Lost the map, Elena's probably dead, good start....

I dunno wtf, maybe I'm jinxed, but first I get stuck now it froze on me after I kicked down a door >.>
Demo was pretty good. My only complaint was I would have liked more platforming action and less gunplay.
No worries, that's how the final game will be.

Thaat sucks, but I haven't had that happen to me so far.

Demo was pretty good. AI is kindof weird but it's acceptable.

I probably shouldof shot at the conveniently placed exploding barrels than directly at enemies.

I can't decide if the AI is very good or inept. They hid well, aimed in the right spots, threw grenades when frustrated, and were fairly challenging. They even chased me down at one point when I had run away to miraculously recover from my bullet wounds, a la Gears of War.

At another point, though, I crouched underneath a small pillar, stood up, and plugged 2 of the 3 guys. The third moved round a bit to avoid being hit, but stayed in the same general area.

Do I like the game? You bet. My only visual complaint was the water effects when walking in the river. Very PS2 looking, although "wet Drake" was kinda surprising.

It's fun gameplay, and if it isn't a day one buy, it will be on my Christmas list. I may see what I have to trade in, as I'm not prone to spending money on myself this time of year.

I'm a little sour on the "miraculously heal from bullet wounds" sort of thing, though it's all fiction, I suppose. What's the alternative? Random health packs strewn about a pacific island? It's a catch-22 in that design spot, I'll grant them that. Nobody seemed to hate Gears of War either, I suppose. Or Halo.

I can't help but think it might have a somewhat fun online multiplayer mode based on the gameplay. I have no idea if they're doing that, or if this is a solely solo game. Sure seems to be the latter.

My only complaint about the demo is the lack of narrative. Flying, plane crash, shooting. It's important, and nice, to expose gamers to the gameplay before buying. It's also important, though, to grasp people in the narrative and make them want to buy the damned thing to find out what happens. Being told to press L2 to glimpse at some Blair Witch on Voodoo looking stuff is NOT narrative, IMO.

Overall, it's a very good game, and I'm looking forward to playing more of it. It's not perfect, of course. But, hey, perhaps I'm just not the kind of naive gamer to say "ZOMG! GTA/Mario/Metroid/Zelda/Halo/GoW is a perfect 10 that can't be improved upon at all!"

Can't get into the store. I want to give them my money, but I can't... Wish I could have had it in a queue before it went up for download then when it went up it started... now I'm going to have to wait forever for everyone to GTFO.

How can you give them money if the demo is free?

Completed the demo. How to describe this game: God of War with guns & stealth. The graphics and soundtrack are pretty amazing. I don't know why it's only in 720p on my 1080p TV though...

Way too much gunplay. It's just go here, shoot, go there, shoot. The game doesn't look like a 9, maybe an 8-8.5.

I don't know how you can even tell what the game would rate by the demo as it is not to long. Also calling it a God of War with guns and stealth baffles me.

I am sure the demo came after the final version, and the final version only supports 720p, 1080i. And while hte demo may just be gunplay, from videos I hav eseen I am sure there are a lot of puzzles, they just didn't want those in the demo.

I'm a lot more interested in this game now than ever. I love the gunplay, I'm hoping for some real huge/intense gunfights. The hand-to-hand combat was fun, especially getting a guy against a pillar/wall and beating the crap out of him. This dude knows how to throw down :p

On another note, he runs and jumps kinda funky. He's like an Indiana Jones version of Gabe Logan and a street fighter.

I'm all for puzzles, but in a game like this, I'd vouch for more action and less running around, or maybe action whilst solving puzzles ;O

Coming up with a good demo is very tough (especially for RPGs though). If you focus too much on puzzles, certain people will hate it. If you focus too much on action, people will find it too repetitive. If you focus too much on story, people will complain about too little gameplay. A full game can truly flesh a game out.

Got the demo of uncharted. It is very nice. The sounds and environments are fantastic. I'll probably be buying this during launch.
Anyone else having problems with the PSN? It keeps signing me out and is going really slow.
I haven't been able to get into the store at all. I either get "Connection to the server could no be establish" or "we are currently doing maintence"

EDIT: Got to download and play the Uncharted Demo. I thought it would be a little longer but it was still pretty good. I haven't figured out the fighting system yet, but I do like the fighting animations.
Running at a guy and then drop kicking him was probably the coolest part in the demo.

Yeah, when he said that I was like... * Rasies wtf flag*

This is my most anticipated title this fall. I have started the demo 3 times. But I keep getting interrupted by my kids, or wife before I finish the intro cutscene. But I am definitely worried now, since hearing the phrase "That is so not cool!". I really hope the dialog is not 12 yr old whitey-gangsta all the way through.

oh wow... fucking sweet surprise. for PSP owners and people with a japanese account, download the PSP demo that just went up... it's fucking too good. it's called namakai or something where you play a lord of a dungeon and the point is to build a dungeon to kill whatever adventurers come in. Also it's too hard to believe it's only 4 megs !!! I'm now hoping it gets translated.

Racing game from Game Republic.

Looks like HVB allows in-game custom soundtracks.

Urg, is anyone else having mondo problems with PSN? I can't get the store to work, and it's logging me in and out so much I can't play anything online...

Man I was hoping for some decent GH DLC this week :(

I just had the same problem. The store is filled with red Xs, and when I went into the store it signed me out of PSN.

This place died quickly. Just got back from running some errands and everything's up by now.

Anybody download the Dark Knight trailer? Is it the same as the one that's been on the web for awhile now?

There's also four new Uncharted wallpaper up there, too.

It's nice to see a demo of a PSN game up before it's out.

I'm downloading the trailer for that bowling game. Looks interesting, even though it probably is a copy of the one for Wii. I might buy if it isn't too much.

I actually kind of enjoy Toy Home after figuring out the controls. I will warn everyone that the controls instructions are misleading, telling you to use the SIXAXIS like a steering wheel. I had to control my car like I was controlling a plane in Warhawk and how I used it in Blast Factor. $10 might be a bit too much to ask though (I do wish it had analog control though).

I wish Hong Kong would get more PSOne games. I'm tempted to break down and get Metal Slug but I know that the day after I do that, a flood of new games will get released.
Argghhh, Toy home would be so good if they hadn't made it sixaxis mandatory.
was going to say the same thing... man, it's so good but hopefully will have the option to change controls.

Full version of Toy Home has online play.
I'll try the demo when I get home.

You just have to learn to use the handbrake apparently.
Argghhh, Toy home would be so good if they hadn't made it sixaxis mandatory.
It's not that bad actually. It's just a matter of learning the controls. As soon as I spent more time with it, I absolutely love it and can clear the level very quickly.

IMO, I thought $10 was too much initially, until I saw what the game comes with. It has single player, multi-player battles offline, online play, and some other options. IMO, there's more to do in the game than Calling All Cars, and many were willing to pay $10 for that. It would be nice if sticks were an option too, but I love it. Reminds me of Katamari, Toy Commander, etc.

Agreed. I'll probably give it another try or two though, see if I can't handle it a little better.
