Everything seems to be up now (hey Shini, what time is it? ;))

Damn. Stranglehold's 1.3 gigs? NBA Live 08's only 661 MBs. :) I'm looking forward to trying both out. Nice update overall.
Stranglehold is 1337MB.

Hehe.
Yeah, I noticed that just after I started the download. Must be the extra stuff they were refering to earlier. ;)

Hey look, it's 2:30 PM and nothing's up yet. ;)
lmfao, DIE!!! (Process: :headache::argue::censored::boxing::twoguns: :fridge: )

Time of death: Thursday, 1:00 PM
I think the demo was just as big, if not bigger on XBL.
XBL one was smaller, they have a size limit. Erm, Scratch that as Zew pointed out.

But it's funny because it's that exact number.
Do you get it?

However the PS3 version has more stuff than the XBL demo, according the dev.

Size limit?
Size limit?
Yeah, I thought MS had a size requierment for downloads. With exceptions given to certain games.

Anyway, I"m wrong, and I don't know what the extra content is.
Has anybody played it yet? How is it?

I haven't gone on the PSN store yet ;)
Are you gonna wait until 12-1 PM tomorrow to visit the store? ;)

I played through normal on the demo and it's fun and all, but I can see it getting boring in a full game for hours and hours. Also, there's a bunch of glitches in there, hopefully they get them fixed by release so I'm not paying that much for just Hard Boiled.

Loved the Stranglehold demo. It has all the over-the-top action I needed to see from it. Does anyone know if it saves your progress? If you beat it once, you unlock the hard mode and some Tequila bomb thing, and I'm wondering if it'll be saved for the next time I want to play it?
Is it the equivalent of Max Payne or better? I loved both Max Payne games
Never played Max Payne, so I can't tell you that.

Well if you liked Stranglehold, I suggest you play the Max Payne games then, since they look similar

Max Payne was also one of the first (if not THE first) game to utilize the slow-mo feature

I hated the max payne games... he controlled like a tank. legs moving left, torso front and center shooting forward. Despite that, I love Stranglehold.. the demo has reassured me.

Played the NBA Live 08 demo... that reassured me, that I'm on my EA ban, and I'll be going with NBA 2k8.

Ahhh pfffttt, I always thought that was funny. There was also a glitch where if you killed a guy in an elevator, his body would start flailing about, that was friggin' hilarious. Besides, it's an old game and his running animation never bothered me at all.

Since stranglehold seems to be a good game, I'm thinking this might be my bag

See also: the demo doesn't save, so every time you decide to play it you have to go through normal, hard, etc to unlock the other Tequila Bombs...
at least it didn't save for me.

Meh, I wasn't a fan of the whole noir story and atmosphere enough to try it. Stranglehold's enough for me, as that's got the kind of atmosphere I like.

I really enjoyed the NBA Live 08 demo. Fluid gameplay, easy to get into, a good amount of depth, and it was a lot of fun. I may have to pick up a basketball game this year.

Just didn't like the funky controls of Stranglehold, maybe if there were a regular jump button, so I could get on top of stuff without sliding, and then dive from higher distances.

I like Max Payne better.

Live was a PLEASANT surprise.
Everyone says the 2K games are better but damn, this was pretty cool.
And presentation was so slick.

Hope there's a demo of the new 2K game soon.

Wow, amazing, Ps3 got NBA Live the same day as the 360...yeah.

I played on the 360, I thought it was ok. I wonder if Stranglehold plays any differently on the PS3....I thought it was good on the 360 (the demo at least).

Hopefully we get those PSN games on similiar dates.

What about HOME, when does that launch?

I got the Stranglehold demo, I think the level design is kind of weak. People come at you from every direction and even with the arrows telling you where you're being shot from it's difficult to tell where the bad guys are. However, it does add to the chaotic, you-against-the-world feeling. I think controller layout isn't perfect, and there's some weird glitchy slowdowns, too. The graphics aren't as good as I expected, and I would've prefered the game in Chinese and subtitled English.

It is fun, though.

The Stranglehold demo was awesome. I love over the top action. The fact that this game has a story of any kind is a plus too, since I would have been happy just running around and shooting people.

In any case, sucks the PS3 version isn't coming out until the end of the month.

agreed. I'm actually a little surprised at the acclaim the game is getting...felt like typical clunky Midway bullshit to me

It is somewhat clunky. Although Max Payne isn't as stylish, I thought it controlled much better.

I agree Midway games are typically clunky. I would love to see a Hong Kong company put out a game.
I guess the "bonus" in the Stranglehold demo were the Golden Pistols?
Were those in the 360 demo?
Nope. The golden pistols were in the 360 demo as well.

How come the strangelhold demo's sound effects sounds like liking listening to music being played in a closed box?

I preordered this game and Im content with my preorder...not over the top excited but still.

I noticed that about the sound. Yeah Stranglehold needs a few more tweaks if you ask me.

I think I'm used to Max Payne, you get so much time in bullet time to actually pick the guys off. This one I got lost trying to figure out where they are and by the time I do it is to late.

I'm torn on Stranglehold - the game is fun, but the game is repetitive. The demo tells me that it's a game I'd like to ow, but not for $60. The CE version, with Hard Boiled, seems very tempting, however. So I have an above-average game I'm mildly interested in (but wouldn't be brokenhearted if I never bought it), but the CE edition really piques my interest.

What to do, what to do.
wow live demo on ps3 sucks big time..

like mentioned above massive slowdown and aliasing issues
Who cares, since NBA 08 will destroy NBA Live 08 anyway (Especially in the graphics alone). NBA 07 was a great game last year and I expect NBA 08 to be even better.

I liked Stranglehold, however I noticed a few slowdown/stop moments when the action got intense. I hope they fixed that since it did get annoying to all of a sudden be blasting and diving and then right in the middle of it get a s-l-o-w-d-o-w-n. Also I like it just as much as Max Payne right now. We'll see if this changes when the full game is out. How is the 360 version to anyone that has played it? Do you get the same slow down moments?
