What's in the PS Store (5/31/16): Neon Chrome, Oxenfree, Primal, There Came an Echo, Plague Inc, & More!
Running illegal copies of games on CFW is *exactly* like running copies of games bought from the PS Store.

Hey, I have the actual PS1 copies too. Who wouldn't want them on the go though? The point I was making, is that it would take extra time to make those specific games fully compatible on a PSP. They wouldn't sell a flawed game. The backlash would be huge.
I am going to tell you to stop because it's BS. Don't justify the fact that they're feeding you shit. That's the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard. "They have to get all the bad games out of the way first, and THEN we can get the good stuff." Shit is shit. Whether it's out now or later no one is going to buy it.

Hey, I have a crazy idea. How about they only release good stuff? Then people will buy lots of it and they'll make money as well as make customers happy!

So please, stop it.
It's not fucking BS. Jesus fucking christ almighty. Nintendo does the same goddamn thing for the same reason - money. You release all the best games at first and people won't buy much that comes after them. You have 20 great games, 20 good games, and 5 shit games available and you're going to see none of those shit games get bought. You have 5 great games, 10 good games, and 30 shit games available and people are going to buy some shit ones. I am not justifying it, I'm explaining why they do it.

I agree with your statement. Also, Nintendo knows that people will buy their "shovelware", so as a result they keep allowing it to be produced and released on their systems (they also know by doing so that their first-party produced games will receive higher ratings, which results in higher sales for Mario, Zelda, etc).

The best thing we can do as consumers is vote with our dollars. It's just like if every one of us collectively decided (and in a way we have due to the fact that we're members of this forum- I hardly ever buy a game now that isn't on sale, and will even wait for the first price drop on a game I'm going to 100% buy) we're no longer satisfied paying $60 for a new game. We'll only pay $40. If everyone stuck to their guns, the developers would have no choice but to go to Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo and ask them to lower their licensing fees in order to allow them to sell the games for $50 or even $40. It's this very reason that PS2 games were being released for $39.99 new just prior to PS3 being released.
flOw is apparently free to download right now, so get on the PS Store and download it right now if you like free stuff.
damn i cant believe i missed that ive always wanted to try it but not at the price it was set on.

I don't think you missed much. The tilting controls pretty much ruin it for me. I guess it's supposed to be relaxing but trying to get your little fish thing to do what you want it to do is as frustrating as can be.

It must be hit or miss depending on the person. I found it pretty frustrating at first, but within about 5-10 minutes it had become more or less second nature and I started really enjoying the game. Definitely worth it for free.

I didn't have any problems with control at all. I've noticed that my friends always jerk the controller around when using Sixaxis. You gotta make gentle movements. I have no problem bobbing and weaving to avoid eating food or avoiding enemies.

Great to hear! Of all the JRPGs I've played, Grandia remains one of my favorites. Its sense of adventure is matched by very few others in the genre.

I always welcome in RPG's. I will have to wait on it though due to the sale with Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix this Thursday.

I was actually playing my disc version of Grandia about six months ago. It's an interesting beast. It feels like a more natural RPG progression from 16 bit to 32 bit than something like Final Fantasy VII or VIII. The enemies are frequently sort of cutesy, the main character is just a regular kid with big dreams, and the plot is (from what I've seen in ~9 hours) pretty straight forward. $10 sucks but I might grab it so I can finish it on PSP.

Amazingly, I bought this way back in the day (1999) and never got around to playing it. Then again, I can say the same about Final Fantasy XII (never even opened it) and some other classic games for PS and PS2.

has someone posted a link? I couldn't find anything, so your post isn't helpful.
I'm just looking for a reputable site that I can check out reviews for all original psn games/minis. there are similar sites for wiiware and live games.

People are complaining over ten bucks on Grandia? Shit, I'm buying it and I still have the disc release from launch. I member the Saturn version was near 100 bucks. Too bad it's the PS port and not a saturn one. Saturn one raped it with its 2d processing POWER.

try ign, gametrailers, or even here on this site people do reviews on games. alot of the games on psn have demos so you could try some of those so you know ahead of times if youd like them or not before purchasing.

Does Grandia have a shit story like Grandia II? Grandia II's combat was great but I couldn't finish it because of the awful story.

The Japanese store got Thunderforce V for PSOne. I guess I can cross it off my list of PSOne games to track down in the future. My only complaint thus far is that enemies frequently fly onto the playing field from either the background or the foreground and it can be hard to judge when exactly they become dangerous.

I'm not exactly sure why deadpool253 found it appropriate to tell you to "stop" when you asked a relatively legit question? Not very helpful at all.

Anyway, I recently saw a link to this site on Twitter. I can't speak for the quality of the reviews or the site itself but at a quick glance it appears that they focus on PSN reviews.
I think Grandia's story was worse.
Really? I always thought that Grandia's story far exceeded its sequel (which was more focused on combat). In terms of actual plot, it's pretty standard fare as most JRPGs are. But its tone and enthusiasm made it different (and better). I think that more JRPGs could use characterization like that given to Justin; it stands as a good antithesis to the silent, withdrawn, angst-ridden protagonists that populate the genre.

The Euro store gets updated so much earlier that I've been downloading the demos from it instead of waiting. I bet I'm not the only one... I wonder how much more bandwidth they lose to the time difference for the update.
Same for uncharted 2 :)
hell yeah getting it now. almost clicked on the wrong damn one though lol.
Is the GoWIII demo the E3 demo or a new one? I've been itching to play that Titan demo.
Yeah. That's the same demo.

I can't believe they didn't give us a demo for The Show before its Release.
But, oh well...when you have no competition...
Oh man, Grandia?? I always wanted to play that game. Is it worth $10?
Very much so. I still own the original version, but I'm buying this to support good PS1 games on PSN and to have it on my PSP.
