Where are all the GTA:SA reviews???

The game comes out in a day or two and I haven't seen a SINGLE review for this game. Usually a mag or a website will have an exclusive review before a game comes out but this time I don't see anything anywhere. Anyone know why? Is this a bad sign? Or is Rock* so confident about their game that they don't feel they need to send advance copies to journalists?
 
I played GTA:SA a while ago, wasent so hot, but they stil had a few months to fix things, worst things are camera and controls(very bad)
 
It's a game that it's devs estimate to clock in at over 120 hours and has branching paths as I recall. It will probably take the non-hack reviewers a while to go through in detail.

That's what I'm thinking too. It can't be a good that there were no advance copies ready early enough for reivews or that none were sent out.

Maybe its good that you lower your expectations and you won't be as dissapointed if its bad. I jumped into Vice City with huge expectations and was a little bummed by its problems. You should reallly not get too hyped about any game really because no game can truly live up to mass hype which leads to countless discussions of "most overhypped game ever".
 
Hmmmm...echoes of Driv3r? Perhaps, but more likely is that IGN, Gamespot, et al. are embargoed from posting a review until Monday night (when my store, as well as others, get the game in for those who pre-ordered).

I just haven't read or seen anything about GTA:SA that convinces me it's anything other than another 100+ hours of the same ol' same ol' (which, admittedly, maybe all it takes to satisfy most people).

Yep, 100+ hours of killin popos is all I really look for in my GTA games, give me a few nice guns and a couple of fast cars and a nice vantage point and I'm set, I really liked the tall buildings from Vice City, sniper heaven!

I liked vice city.. but the only game to keep my hopes up is Zelda oot.

Its already been leaked. Not to mention the fact that all previous GTA games, and all games for that matter, face the same threat. There's gotta be another reason.

im sure they will be out tonite (gamespot and ign at least) and the magazine ones will come soon

hopefully the game will live up to its expectations...even if it doesnt it wont get below 80%
 
Well maybe there aren't any reviews because they are selling this game on hype alone and even a good but not fantasic review kills hype. Look at Fable I was all excited but then the reviews came out and if I hadn't already paid for the game with trade-ins I probably would have just passed on it.

i own all the systems..and i favor each in their own way..but if a games gonna suck..IT SUCKS...

That's the second Gamefaqs-esque post I've seen here in as many days. What's going on?
 
I'm looking forward to GTA:SA. Mostly because of the non-city area between cities, something that excites me greatly. =)

Plus, I never even got Vice City. O_O So it will be partially fresh to me. ^_^

Rockstar feels they are above reviews . . . what kind of presence did GTA SA have at E3 . . . zero. These guys are rock stars . . . they answer to no one. :lol:

I don't think you have much to worry about. It's hard to believe that they will drop the ball given their track record. They put out VC in one year after GTA3 . . . they've had two years for SA. VC sucked in some ways but was still better than any other game on the market (in the genre).

SA will get 8s, 9s and a few 10s (points will be deducted for lack of originality).

Yeah, my favorite is the chat station, especially in Vice City with the Florida guy who wants to keep all the new people out even though he's been there only a few years. Its great because I've met more than one person down there who's exactly like that.

Well, what I'm saying is that we don't really know that it will get 9's and 10's. We EXPECT it to do about that but, like a previous poster mentioned, look at Fable. It got decent review scores but not 9's and 10's and the previews for it were often very favorable.
 
I don't see the problem. If you liked previous GTAs then you'll like this one. They didn't make any radical departures. If you're a slave to reviews buy the game and wait for some scores to come in before you open it.

It was at E3. When their ego gets big, bad things happen. Don't get too cocky. If they start thinking the game will sell itself due to the name alone, they're right. The initial shipment will sell due to that fact, but if word gets out that it sucks.. not good.

R* has two big faults with GTA:SA. #1, whether you hate this subject or not, the main character is black and that has people here and in other states pissed off, leading to a decline in prebook sales (GTASA has roughly 1/2 of the prebooks Vice City did at the local EB). Three out of five people I've talked to said that they aren't getting it just because the main character is black. Me? I'll get it, and i'm getting a copy for a friend.

#2, the whole sims-like eating crap. The fanbase is wannabe 13 year old kids. This will not appeal to them.

Unless they totally screwed over the engine while adding new features to it it can't be THAT bad or else they hold it back loner to fix. R* wouldnt risk ruining their best moneymaker.

i loved the other gtas.. has anyone ever played those TOTAL WAR games? ...i hate thm..n they getting 9's from everyone! GTA SA is gonna b good...and it'll have its flaws.. nonetheless...rockstars gonna b rich..again..

It's not that I, or other people, are "slaves" to reviews. This is CHEAPassgamer for a reason. Nobody wants to shell out $50 for a game that may not be significantly better of different than its previous games.

Which bashes it for being just like the other 2 but then slams it for being racism? I think I smell contradiction anyhow the review is basically pissed that the game portrays certain groups in steriotypical ways. He really doesn't mention much about the gameplay itself.

I said it's from a subpar reporter. It's funny how if a game gets a bad review, especially a game like GTA, 10 people step up to defend it, and none of those 10 people have played it, yet the reporter has.

What he said is exactly the truth. It's just more of the same.
 
I wasn't that big a fan of the III or VC, so I will be waiting for this one to drop in price. Driving over pedestrians got pretty boring, IMO.

Dude, you're so full of crap I can smell you from here. You're the same guy who posted "The Truth About GTA: SA" which was also BS. Just give it up.

The game hasn't been reviewed online yet because Rockstar is very careful about their code -- especially since the leak. They've always been one of the most protective companies. Most websites have to wait to get boxed copies from Rockstar to review (I think IGN or GameSpot will get an early exclusive).

Well the more of the same part I'd go with, but he starts of with the sterotype B.S. instead of this game is just a rehash GTA 3, vice city which would have been a bit more useful to hear. Actually the later paragraphs aren't that bad an analysis.

Has there ever been a ChrisXE that wasn't crap, I remember his trading thread with a game that wasn't even out yet but he had a copy, he's always seemed a bit shaddy to me.
 
The game wont suck. People like to say games suck for the stupidet reasons. Most arent grounded in fact, but opinion or stupidity (Vice City and GTA3 ROCKED and are 2 of the most intense experiences on the consoles)

i said ANOTHER leak...i know there was one this week...but they are trying to prevent further pirating over the net....so maybe this is how they intend on doing it...

what the hell do you mean "further pirating over the net".. nothing's going to stop it. The full game's out there and EVERY GAME has been leaked to the net and has been since 2001.. I don't know why game news columnists are trying to bring it into focus now. Halo 2 leaked a full month before retail.. yeah.. so did Silent Hill 4, but you never heard anything about that leak, did you?

All you said was ANOTHER. You could have meant ANOTHER leak in general as in "GTA was leaked and Rock* doesn't want to risk ANOTHER leak". And besides what would another leak really do if there is one copy that has been spreading like wildfire. All you need is one leak so your argument seems a bit flawed.
