I'm downloading these right now.

I almost couldn't figure out how to beat the first level in Elefunk. It seemed like anything I did with the limited amount of pieces failed miserably.

The demo being only two levels was a disappointment, though it may be the motivation for me to fork over the big amount of money to buy the game.

How the elefunk did they only use 26 girders in the first level?!
I did it once, for the demo I just ran through really quickly and had a score I can't reach anymore after buying the full game.......... arg!

I was reading the article on Elefunk and was thinking I'm sure they'll charge $10, so I'll probably never buy - what? $5? Are they nuts? Sold!

But I'll probably try the demo first.

Am I the only one that finds the Fantasy Football Draft being free weird? The XBLA version's $5, although it might be different. I don't know.

Same here. I saw it was supposed to cost $5 before it dropped, so I was surprised when I saw it was free.

I downloaded all 3 parts of the Sony conference and DAMN, did it take forever! Does anyone else's downloads take eternity to complete? I must have left my PS3 on for 5 hours, and I only got to like 70% on a video. What's up with the slow speeds? My connection or something?
Must your connection, as it took me less than an hour to download each of them.
Hmmmm that sucks. I'm not sure why. Before I was downloading things fairly quickly. Oh well. It's cool that you can download the conference though. The quality is great.

What are you on, cable, DSL? I'm on wireless DSL and I find my downloads are about 8x slower than a friend of mine's, who uses cable wired.

Yep, Wireless DSL.

Is anyone having any sound issues with Elefunk? I'm not getting any sound at all from the game. I thought it might be something with my PS3, but I go back to the XMB and I have sound just fine...

it's actually a really quiet game to be honest.

Took me about 20 tries to finish the first stage of the Elefunk demo. Once I beat it, I really had no idea why the solution was better than any of the other ones I tried. On top of that, the soundtrack is full of elephant wails, so I think I will be keeping my $5.

That's pretty embarassing. It took me a couple tries, but i got it, and i decided to buy it. So far, i love it. Only 20 levels, but they start to get REALLY hard.

I also got Rayman, which is decent.

I have to say I agree with you. I wanted to love the game, but it's so frustrating it's almost impossible to enjoy, even for $5. Had there not been a demo, I would have bought it and deleted it shortly after (out my Abraham Lincoln in the process).

I applaud Sony for allowing it's PSN developers' content to be creative, but truthfully I feel these same experiences can be found (or should be found) on one of the many "free" mini-game sites on the world wide web. I played the demo of Elefunk, and thought I should be playing this type of game on Addictinggames.com, and not PSN.

I feel the exact same way about Pixeljunk Monsters, though I love it anyway.

I caught this post which may explain a little as to why the U.S. didn't get Vib Ribbon and why many SCEJ get passed on by SCEA (but not SCEE), posted by Vic Ireland (who was the founder of Working Designs, although they are gone)
That list is woefully incomplete. One that immediately popped to mind was Earth Defense Force 2. Came out in Europe, not in the USA. The reason for that was the reason a number of PS2 titles never came out here, but came out in Europe - SCEA. Europe has a free-trade agreement with Japan that makes it illegal (or legally dangerous) for Sony Europe to deny a Japanese game release in Europe. No such agreement in the USA, so SCEA (at the time) blocked EDF2 and many others, some of which went to free-trade enabled Europe anyway.
Given the number of titles that *aren't* released in the EU each year, I'm very skeptical of that claim.
Oh course there are a bunch of games that don't come to Europe also, but the claim is, if a publisher wants a game to come Europe from Japan, it can (if a publisher doesn't care about the EU market, like Square Enix did a few times, they'll miss it). This is basically an explaination as to why SCEA has denied games, but even came to Europe since SCEE didn't deny (like SNK games, several vertical shooters published by a certain EU publisher, etc.).

The only region it's not in is North America.
They released it in Europe months ago.

Also, the ESRB never rated it, so doesn't look like it's anytime soon.

There's a new AFRIKA trailer on the japanese PSN.
Shows off the grasslands and enviroments.
Really nice music too. I forget the name of the piece.

How was last week for you then? ;)

As I posted in the PixelJunk thread, Eden's listed as coming out July 31, so that's three straight weeks of PSN game releases. I think they've said that they wanted to put out a pre-release demo, so we could see one this week, but if not, it'll probably be held until the week of release.

For those that want a bit of info on how the game works:
