If you only own a PS3, it's superb. Since it's coming out on PSP. the portablility aspect is meh (unless you want it early). XBLA version is the best ATM, but again, if you don't have it yet, this is still a good deal IMHO.

I'm still waiting for Tomba damn it!!!! release Tomba!!!! you have the rights to it sony!!!! grr....
man, I wanna be in the home beta... :(
x2, where does it show up in the PS Store?
One game is a big payday? Is this what PS3 users have become?
excuse me for enjoying the videos they put up...
I'm sorry for setting PS3 users back by appreciating what we get rather than constantly complaining and bitching about how things could be in an ideal world. You know, back before this generation of consoles(a whole 2 years ago), there were demos for like 3 games a year and they came in the mail instead of convenient online downloads. I know demos are coming, and I've played the hell out of every demo they put up there, but a lack thereof isn't something that I'm gonna kill myself over.

For those interested in All-Pro Football 2K8, there will be a demo in a few weeks. I was watching GameSpot's live stage demo from E3 and they mention the appearance of a demo a few weeks after its release.

FWIW, I noticed that the XI downloadable game is a demo. The full version is still 600 Yen.

It's sad that the JPN PSN store has 20 PSX games in the "new releases" section alone, compared to the paltry 12 we have *altogether.*

I know there are a few things up:
- Castelvania:SOTN
- GT5 Prologue (2 of these)
- Infamous Trailer (Crackdown clone?)
- Ratchet and Clank Trailer
- 4 Movie Trailers

- CALLING ALL CARS WAS $7.99 (Is that a price drop?)
The new Ratchet & Clank trailer is fantastic.
Recommend you guys watch it.
I watched it yesterday, it's like a movie trailer :D

if you go back one page, we pretty much say all that stuff too many times. at least it's on a new page.
still want the PS1 games the japan store has... not fare.
Once the Playstation Cards launch (they haven't have they?) you should be able to import some so you might be able to order them then.

Anyone given tSotN a spin? How does it look on the PS3? Is it enhanced like the 360 version? How does it translate to the PSP?

Also, can Darkk Tournament downloaded from the store also be played ona PSP?

Imported PS1 games via PSN would be playable on a US PS3?

I'm going to answer the above 3 posts.

1. PSN cards are already out. For some reason, not being sold via online retailers. But people with friends in Japan have gotten them, call you need is the number on the back so they send via email.
There is a way around this though and pay using virtual CCs.

2. SotN is an ISO of the PSX game. Same exact game. And no, can't play Tekken on your PSP.

3. Yes, Japan only PSX games work fine on US PS3s. I can confirm.

I'm guessing this only applies to games released on PSN, not actual disc-based games?
I wish they would have removed region protection for PS2 games...that would've been cool :D

do you know what valuations do the cards come in, how much are they to buy, and what shops in japan sell them?

From Wikipedia:

PlayStation Network Ticket

Credit cards and electronic money (via the Edy system) are currently the only ways PlayStation 3 owners in Japan can purchase content through the Japanese PlayStation Store, but on May 8, 2007 Sony Computer Entertainment announced PlayStation Network Tickets, a form of electronic money that can be used with the Store. PlayStation Network Tickets, set to be available in units of 1,000, 3,000, 5,000, and 10,000 yen, can be purchased at convenience stores throughout Japan. Each ticket contains a 12 digit code which can be input to the PlayStation Network to place credits in the virtual wallet.

The tickets will be available through electronic kiosks at 26,000 convenience stores, including Lawson, Family Mart, Daily Yamazaki, Mini Stop and Sunkus. There will also be 26,000 post office ATM machines for use to pay for the tickets, although registeration is required first via a special mobile website.

This system is a bit different from the card systems that Microsoft and Nintendo use for their virtual shops. Wii and Xbox Live point cards are available for purchase at standard retailers throughout Japan. Sony has yet to announce a similar program for markets outside of Japan.

I finished whole The Darkness game the other day. It is alright. The story gets kinda "rushed" at the end. Which is sad because that is all it had going for it for me. The combat wasn't all that and your darklings weren't very useful.

All in all, an okay rental if you like the demo.

I finally purchased CAC.....I'm a sucker for the price drops on the PSN Store. Seemed pretty fun, only played single player a bit.

If anyone wants to hit up a game, use my Gamertag

The demo for The Darkness is sooooo shitty.

No real 5.1 and horrible framerate.

This is NOT how the retail version of the game plays.

Sucks that this will probably turn off people when the actual game is so superior to the demo.
1.4GB of waste.

Huh. When I played it I was enjoying the demo. It's definitely in my rental queue based on my time with the demo.

Didn't seem to have any framerate issues either, I'll have to give it another look to see if I run into the same problems you did.

Sony has confirmed to Game Informer that both Heavenly Sword and Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction will see demos on the PlayStation Network in the near future. So when exactly? Sony's Dave Karracker believes this week, and considering Europe is supposed to get Heavenly Sword on Thursday, we're betting we'll see the same here in the States.

Stay tuned...
Please oh please oh please oh please! We know about HS but what a double whammy if we got a Ratchet demo too!!!

Graveyard gun fight.

Not sure about the PS3 demo, but all the problems I ran into with the PS3 version of the game were in the 360 demo-- including frame rate drops and such.

i just dont think it's that solid of a game. just very pretty but kinda plays like ass. especially in the second chapter.

I think the game plays great. I didn't have any problems with it, but then I notice I'm a lot less picky, when it comes to certain things, than a lot of people here.

Hey, even though I didn't like the demo, because of the framerate crap, I LOVE the actual game.

Still playing through it, taking my time.

Hopefully that will shut up the annoying people that just type "demos" over and over in the comments of any post on the Sony blog.

It would be sweet if that's true.

Thanks to GAF (tanod)

But the R&C demo isn't coming, the dev said so.
But it is coming very soon.

Why doesn't Sony get the 3rd part demos that the 360 gets? What is the reason behind this? Like All Pro 2K8, NCAA 08, Nascar 08...etc. I need something to hold me over until my 360 gets back from the shop.

I'm actually wondering the same thing.

There'll be a demo for the new Koei game on 7/30 in the Japan store.

I think it's called Dynasty Warriors: World War II or something
