes. Combo over.:bomb:

Is that $10 costume bundle every costume that's come out so far? I could have sworn there was a second bundle out there, maybe one that came out last year for regular SF4.

Thanks for the updates guys.

Might have to check out Costume Quest, since it's on sale. The thing I wanna know is why the UK store gets the same game videos the US store gets only one week early?

Also Frisky mentioned Catherine should be on the JPN PSN this week, so I'll have to make sure I grab that when I get some time.

Also curious to know if Koei is going to bother with releasing a demo for trinity zill o'll, I thought it was a pretty nice departure from the old DW formula when I played the JPN demo a few weeks ago.

They came out with a pack for SFIV. I'm assuming this one is for the first round of alt costumes for everyone in SSFIV. Atm, they're going through another round of alt costumes for everyone (I believe they're dubbed the "ultra" costume packs).

I'd check, but unfortunately, I'm formatting my system... t minus 6 hours.

Note: if you dled one of the costume packs included within that bundle, I believe they make it so you can't see the costume pack bundle.

that explains that... I dled the first one.. (was that a pre-order bonus?)

Yeah, that was the classic pack which is included in that costume bundle.

There wasn't an end date on it, so it could've been over today or in six months.

Catherine Demo was not in today's update. Nothing noteworthy that I recall seeing; DLC for Maijin and the Foresaken Kingdom, SSFIV costume pak, Blue Oasis DLC, and a few other things I can't recall. But Catherine wasn't among them.
WOW, lots of games on PSN, the interface is pretty bad and it's hard to tell there are this many games there.
Yep PSN is in bad need of an update. Something to make it easier to find games, find what is on sale and increase DL speeds.

Thanks Myke, but like Frisky says, yeah it isn't up yet, UK/HK/JPN don't update early in the week like the US store does (which I know you know ;)). I usually check on Fridays to make sure they all have gotten their updates complete before I go looking for new content. Thanks for the early heads up though.
WOW, lots of games on PSN, the interface is pretty bad and it's hard to tell there are this many games there.
Considering everything new is on top, I don't see what's so hard about finding it, you can use the search function as well, so...plus you have the awesome lists posted here as well to make it easier to know what to look for. Dunno what I'd do without them every week.
Yep PSN is in bad need of an update. Something to make it easier to find games, find what is on sale and increase DL speeds.
The HK store has a double layer before getting into the new releases section, the first layer is what's on sale, move, 3D, and other misc. stuff, and the second layer is new movies, demos and games, maybe the US store should look into a format similar to that or get rid of the Plus tab and integrate it into the other tab, still as I said above it's not THAT hard to find this stuff, try looking through the JPN store for something obscure, now that's tough.

JPN does Tues-Thurs updates. It roughly looks like this:

Tues:
PSN games
PS3 demos
All videos, wallpapers, avatars

Weds:
Game Archives update (PSOne, PC Engine, Neo-Geo) - biweekly (approx) for PSOne, once per month for PC Engine, and that one time for Neo-Geo

Thurs:
PSP games
PSP demos

Look at Steam though. You click on the store and then bam right up front there is a special box designed to show off everything on sale. From there you can easily click a sales tab to see exactly what is on sale. I really do not see why PSN is not the same or something similar. When you log in you should be hit in the face with what is on sale and there really is no reason to not also have a special tab that makes it 100% clear everything that is on sale. That and a PS+ just seem like common sense tabs.

It doesn't require Move, but it's probably a much better experience because using an analog stick to move the cursor around the screen is slower and less intuitive than a Move controller or Wii Remote. Never played the Wii version, so I can't speak on the differences.
is Dead Space Extraction only playable with Move? And if you can use the regular controller how does it compare with the Wii version?
you can use either move or a reguler controller.
you can use either move or a reguler controller.
I still haven't played my copy of Dead Space 2 (probably a record due to the fact I got my copy in the mail at 3 PM CT on release date), but from what I've read the experience isn't nearly as good using a Dualshock. I bought it on Wii when it came out, and it required a lot of movement from the controller to succeed. I hope this version doesn't require you to move the controller around in order to play the game.

Downloading Catherine demo now. There's no pictographic link to it yet (at least not as I type this), it's just listed as one of the new downloads.

Maybe it's just tha fact that i am broke now but this is one of the worst updates i can remember. No import psx games and not even a free theme for plus subscribers. At least Home gets a Helghast makeover today.

Catherine's puzzle parts play just like the videos look.

The atmosphere is great--really weird with tinges of creepiness at the edges.

Makes sense, but I'm not going to argue it, they've had the same store loadout for over 4 years now and I don't see that changing, the only way it could be made better is as I said they'd do something like the HK store and have a section for it.

My guess is that the sales that DO show up on the front page are ads that the devs/publishers pay for to show up on the main page, lots of things we don't know about go on behind the scenes like that.

Still while annoying it's far from an unworkable situation...**shrugs**

i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure there a 'bam' box on the front page. the ads do alternate so it might not show up at first but there is an ad you click that brings you right to the sale.

and isn't the psn+ tab the first tab at the top of the list?! I click it all the time because new releases used to be at the top

Can only understand a few parts of Catherine, but the gameplay is easy to figure out and pretty fun. Hope it goes up for preorder before my Amazon Prime runs out.

Bionic Commando 2 this week!

I really wish the store would let you sort things by price. I would have never known that TV King game was $1.99 if I hadnt seen it mentioned in the deals section.

I'd pick up alot more things if they had a sub $5 price point.

So they are planning stealth releases of all of the sidescrollers then (Necro Machina, Hard Corps: Uprising, Rush n' Attack: Ex-Patriot)

I'll play the demo on BCR2 and see, I know it's mostly ex-Grin staff, but I dunno the vibe seems off, plus this is entirely new material they are creating, so we'll see if they can create something new that is just as good as the original game they remade. I'm not going to complain on the jumping aspect, but it made me cringe a bit when I read they were adding that to the game.
So they are planning stealth releases of all of the sidescrollers then (Necro Machina, Hard Corps: Uprising, Rush n' Attack: Ex-Patriot) .
At least they're giving us a few days notice nowadays. Up until they started this "The Drop" section of the PS Blog, we had no idea what was coming in the weekly updates unless the developers made an effort to announce the date and 95% of games would just show up.

The Undergarden is one of the worst games out there. I advise everyone to stay away. This is after playing the demo during the steam treasure hunt during the holidays. That game is just bad.

I'm kind of shocked to see the Undergarden get a reaction like that. I also tried the demo on Steam and thought it was sort of fun. I don't think I'll be getting it (too many other games), but it seemed like a decent puzzle/floaty-platformish kind of game.
But Flower is in 3D. Undergarden looks very 2D. So a 2D Flower you mean?
Which is why I mentioned flOw. It's a similar underwater kind of environment with Flower's goal of bringing plants to life with some puzzle solving.

It's not bad, just the art style isn't that good. The creepy baby with horns that you're controlling is not a great main character.
