I am seeing Mega Man 9, Age of Booty, and the 2 Monkey Island Special Edition games are 4.99 each in the Specials section of the store. Bought the 2 Monkey Island games.

Looks like the blog was wrong about the price of Soviet Strike. It's $5.99, not $4.99. I was hoping for a downward trend in prices. Oh well.

Well, the time has come. It has been a long wait but those of us who love the natural state of things will soon be rewarded. On September 21st, Sony Computer Entertainment America will release the first games on a new service called Imports on the PlayStation(R)Store. For the first time, North American users will be able to purchase games imported directly from Japan. These games will be in their pure, unadulterated form.

MonkeyPaw Games will be there to serve up a selection of gaming gemstones, starting with Cho Aniki and GaiaSeed.

You may wonder why some of the great Japanese titles you hear about in the press never make it to Western markets. There are numerous reasons but the biggest is translation. A lot of cost goes into translation thus profitability becomes tenuous for many titles. Remove that barrier and a world of Japanese wonder comes rushing to your screen. Buyer beware: you’ll need to use your gaming instinct and intuition to maneuver your way around the Japanese text. But we’ve focused on titles that are easy to navigate.

Possibly a dumb question, but if I bought Castlevania SotN on the PS3, is there a way to transfer it to my PSP (I don't own one yet but probably will in the future) and play it on both?

Also, is Castlevania Chronicles worth $3?

yeah you can transfer the ps1 classics you buy on psn onto a psp but make sure you get a big enough memory stick to hold them all.
 
Castlevania Chronicles is definitely worth $3 if you like classic Castlevania games. It's a remake of the original Castlevania game - the very best version of Castlevania 1 ever created. Optional remixed graphics (subtle changes) and remixed music (very nice) make it feel a little more fresh. The difficulty is fairly high compared to Metroidvania games, but you can save your progress, at least.
 
so I might be down with this Magic Orbz if it's like arkanoid, that is always fun to play..but is the game 'broken'? I noticed on PS3trophies that some DLC called 'Wicked Witches' is de-listed. Is this true? I guess you won't be getting those trophies if you didn't have it already..
 
Definitely getting the Monkey Island bundle. The entire 5-part Tales of Monkey Island is $4.99 this weekend... but off TellTales website only and only for PC, no PSN. Was hoping to jump on this series super cheap.
 
Now that I'm downloading Castlevania Chronicles and SOTN, should I keep the PS1 discs as backups or put them on Goozex/the CAG trading forum??

And I'm one click away from subscribing to Playstation Plus. Are there any last minute reasons why I shouldn't?

wait until a month comes up where theres something you really want then subscribe. its been a very big deal for me but thats mostly due to the fact alot of the free games theyve given out i didnt own already.in the end plus value is based on a person by person basis. whats an amazing deal for some may be shit for others.

I think they said they are going to focus on the games that have the absolute least amount of Japanese text, which probably means more shmups and puzzle games, similar to the last games released during the PSOne era by companies like XS, Natsume, Valcon, etc.
 
Guess that's cool that the update is tonight. Did jump over to EU server to download Enslaved. It's an alright demo. Not too impressed from the few minutes I played of it.

Yeah, nice one Sony. :roll: Great way of alienating early adopters of Move by saying F** you. Early access to demos, and discounts I can understand, but this is just BS.

The Move patch for High Velocity Bowling will be available for everyone else next week according to feedback in the blog.

IMO that was a piss poor move on Sony's part to offer that to + only people. The move patch should be FREE to all members.
