It varies. Sometimes we are lucky to get it at 1pm EST, but the last couple times they have not updated until like 4:30-5...

Hopefully it is an early one this week. I will get to try the game out right after my anime club meeting.

I actually don't know why you're more excited about Assassin's Creed when so little of that game has been shown.

I'm getting both still.
 
I soured on Assassin's Creed when I started seein' somea that Matrix-y shit in there (I swear I've seen videos and photos that make it appear to be some sort of Cyber-12th Century Christian Adventure game.

Then again, I loved me some PoP.

I can't wait to stare at the DL screen for Uncharted as the download bottlenecks. Put on the kettle, maw. We're going to be burnin' the midnight oil waiting for that fucker to finish downloading.

There's a Winning Eleven 2008 demo in the JPN store now, along with an updated (?) version of Mainichi Issho...and some other stuff that was all DLC (Motorstorm, Folks Soul, Imabikisou). All free, I think.

Also a game called Dark Mist. Anyone know what that's all about?

Assassin's Creed seems to be the type of game I will love.

You kids used to fantasize about being cops and robbers, for me, it was being an assassin during the Crusades.

Im at about 20% but its moving quickly.....downloaded the new themes as well....didnt try it out yet but free is good. Im liking the customability of the themes, wallpaper and stuff
 
I think I see a new feature that was added by the new firmware. If you go to any of the DLC or downloadable games, there's a Buy Now button next to the Add to Cart button, which takes you straight to the purchase screen where you can put the exact amount of cash into your wallet to buy the game. No more fussing through a few screens before you can do that, which is cool if I'm correct on that.

Almost. You can pay directly from the card linked to your account now, so it was a mere few buttons clicks, without putting any funds into my wallet, and I had downloaded a GHIII DLC pack (just the VR one). I'm VERY pleased with that feature - less cumbersome = more sales, I believe.

Also, did you know that w/ 2.0 you can group your PS3 downloads together? Hold triangle over an item, and select group together. I have two folders now: PS3 w/ 11 items, and PSX with 5. I'm thrilled about that.

The themes are a nice touch, but the one I want to use the most (Nature), and to a similar degree, the others, have way-too-bright backgrounds. I can't read the font very easily due to the damn-near-white on damn-near-white contrast. I appreciate the effort, enjoy that they are free, and hope to see some improved themes in coming weeks and months.

Such a nice week I won't even point out the lack of PSX games. D'oh!

Cool, I didn't notice the grouping option. It still would be nice to separate demos and full games. Right now everything is in the "PS3 Folder" since I don't have any PSX games.

Hard is good, it makes the game all the more worthwhile if done right (I'm lookin' at you NGS and DMC ;O)

Same here. I only have two full PSN games and would like to shuffle em around and put em in different folders. Drag n' Drop basically..

It offers three difficulties, so you can pick how hard you want it. Got killed in my third gunfight since I ran out of ammo at the wrong time. You've definitely got to pick up ammo when you find it, or become a better shooter. The enemies are tough since they'll hide behind cover, advance towards you, find better angles to shoot at you.

I read in the other thread that you can create albums by hitting triangle on each game and editing the information menu. It's very time-consuming if you have a lot of downloads but the only way to group games further at the moment.
 
the sound design is great. stuff (bullets etc) seems to sound like it would in a forest. when you're near death, it's hard to hear anything -- i think the near-death effects did a good job.

there is water in the demo -- first thing i did when i saw it was roll in it to get all wet

a lot of satisfaction for shooting people. there's thick blood and they are very reactive. after getting shot i saw one enemy holding their arm as they tried to shoot me with the other arm. headshots are great.

explosive barrel and grenade ranges seemed spot on -- things died when i expected them to and i was safe when i expected to be safe.

Wow, is this how it's like during "primetime" east coast hours? I happen to be home right now and can't even access the PSN store at the moment.
 
Hm Uncharted is sounding better and better. Got my trade credit up with the help of free COD3 from CC and the +10 trade deal so I can pick it up if I really like the demo. Damn, I guess I won't be able to DL anything until later tonight though.

Sucks not having my GHIII guitar working or I'd pick up some Velvet Revolver DLC too. :p

the slowness of the PSN store reminds me of what happen to xbox live when the bioshock demo first came out.
 
Well I got stuck in a corner spot. Decided to try and climb a corner spot in the area where guys jump off from above, and I got stuck and he just kept shaking in the same spot >.>

This game looks and plays real nice though, I'm loving the gun fights but one thing struck me as odd. It says square triangle square for a combo, I hit square but he doesn't do anything when I hit triangle. I already died trying to perform the "vicious combo" :/
