Anyone get all the caps in the simpsons demo? I am suck at this.
I got all caps and Krusty things.

I had no intention of paying for a demo disguised as a game anyway.

So, tomorrow will include R&C Demo, Everyday Shooter, a billion trailers, a trillion wallpapers, and ZERO PSX games. That about right?
and ZERO PSX games. That about right?
No way, they're releasing the Megaman PSX games???

I kid, I kid
I tell those who want Mega Man X PSX downloads to just buy Mega Man X: Collection on PS2. It plays great on the PS3 and is an awesome collection. :D

The reason I may not want some PS1 games in the PS Store is, the majority really don't hold up too well now (there's honestly only a few I could go back to, and PS1 happens to be my favorite console ever).

And a Conan demo.

Damn Europe is getting some PSX games this month.

The two I want the most from their list are Bust-A-Groove and Crash Team Racing.

New blog update on creation of Everyday Shooter:
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2007/10/10/from-igf-to-ps3-everyday-shooters-backstory/

And here's some info on the state of Oblivion DLC for PS3.

Since we’re talking about DLC, I thought I’d update you with what’s going on with the PS3 version of Oblivion. We are close, very close to working something out to bring Shivering Isles to PS3 owners. That may be in downloadable form via PSN, or as a standalone retail disc, or both. I can’t say definitively yet that it will happen, and I definitely can’t say when. But it’s looking good, and hopefully we’ll have good news soon. Don’t have anything I can tell you about any other DLC, but Shivering Isles is the one we get asked about all the time, so I at least wanted to update folks on that.

134. Less than I expected, actually, but officially more than ***1000%*** larger than the US store.

EDIT 1117% larger, to be more accurate. It's like comparing the currency of Zimbabwe to the Korean Won.

I'm actually tempted to buy 2Xtreme from the US PSN store to perhaps encourage them to put more up.

Truth be told. That game is a guilty pleasure.

It's bad, but it gets worse:
It looks like Sony finally stoked the fires hot enough to boil the water to make the steam to run the engine that is PSN. Because starting this October, Sony is doubling their monthly PSOne game updates in Japan. That means users will be getting two updates a month—hopefully not with just half the games each. While the effect has yet to trickle down to the US market, we'll be waiting. Right here.
Gooooooo figure. Whhaaaaaat the heeeeeellll???

Did they forget a certain country called, oh...you know, the UNITED STATES????

SCEA, heeellloooooo??? *echoes*

SCEA is currently working on getting the PS store up for the PSP, which explains part of the delay (because they plan to open the PSP Store with many downloadable PS1 games, from what I heard).

http://www.pspfanboy.com/2007/10/09/sony-lays-out-its-plans-for-the-psp-store/

But let me say this again, we will never get a Working Designs games or Square Enix game in the PS Store ever (Vic Ireland has a grudge against Sony and even said at GAF recently. Square Enix's Wada admitted that he doesn't believe in digital downloads since many cannot access them).
anyone got a price point on everyday shooter. I am will to throw 10 at it but not much more then that.
$9.99
I got all caps and Krusty things.
Alright, where are the caps? I'm totally busted and just can't seem to find the last one. I got the one on top of the fish, the one on top of krustyland studios, the one on top of the construction area, the one on the docks behind the warehouse, the one next to the warehouse that requires the helium to get to, and some other ones that I can't remember because I'm at work right now.

I'm so tired of your baseless apologetic conjecture.

I hear Sony isn't releasing blockbuster PS3 games because they want gamers to take the time to enjoy and savor other games that are out there, like Bioshock and Halo 3. They really want gamers to take the time to smell the roses.

See, I can do it too. ;)

 I can imagine myke counting the PS1 games in the Japanese PS Store at least 20 times a day, then yelling out in agony as he counts the amount of PS1 games in the US PS Store.
What did you guys think of the Simpsons Game?
I guess my main concern is how short the level was. Even if there are 16 levels, if they're all that short then I'm going to plow through the game in a day so it's not worth $60 to me. I'm thinking I'll pick it up once it drops to $40 or so.
What did you guys think of the Simpsons Game?
I loved the presentation, could not stand the gameplay. Controls were decent, but the camera was incredibly annoying, making the game far more frustrating than it needed to be. The whole thing just got old way too fast. It's too bad, because I was really looking forward to it. Graphics, sound, and script were exceptional, but it's almost like they glossed over the fact that people are buying it to play a game, not just enjoy the atmosphere.

I really liked the Simpsons...then again you're asking a huge fan of the series who is biased enough to overlook the shoddy camera and lock-on controls ;)

See what I did thaaar?

See, I can do it too. ;)
I'm not kidding, because I actually know a bit about what SCEA is doing (with some insider info). It was mentioned that we'd have 18 PS1 games TOTAL by 2008. Take that number and subtract it by what we have now, and that's ALL we'll be getting for a year currently. What I can say is, would you rather have several PS1 games and next to no game demos (like Japan), or would you rather have few PS1 games and lots of demos (like the U.S.)? I love the PS1 and all, but I go for demos, because the majority of games don't hold up and the games I'd want, are mostly all Square Enix.

Anyway, I will download Ratchet on Friday morning since my internet has been crazy slow on weekday evenings. I'll get Everyday Shooter early next week.

That's such a poor argument, because (and I believe you pointed this out before, though it could have been another I'm-makin-shit-up claim) the people working on preparing PSX games for PSN are not the same people creating demos (developers) who are not the same people testing those demos for PSN release.

That's like telling me I can't have french fries because the burger chef is busy. What a load of garbage.

It's also a poor argument because you're artificially making a statement that demos and PSX titles are mutually exclusive, and that an abundance of one means a dearth of another. That, also, is untrue. This isn't 30 cars fighting for 15 parking spaces. This is digital content, baby, and digital content that isn't being worked on by the same groups of people. You want MORE demos than PSN, and MORE videos than PSN, and MORE arcade games than PSN, and MORE downloadable content than PSN, and MORE customizable options than PSN?

Fire up that ol' 360 you got there, Tex.

It certainly is possible. Nintendo announced this week that they've sold just under 8 MILLION VC downloads. Do you know how much money that potentially is for next to no work? They're not updating these games! They're ensuring compatibility with the Wii; how does that separate them from what Sony would be doing if they actually worked on adding some shitting PSX games?

Short version: THERE IS NO EXCUSE. NONE. No matter what insider info you have, unless everybody at Sony has been calling in sick for the past 6 months, or monsters destroyed the original source code (like Final Fantasy III's excuse for never appearing in the US until 18 years later).

NO.
EXCUSE.

^^

Whenever arguments start popping up, I immediately think of Phoenix Wright.
Feel free to add Objection!, Hold It!, and Take That! to your sentences as you please :D
It will be more entertaining that way ;)

I agree. There is no excuse for the lack of PSX games.
It's easy money.

Here's the release list for Europe.
Nice healthy supply there.

Notice the Rear View mirror on PSP add on for F1.

I hope the PS1 releases in that list mean something for the US, I could use some crash bandicoot. Crash 3 was my all-time favorite.

What is this Folklore - Bottom Of The Sea Pack? :O

I'd like to try Motor Toon Grand Prix, I remember the first one being featured in GameFan way back in the day. Also, I'm glad to see more MotorStorm add-ons coming - I really love this game even though there aren't many modes.

Lol, okay I'll get right on that fan-boy.

:applause::applause: Mykev you fucking pwned him, and I agree with you 100%. There is no excuse for the lack of PSX games. I don't give a fuck about that BS argument Mana used before either, if people aren't buying them then they wont make them. Thats a fucking stupid argument as well, thats like the Coke company saying well we better stop making Coke products, because more people are buying Pepsi products. I am sure when they put up Castlevania a shit load of people bought that. Face it Sony is just to damn lazy to put up PSX games. Don't say well my cousins, dads, brother, knows a guy who works for Sony ect. That is one of the oldest BS lies on the internet, used to cover up your fanboyism. Anyone that says Psn is better then live needs to get their head checked. I'll admit Psn has come a ways and is better then the PS2 online ever was, but it's not better then live. The only thing Psn has over live is it's free, and guess what? You get what you pay for don't you? With live everything is updated more often and is just the overall better online service of the two. I can't judge the Wii's online because I don't have one to judge with. There is really no point in fighting with you on this because you don't listen, you just go around spatting off Sony this and Sony that making fucking excuses for the god damn company.I have never met someone that is so in love with Sony that they can't even admit Sony has fucked up and dropped the ball. If that isn't a fan-boy then what is.

Probably the wrong place to ask, but does anyone else have Bust A Groove, i.e. the PS1 disc? The Sony compatibility page says its been fixed, but it still feels unplayably off to me.

Bust A Groove is a perfect example of a game that ought to be released here. I know lots of people who missed it on PSX, and it still stands up as a great game with a terrific soundtrack. I'm still holding on to my PS2 because of it.

I don't mind about people wanting PS1 stuff (I would buy some myself), but just don't anticipate Square Enix stuff.

One big issue with playing PS1 games on PS3 is button press delay (because of the bluetooth). When I played Hot Shots Golf, DDR, PaRappa, etc., the timing was very off and found myself messing up. I tried them on PS1 and PS2 and had no issues. When playing RPGs, racers, etc., it's not noticeable. That's one issue Sony badly needs to fix because that can make some PS1 games unplayable. And if Bust A Groove requires timing, it will be off (I have that happen in DDR, where I have to press the arrow because it reaches the right spot to timing it correctly).
Mysterious posts by Capcom, after someone moaned about Monster Hunter 3 going to Wii.
IMO, it's either one of two things.

1) Their exclusive PS3 game which EGM hinted (some hinted on a PS3 exclusive download, like a remake to Mega Man or Bionic Commando).

2) They will make DMC4 360 exclusive or drop RE5 from PS3, making PS3 owners even more upset.
