What's in the PS Store (5/31/16): Neon Chrome, Oxenfree, Primal, There Came an Echo, Plague Inc, & More!

Magic Orbz is a great game, I highly recommend it if you like brick breaking games like Breakout or Arkanoid, you'll probably like this too. I love it.

Theme Hospital!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Out of the dozens and dozens and dozens of games that I am waiting to come to the PSN from the PSX, Theme Hospital ranks right around 10005050505. Does anybody actually buy the crap PSX games that gets released?

Suikoden 2 Where are you?????????????

The "theme" games that I've played aren't terrible. Sort of Sim-lite stuff from what I've seen. They've done far, far worse in the past (2xtreme, all those Spec Ops games, etc)

Apparently not a big PC gamer from the late 90's-early 2000's are you?

The Bullfrog games were quite popular during that era, Theme Park, Magic Carpet, Syndicate and Populous to name a few (it's during Peter Molyneux's sane productive period, when the games mattered and not being buddy, buddy with MS)

I personally don't love the games, but it's far from 4X4 dirt racing that's been the mode of the last few months.

On a side note, it's nice to see a trickle of quality coming recently, hope the trend continues for the foreseeable future.

My wife and I played the Castle Crasher sdemo and liked it pretty well. Can you mix online and local multiplayer (so the two of us could play with two people online)? Or is it one or the other?

That's a good question... I've played a few times on-line but never with a second person playing here with me. I would hope so but then again I wonder if each player has to be tied to a PSN account.

http://ps3.ign.com/articles/111/1117984p1.html
Speaking of friends, you can crash castles with the favorite people on your friends list either locally or online. With local co-op mode, you can't sign into multiple accounts like you could in the Xbox 360 version; you can only split up the main PSN ID into quarters. Friends curious about the game can also drop-in and out from the map, but not in the middle of a level, so it's not truly drop-in, drop-out co-op. Despite that flaw, it is nice that you can mix up the local and online co-op modes, so if you and a buddy at your house want to pair up with some other people on your friends list, you can do that.

Ugh, I hate when PS3 games don't let everyone use their own profile.

Nice, thanks. My wife doesn't even have her own profile right now, so the two of us locally on my profile plus online peeps will work great for me.
The only PS1 game I recognized that had been rated by the ESRB lately was Herc's Adventures.
Awesome, can't wait for that to be released to throw on the PSP.

MSUHitman - Maybe today's update was pushed back by the holiday? Can't remember what happens on the day after a Monday holiday since they moved to Tuesday updates.
Nice, thanks. My wife doesn't even have her own profile right now, so the two of us locally on my profile plus online peeps will work great for me.
heh. I made a profile for my wife b/c she didn't like my theme and I didn't want her to unlock any trophies for me or ruin any of my game saves, but all she does on the PS3 is watch netflix.
Anyone else notice that the new price point for digital releases is creeping away from $9.99, and closer to $14.99? Not a fan.
Yep. Been that way for a while on xbox live now. I blame them for these price trends.
Yep. Been that way for a while on xbox live now. I blame them for these price trends.
A number of them are worth the $15, but the hanger ons that mistakenly think their games are worth it when they can't even bother marketing them (Matt Hazard, Invincible Tiger, NBA Unrivaled, or Wheel of Fortune) are the bigger issue.
Can someone tell me where you see PSN avatars when using the PS3? How do you user and customize them?
You see them on your Friends list, as well as website tied to your PSN account (such as the Playstation Boards). To choose avatars, go to Account Managment under the PSN tab.

So an avatar is just a graphical image (like what we have here on CAG, for instance) rather than a 3D character like the 360 and Wii have?

Right, they are just 2d images associated with your account, for instance my avatar is in my sig, Bentley from Sly Cooper.

The closest thing to a 360 avatar or Wii Mii, is your character in playstation Home, but it is only used for playstation Home.

Change your avatar by going to PSN, account management, edit online profile.
Just want to point out that if you have September's Issue of Qore comes with warhawk (psone game) for free!
Isn't that just for the yearly subscribers? If not that's awesome, I'm a big fan of the PS3 Warhawk and have always wanted to try the original

how much is the ps3 game going for on psn? figured id pick it up since theyve given out pretty much all the dlc for it. by game i mean warhawk.

ALL SPEC OPS FOR $2.99.

Seriously, if it weren't for the death of the virtual console on the Wii, I'd still be fuming mad about how shitty the PSOne classics were.
There is going to be a series of psn sales/deals to commemorate the 15 yr. anniversary of the ps one. One of the blogs (maybe gamasutra) said that there would be ps one classics on sale. hopefully that's the case.
If they want to commemorate the psone they need to release Vagrant Story, Xenogears and Parasite Eve.

Has the VC really died? I was actually thinking about buying a Wii, specifically for the VC...

well, it should be in hospice most certainly, but it still coughs up some stale old musty breath on monday out of roughly every 3-5, so not truly 'dead'.

Per Joystiq, here's the next PSN Plus update, 13 days early:
